Jane Fonda is out promoting her recurring role on HBO´s The Newsroom, the pay giant´s weekly progressive rant on the news of (yester)day. Fonda, who has a cameo playing Nancy Reagan in the new political drama Lee Daniels´ The Butler, told an online chat audience who she hopes will be paying close attention to the show´s second season: When asked who she thinks would benefit from watching the Aaron Sorkin drama, which is currently in its second season, Fonda offered the following names: Bill O´Reilly, Michael Savage. CROSSVILLE — I am puzzled by President Obama’s message to the nation given in the press briefing room following the trial in which George Zimmerman was found not guilty in the death of Trayvon Martin. Despite the fact that multiple investigations were unable to find any evidence of racism in the incident (including local law enforcement, state prosecutor, FBI and the jury), Obama adroitly turned the incident between two males, one black and the other Hispanic, into a racial incident while claiming he “accepted” the jury’s findings.

Speaking to State Department personnel at the U.S. Embassy in Brasilia, Brazil, on Tuesday, Secretary of State John Kerry said that "this little thing called the Internet ... makes it much harder to govern." He also said that "ever since the end of the Cold War, forces have been unleashed that were tamped down for centuries by dictators." "I’m a student of history, and I love to go back and read a particularly great book like [Henry] Kissinger’s book about diplomacy where you think about the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and the balance of power and how difficult it was for countries

Report: Zero Attendees at Organizing

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Tony Lee    Original Article

On Tuesday, Organizing for Action (OFA) organized an event in Washington, D.C. to promote President Barack Obama´s climate change agenda. Reportedly, no one showed up. OFA is Obama´s policy advocacy group that was formerly his 2012 reelection campaign. The event was part of the group´s "Action August" activities that are seeking to promote policies Obama has indicated he will push for in his second term. OFA kicked off its "Action August" with a pro-Obamacare rally in Virginia that did a tad better--one person showed up to that rally. The invitation to the Washington, D.C. rally has also been removed from

ObamaCare To Punish

Health Reform: No good deed will go unpunished under ObamaCare. If a charitable hospital treats a homeless person who staggers into the emergency room without insurance, it may be punished with taxes and fines. One of the "unintended" consequences of the misnamed Affordable Care Act was to place charitable tax-exempt hospitals in a medical Catch-22: To maintain their tax-exempt status they´re required to treat a minimum number of patients who can´t pay, yet ObamaCare requires everyone to have health coverage. Right now, about 60% of the 6,000 or so hospitals in the U.S. are tax-exempt nonprofits, while 25% are government-owned. The rest

Mudslinging: Sen. Harry Reid asks if anti-Obama fervor is "based on substance and not the fact that he´s an African-American." It´s not the color of his skin, Senator, but the content of his policies. Patriotism may or may not be the last refuge of a scoundrel, but race is the Democrats´ constant refuge from Barack Obama´s failures. According to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., interviewed last week by KNPR in Las Vegas, Republicans are obviously "doing everything they can to make him fail." And Reid says, "I hope that´s based on substance and not the fact that he´s African-American." Reid can rest

ObamaCare: Confirming again that its reform is a disaster, the White House has stopped yet another provision of the law before it can take effect. This time it´s caps placed on patients´ out-of-pocket expenses. The delay was authorized in February, but had gone unnoticed, the New York Times reported Tuesday, because it "was obscured in a maze of legal and bureaucratic language that went largely unnoticed" on the Labor Department´s website. Department officials confirmed its existence only when asked about it. So much for open government. The caps, which were supposed to be a "consumer protection" provision of ObamaCare, limit the amount patients

It´s only been three days, but President Obama has quickly settled into the vacation diet on Martha´s Vineyard. But don´t tell the first lady. Even by the standards of Washington, this is one sick, twisted and deceitful deal. Quite possibly, it is a whole new low, even for the federal government. Had we innocent, taxpaying citizens not long ago lost our capacity to be outraged by the disgraceful manner in which this place operates, we would already be in all-out political revolt. Against President Obama. Against Democrats in Congress. And, especially, Republicans. Literally, revolutionary wars have been fought over less. Last week, while many Americans spent hard-saved money on long-overdue vacations, the snakes and weasels inside the federal bureaucracy schemed until they hatched an

Despite all the recent furor over a Missouri rodeo clown’s sporting an Obama costume, it turns out that President Obama isn’t the only one who’s been involved with rodeo clowns. As Charlie Spiering points out over at the Washington Examiner, this is hardly the first time rodeo clowns have parodied a president – he quotes a 1994 Philadelphia Inquirer article that tells of the destruction of a George H. Ask a Staten Islander who lost his home in Hurricane Sandy about forecasting an entire hurricane season and he might look at you unblinkingly and say, “It only takes one.” Which is why the “very active” second half of the 2013 hurricane season predicted by the National Oceanic Atmospheric Association (NOAA) is so scary. Based on the current and expected conditions, combined with model forecasts, the agency estimate a 70 percent probability for each of the following: 13 to 19 named storms, six to nine hurricanes (with winds exceeding 74 mph), and three to five major hurricanes (with winds exceeding

This morning Senator Rubio again made the argument that I mentioned the other day, that Congress needs to pass an amnesty to prevent President Obama from just amnestying all the illegals administratively without giving any enforcement in return. As he told a Florida radio station: I believe that this president will be tempted, if nothing happens in Congress, he will be tempted to issue an executive order like he did for the DREAM Act kids a year ago, where he basically legalizes 11 million people by the sign of a pen.
