White House staffers have now reportedly come around to the fact that their petition website is just one big, dumb waste of time. The “We The People” website, which allows everyday Americans to pester the Obama administration with nonsensical petitions calling for secession or the construction of a Star Wars-inspired orbital death cannon, now requires petitions to carry at least 100,000 signatures before they receive an official White House response. Previously, petitions only required 25,000 signatures — a threshold met by aforementioned Death Star idea, which the White House batted away with a tongue-in-cheek response.

For some time, there have been unsubstantiated reports of the Obama administration engaging in clandestine negotiations with China toward satisfying America’s debt to that nation via exchanges of land and resources. Such an arrangement would be illegal and treasonous of course, but given its deportment to date, that would not likely deter this administration. Also, in the face of having trillions of dollars in debt called by China, and the economic catastrophe that would ensue, it is entirely possible that Obama might request and be granted some manner of dispensation from Congress to legitimize this pact.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. –A suburban New York City newspaper has removed the names and addresses of residents with pistol permits from its website. Publication of the permit data following last month´s school shooting massacre in Newtown, Conn. produced a storm of outrage from gun owners. It also quickly resulted in a new state measure meant to protect permit holders´ privacy. The president and publisher of The Journal News Media Group announced the move Friday.
