Rand Paul to Hillary Clinton:
´I would’ve sacked you over Benghazi´.
Are these the first shots of 2016?

For my money the biggest moment from yesterday’s Benghazi hearings was when Rand Paul took to the microphone and gave Hillary Clinton a piece of his mind.[Snip] I´m glad that you´re accepting responsibility [Mrs Clinton]. I think ultimately with your leaving that you accept the culpability for the worst tragedy since 9/11. And I really mean that. Had I been president and found you did not read the cables from Benghazi and from Ambassador Stevens, I would have relieved you of your post. I think it´s inexcusable. Ouch.

The man who trademarked ‘Harbowl’

A year ago, as the Baltimore Ravens under coach John Harbaugh and San Francisco 49ers under coach Jim Harbaugh advanced through the NFL playoffs, there was talk of a potential brother-vs-brother Super Bowl – a “Harbowl,” as some sportswriters had begun calling it. Roy Fox of Pendleton, Indiana, is an ordinary football fan who had an idea: make T-shirts and hats with the word “Harbowl” on them, and sell them for some extra cash in case these brothers did ever meet up in a future Super Bowl. Mr. Fox remembered how Lakers Coach Pat Riley famously made money by trademarking

Obama Urged to Resign

WASHINGTON – A rising chorus of congressional Republicans are calling on President Obama to acknowledge that the pop singer Beyoncé lip-synched during his inaugural festivities on Monday and resign from office, effective immediately. “By lip-synching the national anthem, Beyoncé has cast a dark cloud over the President’s second term,” said Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky). “The only way President Obama can remove that cloud is by resigning from office at once.” While many in the media have blamed Beyoncé for the lip-synching controversy, Mr. Paul said, “We must remember that this happened on President Obama’s watch.”

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. — Teddy Turner inherited his love of sailing from his father, media magnate Ted Turner. But there is less of a family resemblance when it comes to politics. While the elder Turner leans Democratic, Teddy Turner is running as a Republican in a crowded race for an open South Carolina congressional seat created by a U.S. Senate appointment. (Snip) Working for CNN, Turner said he saw firsthand a busted centralized economy and experienced socialized medicine after being in a Soviet hospital following a serious traffic accident. “That is scary and we never need to get there,”

More than 12 years after he won his last event, a skins game in California against Tiger Woods, Colin Montgomerie and Jesper Parnevik, Greg Norman is still raking it in off the course. The 57-year-old came in at No.8 on Golf Digest´s list of the top 50 earners in the game in 2012 with a handy US$17 million.(Snip)That explains why Arnold Palmer ($36 million) and Jack Nicklaus ($28 million) came in at three and four respectively. Women in all branches of the military soon will have unprecedented opportunities to serve on the front lines of the nation´s wars. Leon Panetta, in one of his last acts as President Obama´s defense secretary, is preparing to announce the policy change, which would open hundreds of thousands of front-line positions and potentially elite commando jobs after more than a decade at war, the Pentagon confirmed Wednesday. The groundbreaking move recommended by the Joint Chiefs of Staff overturns a 1994 rule banning women from being assigned to smaller ground combat units. So what if abortion ends life?

Of all the diabolically clever moves the anti-choice lobby has ever pulled, surely one of the greatest has been its consistent co-opting of the word “life.” Life! Who wants to argue with that? Who wants be on the side of … not-life? That’s why the language of those who support abortion has for so long been carefully couched in other terms. While opponents of abortion eagerly describe themselves as “pro-life,” the rest of us have had to scramble around with not nearly as big-ticket words like “choice” and “reproductive freedom.” The “life”

I´ve never seen anything like Hillary Clinton´s appearance before a joint congressional committee on that Benghazi guy who went nuts over there in Libya. Hillary Clinton is ending her tenure as secretary of state in fiery fashion. "You really get the sense that [Mrs.] Clinton barely managed to restrain herself from dropping an F-bomb there," remarks New York magazine´s Dan Amira. He refers to an exchange between the secretary and Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin at a Foreign Relations Committee hearing this morning. Johnson pressed her about the administration´s conflicting explanations for the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, which killed the ambassador and three other Americans. Secretary of State Clinton’s testimony Wednesday is really about the need for more funding to physically strengthen United States embassies. As a penny-pinching Republican, you might be surprised to learn I think this is a good idea. Having worked with a former Iranian U.S. hostage from 1979 -- the Canadians smuggled him out -- and a lucky U.S. foreign affairs officer who happened to be in a meeting elsewhere when our embassy in Kenya was blown up in 1998, this matter is personal to me. And when I think what it was like working at the U.S. House on Sept.11, my feelings grow that much

Several of the president’s top political advisers and the campaign’s gold mine of a voter database will be housed not at the national party, but at a tax-exempt group called Organizing for Action.
