Bill O’Reilly Blows Up In Epic

Mediaite, by Josh Feldman    Original Article

Bill O’Reilly brought on Alan Colmes and Monica Crowley to talk about President Obama‘s seeming reticence to offer any meaningful spending cuts, but most of the segment involved O’Reilly getting into a shouting match with Colmes over Colmes not being able, as O’Reilly viewed it, to provide concrete examples of what Obama wants to cut. O’Reilly repeatedly shouted at Colmes, called him a liar, and declared his claims to be “bull-blank.” Colmes told O’Reilly that it shouldn’t be a surprise that Obama is trying to get Congress back in the hands of the Democrats in 2014,

Less than a day after Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez’s communication minister appeared on television to announce that the socialist leader was in failing health, Chávez has died. In 2010, Christopher Hitchens wrote about a 2008 visit to Venezuela with actor Sean Penn during which he gained a rare insight into Chávez’s mental health. Recent accounts of Hugo Chávez´s politicized necrophilia may seem almost too lurid to believe, but I can testify from personal experience that they may well be an understatement. Last year, the Social Security Administration put out a procurement request for 174,000 rounds of “.357 Sig 125 grain bonded jacketed hollow point pistol ammunition,” prompting a few on the Internet to work themselves up into something of a frenzy. “It’s not outlandish,” claimed Paul Joseph Wilson, one of a team of professional paranoiacs on the Infowars website, “to suggest that the Social Security Administration is purchasing the bullets as part of preparations for civil unrest.” “Something strange is going on,” harmonized Breitbart’s William Bigelow. Even Mark Levin was concerned.

The federal economic policies confidence gauge fell 11% to 35.5, also a 15-month low. The six-month outlook index cratered 18% to 38.8, the worst since October 2011. Security: In addition to stockpiling over a billion bullets and thousands of semiautomatic weapons the feds would deny U.S. citizens, the vehicle of choice for fighting the counterinsurgency war in Iraq is appearing on U.S. streets. The sequestration question du jour is why the Department of Homeland Security, busy releasing hundreds, if not thousands, of deportable and detained illegal aliens due to budget constraints, is buying several thousand Mine Resistant Armored Protection (MRAP) vehicles? And just who are they intended to be used against?

Sequester: The press and Democratic lawmakers complain that the automatic cuts will hurt the poor, minorities and women most. So why were they silent about the president´s policies that caused these groups far more harm? Over the weekend, the New York Times ran a story headlined: "As Automatic Budget Cuts Go Into Effect, Poor May Be Hit Particularly Hard." It wasn´t exactly a model of unbiased reporting. While the story noted that the sequester spares "many programs that aid the poorest," it failed to explain that these programs represent the vast bulk of the money spent on the poor.

About 4 percent of U.S. hospitals and 18 percent of long- term acute care hospitals, such as those that provide ventilation and wound care, had an infection from carbapenem- resistant Enterobacteriaceae, in the first half of 2012, according to a report released today by the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This family of germs includes organisms such as Klebsiella and E. coli. Healthy people usually don’t get infected from these germs.

Earlier today, the White House announced that it was cancelling public tours beginning March 9 as a result of spending cuts mandated by sequestration. Below is the relevant section:

The Obama administration is urging federal officials not to exercise maximum flexibility in implementing automatic spending reductions in order to validate White House talking points, according to an e-mail sent Monday. Brown said officials in Washington advised him against trying to lessen the impact of

CARACAS, Venezuela -- President Hugo Chavez, the fiery populist who declared a socialist revolution in Venezuela, crusaded against U.S. influence and championed a leftist revival across Latin America, died Tuesday at age 58 after a nearly two-year bout with cancer. During more than 14 years in office, Chavez routinely challenged the status quo at home and internationally. He polarized Venezuelans with his confrontational and domineering style, yet was also a masterful communicator and strategist who tapped into Venezuelan nationalism to win broad support, particularly among the poor. Vice President Nicolas Maduro, surrounded by other government officials, announced the death in a

CARACAS, Venezuela — Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, the socialist leader who assailed U.S. influence in Latin America in his campaign against capitalism and democratic freedoms, died Tuesday. He was 58. Chávez succumbed to cancer after months of treatments in Cuba, whose communist leaders he admired and propped up with cheap Venezuelan oil. In power for 14 years, Chávez used oil money and vitriol to spread his "Bolivarian revolution" to neighboring states, playing a role in bolstering leftward turns in Ecuador and Bolivia and backing revolutionaries in Colombia. He hectored the United States often, belittling

For the first time since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, federal airport screeners will allow passengers to carry onto a plane small knives, as well as golf clubs, hockey sticks and pool cues. The policy change, which will take effect April 25, was immediately criticized by flight attendants, who say the move will create an unnecessary risk and further crowd the already limited space in the overhead bins. "While we agree that a passenger wielding a small knife or swinging a golf club or hockey stick poses less of a threat to the pilot locked

Yes, there´s been a shift of power in Arlington, which may or may not be the same as a power struggle, but the end result is the same. Either way, Jon Daniels wins and a guy named Rick George wins, because the ownership group of the Texas Rangers decided that was the direction to go. And the loser in all this? Nolan Ryan. All the above is a surprising development, and a risky development — I also say it’s a stupid development, because why jack with what has worked so well — but all of the above has been thoroughly sourced.

A very courageous fifth-grade teacher in the Chicago Public Schools has written a scathing critique of the almost comical misery she and her students endured when they participated in a massive February 28 event kicking off Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Active Schools campaign. The First Lady’s campaign is an effort to improve (and in some cases, bring back) physical education in American schools. White House officials called the event “a groundbreaking, earth-shattering, awesomely-inspiring day.” Lisa Putnam and her fifth grades most certainly did not experience the event the same way, however.

While some focus on the freak show aspects of the coming Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) meeting — does anyone really care what Sarah Palin will say, and is anyone except joyous Democrats and suicidal Republicans not yet bored by what Ted Cruz says? — the real show will lie in the Bush v. Rubio battle over immigration. Former Florida Republican Gov. Jeb Bush, who is likely running for president, has fired an anti-immigration shot over the bow of current Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, who is likely running for president, by opposing a path to citizenship on immigration.

He was waving around a signed copy of the dictator’s huge manifesto, telling everyone they should read it.”
