Vice President Biden, an observant Catholic, will lead the U.S. delegation to Rome for Pope Francis’s installation, a White House official confirmed. No dates have been announced, but the ceremony could take place as early as Tuesday on behalf of Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina, who was selected Wednesday. Biden has served as one of President Obama’s informal religious advisers on matters concerning the Catholic Church, including the debate over contraception last year under the administration’s new health-care law.

Ex-Secret Service Agent:
Obama ´Absolutely Not Telling

Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino told Breitbart News that President Barack Obama was lying when he blamed the cancellation of White House tours on his former agency. “The president’s absolutely not telling the truth when he said the Secret Service made that decision to cut [the White House] tours,” Bongino said. “That’s the core of it: he is not telling the truth.” In an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, Obama said the decision, made as a part of sequestration, was not one “that went up to the White House.”

RUSH: You want to hear the Limbaugh Theorem in action? ´Cause I can illustrate the Limbaugh Theorem using the president himself. My friends, a lot of pressure has been brought to bear on President Obama over the White House tours being canceled. Any number of people have offered to pay to reopen the tours. Individual citizens, any number of people have offered to do so. The regime has not relented on this. They claim it can´t happen that way. But the latest thing to happen is that Obama says he had nothing to

WASHINGTON- Wanted: moderate Democrats. Contact the mostly liberal House Democratic leadership if interested. Democrats hope to take back the House of Representatives in 2014 by mirroring their last successful effort to flip the chamber in 2006. Rep. Steve Israel, the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, said Wednesday he is recruiting nonideological "problem-solver" candidates to contrast with Republicans who, he said, are stuck on "tea party extremism.""Our candidates will be mayors, business leaders, small business owners ... community members," he said. RUSH: When I announced the Limbaugh Theorem, that was February 13th. Folks, I could make the case -- and if there is anybody who would make the case, it would be me -- I could make the case that my announcement of the Limbaugh Theorem, how it is that Obama is never governing, never seen as governing, constantly campaigning, always opposing everything that´s going wrong, always trying to fix it, when in fact he´s the architect, how people say they hate the direction the country´s going and they don´t like Obama´s agenda,

RUSH: Now, there are conservatives in the media and elected conservative Republicans, Republicans as well, and I mentioned this yesterday, who are suggesting that, "Well, you know, look, Obamacare is the law of the land, and we´re law-abiding conservatives. And there´s no point in rolling this back or trying to repeal it. It happened." But every day we learn more and more about this program. Every day we learn more and more about the absolute punitive oppression that is in this plan. It´s already unpopular.

Dianne Feinstein is the absolute, living demonstration in support of the concept of term limits for Congress. No pol has been more aggressive than Old Dame Feinstein in seizing on the recent school shooting tragedy in Connecticut to advance her über liberal, gun-grabbing agenda. This old Left Coast tool has recently advanced her silliness to the point of making herself the subject of outright ridicule. Here´s a comment from her ongoing efforts to push through illegal and unconstitutional gun control laws in the Senate: We have federal regulations and state laws that prohibit hunting ducks with more

"President Barack Obama said he could not imagine a circumstance in which a state banning gay marriage was legal," the Puffington Host reports. The comment came during an interview with Clinton aide turned ABC Newsman George Stephanopoulos, who asked Obama, in the Puffington paraphrase, "whether gay marriage was a right under the Constitution." Obama´s answer: "Well, I´ve gotta tell you that--in terms of practical politics, what I´ve seen is a healthy debate taking place state by state, and not every state has the exact same attitudes and cultural mores.

New Pope Francis I is a conservative in the mold of his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI and Pope John Paul II. That’s especially true on the issue of abortion, which he called a “death sentence” for the unborn in 2007. “We aren’t in agreement with the death penalty,” he said during that speech, “but in Argentina we have the death penalty. A child conceived by the rape of a mentally ill or retarded woman can be condemned to death.” In his writings, Francis wrote, “we should commit ourselves to ‘eucharistic coherence,’ that is, we should be conscious that people cannot receive holy communion

Via the Free Beacon, don’t bother complaining. Skip the Ted Kennedy mentions and “what if a Republican…” hypotheticals in the comments. It’s pointless. Just pause a moment to absorb the double standard and go about your day. Besides, if there’s any liberal who enjoys extra immunity for something like this, it’s crazy Uncle Joe. He’s supposed to be an idiot. What’s worse, this or him telling shotgun owners to pump and fire through the door when they see someone lurking outside? And he paid no price for that outside of righty blogs, right? QED. Here’s all I want:

I wonder what the Washington Post’s Bob Woodward thinks about this article in today’s Washington Post-owned Slate, which attempts to trash — key word being “attempt” — one of Woodwards’s few non-political* books, Wired, his look at the drug-fueled death of John Belushi, which had occurred in 1982. Two years after Belushi died, as a favor to Belushi’s widow, and no doubt knowing it was a great story about a very public figure, Woodward produced a reporter’s look into the superstar comedian’s self-destruction. Woodward explored how a gifted, intuitive performer who had possibly the most intense

After five ballots and just over a day, the 115 cardinal electors have selected Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio as the new successor to the Apostle Peter and head of the Catholic Church. He will assume the papal name Francis I. Pope Francis was an unexpected choice. At gambling site PaddyPower, his odds shortly before he was identified were 25-to-1, making him something of a long-shot. How unexpected was his selection? In crafting a biography of him, National Catholic Reporter suggested that he "at least merits a look." Until today, Francis serves as cardinal-archbishop of

A propaganda video apparently made by North Korea claims US citizens live off Snow and have eaten the country´s entire population of Birds. The bizarre film shows a dystopian American society where the streets are piled with body-bags and filled with homeless drug addicts. Most people are forced to live in tents and “buy guns to kill each other, especially children”, according to the video. It even shows North Koreans coming to the aid of hapless Americans, with the regime’s camera crew doling out cakes, blankets and “North Korean coffee”. But some internet users branded the video a hoax.

The spooks don’t preside over the most secretive agency of the government. It’s no place for spies or their spymasters, so it isn’t the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency or even the Office of National Intelligence. The place where the deepest secrets are kept is where the gnomes of the central banks work. The Federal Reserve was created a century ago in the wake of financial panics that saw depositors who, worried about losing their life’s savings, withdrew all their funds in relentless runs on banks. New York/Washington - The Obama administration is drawing up plans to give all U.S. spy agencies full access to a massive database that contains financial data on American citizens and others who bank in the country, according to a Treasury Department document seen by Reuters. The proposed plan represents a major step by U.S. intelligence agencies to spot and track down terrorist networks and crime syndicates by bringing together financial databanks, criminal records and military intelligence. The plan, which legal experts say is permissible under U.S. law, is nonetheless likely to trigger intense criticism from privacy advocates.

VATICAN CITY -- Argentine Jorge Bergoglio has been elected pope, the first ever from the Americas and the first from outside Europe in more than a millennium. He chose the name Pope Francis. After announcing "´Habemus Papum" - "´We have a pope!" - a cardinal standing on the balcony of St. Peter´s Basilica on Wednesday revealed the identity of the new pontiff, using his Latin name. Bergoglio had reportedly finished second in the 2005 conclave that produced Benedict XVI - who last month became the first pope to resign in 600 years.

Jan van Lohuizen, a former George W. Bitter clingers, if you will, to the idea of traditional marriage. “I have any number of gay friends who are Republicans, but what makes me tick is that I have concerns that this is another issue that would limit the growth of the Republican party,”

This isn’t news because it’s novel for a Paul to be saying such things — his dad once called for getting the government out of marriage on a GOP presidential primary debate stage — but because of Paul’s growing prominence in the GOP. If he could rally a hawkish party to oppose the president’s power to use drones against terrorists in certain circumstances, can he rally a socially conservative party to find an accommodation on gay marriage? Paul says foreign policy is an instrumental way to expand the GOP, but it’s not the only way.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Wednesday said the Republican Party needs to be more “tolerant” if it wants to attract the younger voters that helped propel President Obama to a second term in office. “I believe a Republican Party that is more tolerant and dedicated to keeping the government out of people’s lives as much as possible would be more appealing to the rising generation,” Paul said in an op-ed on the website PolicyMic. “Most young people I encounter simply have no desire to tell other people what to do or how to live,” he added.
