Buttocks, breasts and

As we reported earlier this week, celebrities are finding ever more inventive ways of baring their assets on the red carpet. Side-boobs, waistline-necklines and backless dresses, which sit so low they reveal something of ´what lies beneath´, have become the norm. And that´s before we´ve even got into the thigh-split dresses that so love to make a feature of a girl´s underpants. Such rampant, flesh-baring antics have now driven CBS, the broadcaster of Sunday´s 55th Grammy Awards, to take the unusual step of sending out a ´Standard And Practice Wardrobe Advisory´ notice to all attendees, containing a strict dress code.

The media complicity in President Obama´s drone strategy gets more and more astonishing with each passing day. On Wednesday, Britain´s Guardian published a piece with the incredible sub-headline "New York Times and Washington Post knew about secret drone base in Saudi Arabia but agreed not to disclose it to the public." On Tuesday, following Monday´s disclosure by NBC of a leaked Justice Department white paper on the case for its controversial targeted killing programme, the Washington Post revealed it had previously refrained from publishing the base´s location at the behest of the Obama administration over national security concerns.

First he dictated the size of our cups — now he wants to ban what they’re made of. The Bloomberg administration is considering banning Styrofoam cups and containers — popular at thousands of delis and food carts across the city— as it prepares to roll out a major recycling announcement in the coming weeks, a Sanitation Department official said yesterday. “We’re studying all the different things in our waste stream. We want to make sure that everything in our waste stream is recyclable,” Ron Gonen, deputy commissioner for recycling at Sanitation, told The Post. Mayor Bloomberg last year

This is, actually, a tiny bit unusual. The normal form for summits is that leaders arrive in big shiny cars, which pull up to the rear entrance of the Justus Lipsius building to disgorge their VIP cargo before a pack of waiting hacks clustered by the door. Like a lot of summitry, this ritual is a bit silly, especially since the leaders often aren´t coming from very far away. In the case of a British PM, the distance concerned is sometimes only a few hundred yards, from the UK Permanent Representative´s office street or so away.

Finding out what’s in it v 1,467, or “Not this crap again.” ObamaCare was sold as a health insurance reducer. Instead, in a few years many Americans will see their health insurance costs rise to $20,000 per year. Some premiums will rise by as much as 85%. ObamaCare was sold as being good for your bottom line. Instead, it may drive the price of pizza through the roof. And now, it may also force price hikes at your local supermarket. The proposed regulation would require store owners to label prepared, unpackaged foods found in salad bars and

Fox News and the Republican Party, while still technically distinct entities, are moving to purge figures who are so controversial they´re damaging the conservative brand, Politico´s Jim VandeHei and Mike Allen report. An anonymous GOP strategist told Politico there is a deliberate effort to "marginalize the cranks, haters and bigots — there’s a lot of underbrush that has to be cleaned out." The strategist requested anonymity because the crank marginalization is not yet complete and he or she doesn´t want to inflame the cranks. New York´s Jonathan

A confidential legal review has just decided that the President should have broad power to issue preemptive cyber attacks, says the NYT. This review comes at a time when the pace of attacks on sensitive computer systems has picked up. The Energy Department, two American power stations, the NYT, the WSJ, and Washington Post have all been recent victims of recent assaults, at least three of which allegedly came from China. These attacks have the potential to cripple an entire nation’s infrastructure, from a distance, and without the use of explosives. But some fear the Obama Administration is

Sneed has learned a plea deal is now on the table between former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. and federal authorities probing allegations of campaign fund misuse. Sneed is told the plea deal includes Jackson serving time in federal prison. “Significant jail time is now definitely a part of the deal,” said a top Sneed source close to the probe. “But I think [Jackson’s wife] Sandi, feels like she was thrown under the bus by her husband, ” now that a separate probe has begun on her, a second source added.

TONY BENNETT: It´s the kind of turn that happened to the great country of Germany, when Nazis came over and created tragic things, and they had to be told off. As he continues to fill out his cabinet, a report emerged late Wednesday that President Obama is "close to choosing" Chicago billionaire Penny Pritzker as America´s next Secretary of Commerce. There´s only one problem. She and her secretive family have been caught up in some pretty dodgy commercial ventures including but not limited to dodging taxes and running a bank that specialized in subprime mortgages. Scandal potential aside, Penny Pritzker makes good sense as Obama´s pick for Commerce Secretary. She´s engaged in commerce, first of all — like, a lot of it. Last week Kirsten Powers, one of the more visible Democratic contributors to Fox News, wrote a lengthy piece for that organization’s website called “Obama vs. Fox News –behind the White House strategy to delegitimize a news organization.” In it she rather shockingly set herself apart from her more radical cohorts on the left by demonstrating a willingness to denounce them for their demonization of Fox and their assault on freedom of the press. She may be one of the last pundits on the left to adhere, at least in this instance, to classical liberal values.

President Barack Obama has presided over the worst multi-year recovery in American history since the end of World War II, according to data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). During his tenure, the economy has grown only 7.5 percent, compared with double-digit growth in other post-recession periods. Using inflation-adjusted GDP figures from BEA and business cycle dates from the National Bureau of Economic Research (the organization used by the government to date when recessions and recoveries begin and end), CNSNews.com calculated how much the economy grew for each post-recession period since 1949, the earliest

So, let´s get this straight: Two years ago President Obama ordered the assassination-by-drone of an American citizen overseas. The fellow was successfully vaporized. And according to Wednesday afternoon´s headlines, Obama just now "agrees" to share with Congress the memos he relied on for his legal justification to kill that American. And by extension, others that Obama or his successors might deem expendable for "national security" reasons. This from the arugula-loving Democrat who professed such profound moral outrage over the non-lethal (Republican) terrorist interrogation process called waterboarding.

HOUSTON – A Texas prison escapee on the run for almost 16 years has been captured by authorities in Mexico and awaits extradition to the U.S. to finish serving his sentence on charges of attempted capital murder of a police officer, state Department of Criminal Justice officials said Wednesday. Juan Salaz was apprehended last week. The 37-year-old American citizen had been sought for years by authorities on both sides of the border. Salaz escaped the night of March 22, 1997, from the Garza East prison in Beeville in South Texas by climbing over three 16-foot fences all topped with razor wire.

Beyoncé´s energetic Super Bowl performance came with its own fan-filled audience, a contribution from her rapper husband Jay-Z and a costume wild enough to enrage animal rights protestors. One thing the singer didn´t plan for, however, was "unflattering" photos. It appears not even divas are immune from an awkward snap, and when American website Buzzfeed decided to publish 33 of the less photogenic photos of Beyoncé´s performance, news site Gawker found out that her publicist called for them to be taken down. The publicist sent an email to Buzzfeed "respectfully asking" that they remove some of the "unflattering" photos, specifying

Brennan was a top aide to former CIA director George Tenet during the time just after the 9/11 attacks when harsh interrogation techniques, such as waterboarding, were being used. He has since said he opposed the program. The White House has signaled confidence that Brennan’s nomination will get Senate approval,

A Spanish warship has been confronted by the Royal Navy near Gibraltar amid growing tensions around the UK outpost. The armed patrol vessel, which typically carries special forces and marines, was spotted cruising irregularly and warned repeatedly to leave British waters. Last night, the Foreign Office lodged a diplomatic protest with Madrid over the most serious episode of sabre-rattling off the Rock in half a century. There are fears that the Spanish government is seeking to ramp up tensions to deflect attention away from domestic problems threatening to engulf Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy. While I can´t recall the exact reason my sister hit me on the head with a high heel many years ago I´ll never forget her saying, "you´re so cold-hearted." Apparently she felt I was not that sympathetic to a situation she had read about in the newspaper. I was reminded about this long ago incident listening to the recent testimonies in Congress on the gun control issues. The Democrats always wage their battles by triggering emotional reactions while the Republicans tend to value the facts - which explains why I am a Republican and why she is a diehard Democrat.
