Fraud And Disability Equal

A parasite has insidiously invaded the body of America. It has fed and grown large on nutrients from government handouts and now is enervating its host, our capitalist system. Since our president entered the White House in January 2009 through September of this year 5.9 million people have been added to the SSDI or Social Security Disability program. That compares with less than 2.5 million jobs created during the same period. According to Social Security Administration data, currently including spouses and children, SSDI rolls have swollen to a bloated 10.9 million.

When is it Barack Obama’s Turn

Our elected leaders had to raise taxes. That was what we were told by the leftist-in-chief Barack Obama and Democrats in the fiscal cliff negotiations. President Obama said the hikes were needed to ensure that wealthy Americans pay their “fair share.” Obama’s tax increases amount to about 60 billion dollars a year. So what are we to do about the remaining annual trillion dollar deficit left from Washington’s unprecedented spending? Mr. Obama and his Democrats don’t have as much clarity on spending cuts as they did on raising taxes.

There are no gun shops in Chicago, so they say, but murders are on pace to hit 730 for 2013. Guns are usually the weapons that the killers choose to use. Two teenaged boys were murdered over the weekend, and guns were the weapons used by the killers. One victim, 14-year-old Rey Dorantes, was reportedly shot will sitting on the front porch of his home. 15-year-old Victor Vega was reportedly walking with another male when they were approached by an armed may who opened fire, killing Vega. In separate incidents, four other people were wounded via gunfire, and all

Ben Shapiro’s satisfying dismantling of Piers Morgan on CNN over the issue of gun control has been getting some of the plaudits it deserves. Morgan is, as Ben says, a bully of the first water, a man whose delight in mud slinging was too much even for the bottom-feeding British tabloid the Daily Mirror, which fired him for publishing fake photos of British soldiers supposedly abusing Iraqi prisoners. Morgan is one of those liberals whose unshakable self-infatuation compels him to treat disagreement as a sort of moral heresy. His contemptuous—and contemptible—treatment of his guests makes for

Jesse Jackson was on America’s Newsroom today to discuss gun control. Jackson said assault weapons are a threat to national security. Jackson also said gun manufacturers should be held responsible for shootings.“These semi-automatic weapons, these assault weapon, can only kill people and in fact are threats to national security. The young man who did the killing in Aurora, Colorado with the arsenal he had. He was right near the airport, right near the runways near the airport in Denver. He could shoot down airplanes. so this is a matter of homeland security… We need to make manufacturers more accountable for their product.“

WalMart reportedly has stopped selling ammunition ahead of the Obama administration’s anticipated gun control recommendations to Congress -- and uncertainty over what new laws may be coming. According to the Investment Watch blog, WalMart Corporation will no longer place new ammunition orders pending “the upcoming decision on the Second Amendment.” A customer stood with a WalMart employee as a call was made to the corporate office. WalMart headquarters told the employee the following: “As of right now WalMart is not going to be making any new orders of ammo because of

Journalism professors at colleges and universities, including the University of Alabama, did not appreciate ESPN play-by-play announcer Brent Musburger´s observation during last Monday´s BCS championship game telecast that Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron´s girlfriend, a former Miss Alabama, was beautiful. Sue Carter, a professor of journalism at Michigan State, told the The New York Times it was "extraordinarily inappropriate to focus on an individual´s looks," and that Musburger´s comments were a "major personal violation." Carter made these comments even though Katherine Webb, whose beauty Musburger praised, has said she was flattered by the comments.

Four years removed from serving two terms as George W. While in office, Cheney routinely batted away shrill liberal critics who callously vilified him as some all-powerful Sith Lord manipulating the levers of government from above, but in the new Sundance Film Festival

The private companies hired by the state organization to make the calls have done quite well, however. Following a 95-minute summit at the White House, the NRA issued a curt press release vowing never to surrender. The Wall Street Journal profile on Rubio’s amnesty plan makes me want to take piano lessons or learn ice sculpture — because it’s Groundhog Day for immigration policy, and it’s like yesterday never happened. I don’t mean that politicians should necessarily be chastened by past defeats. There are no lost causes and no gained causes in a democracy (or not many, anyway), and if the side that was defeated by the bipartisan surge of public anger in 2007 wants to try a comeback, that’s the way the game is played. But the specific policies Ned Ryerson

During Christmas week, Jackson announced her resignation effective in January. The previous week DoJ had agreed in litigation to produce certain of her emails on a non-public

ObamaCare´s Health-

Health-insurance premiums have been rising—and consumers will experience another series of price shocks later this year when some see their premiums skyrocket thanks to the Affordable Care Act, aka ObamaCare. The reason: The congressional Democrats who crafted the legislation ignored virtually every actuarial principle governing rational insurance pricing. Premiums will soon reflect that disregard—indeed, premiums are already reflecting it. Central to ObamaCare are requirements that health insurers (1) accept everyone who applies (guaranteed issue), (2) cannot charge more based on serious medical conditions (modified community rating),

Hello, I’m Deb Fischer and I’m proud to represent the state of Nebraska in the United States Senate. For the past year and a half, I’ve traveled thousands of miles all across Nebraska visiting with community leaders and citizens to learn about their views and share my positions on issues. During that time, I’ve heard a single, consistent message over and over again: Washington must cut out-of-control spending. I agree and the American people are right to expect more accountability from their government.

Law enforcement tried to break up a riot in Detroit Saturday morning after 3,000 to 5,000 people showed up for only 1,000 Section 8 housing vouchers. People had lined up overnight waiting for the Wayne County Family Health Services Center to open, and when it came time for the vouchers to be distributed, police said there was a mad rush for the door. Officers couldn´t control the crowd, so event organizers shut the event down and turned off the lights inside the building. Star Lee told CBS Detroit that the scene was complete chaos.

Vive la France. What else can one say to the news that the French are using their military might to push back al-Qaeda-linked Islamist rebels who have taken control of northern Mali–a vast region bigger than France itself? While the United Nations passed toothless resolutions and the U.S. expressed concern but did nothing, France’s President, Francois Hollande, acted. He has dispatched some 400 troops backed by helicopter gunships and fighter aircraft to stop the rebel advance, which threatened to engulf the part of Mali still held by the ramshackle government.

Civilized cultures are mortal; they have a predetermined life span just like an organism. There are numerous examples from antiquity whose skeletal remains are still with us. Each example represents a unique metaphysical enterprise that has expired. We can only imagine what the lives of the peoples were like and wonder at the remnants of the once vibrant cityscapes. The civilization into which we were all born, which has shaped our world view, was itself born on European soil around the turn of the first millennium. Today we stand upon a mature cultural foundation that was built
