Feeding the dolphins at Sea World was a dream come true for 8-year-old Jillian Thomas, until one of the marine mammals bit into her arm, nearly dragging her into the water. Jillian´s mother took video of her daughter, who says dolphins are her favorite animal, feeding them at the theme park´s Dolphin Cove. Jillian was in the middle of her second visit of the day to the friendly looking animals when she made a crucial mistake, lifting a small plate of dolphin food in the air out of excitement, something the park warns people not to do. The toll hikes taking effect Sunday on the Port Authority’s Hudson River crossings are unlikely to be embraced by many motorists, but they are especially unwelcome by truckers, who will see the most dramatic increases. “It’s out of control. I’ll never cross the George Washington Bridge again in my entire life,” said David Irwin, a Michigan-based driver who must now pay $75, up from $65, to drive his five-axle truck across the one-mile span. Only five years ago, the cash toll for his truck was $30. Further increases already approved will push it to $105 by late 2015.

CHINO HILLS, Calif. – Residents of a Southern California suburb are protesting against a hilltop home that they say serves as a maternity center for Chinese mothers paying thousands of dollars to give birth to so-called "anchor babies." Dozens picketed a Chino Hills intersection on Saturday, holding signs that read "No Birth Tourism" and "Not Here! Not in USA!" The city´s mayor tells the San Bernardino Sun that rooms in the house have been rented out to pregnant Chinese women until they give birth. Protesters say they don´t want to see a business in a residential area.

President Obama loves to insert himself in other people’s biographies. He also loves to honor people, most recently Neil Armstrong and Vice President Biden, with pictures of himself. All. About. Him. His laser-like focus never wavers from his own image. And the narcissism continues: To honor the 57th anniversary of the day Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus, President Obama paid homage with a picture of himself.

He hopped in his car, drove to the Kansas City Chiefs practice facility, thanked Romeo Crennel and Scott Pioli — and shot himself in the head in front of his coach and general manager around 8:10 a.m.

MEXICO CITY - The presidents of Colombia and Nicaragua on Saturday both said they hoped to avoid war and use dialogue instead to solve a dispute over a recent U.N. court ruling that shifted some of Colombia´s resource-rich water to the Central America country. The Hague-based International Court of Justice (ICJ) earlier this month shocked Colombia by giving a large expanse of its fishing and potentially oil rich maritime territory to Nicaragua while handing some disputed islands to Colombia in a binding ruling. Nicaragua´s economic exclusion zone in the Caribbean was expanded by the ruling,

The outing seems to be part thank you to Clinton – who campaigned heavily for the president – and part strategy session for McAuliffe, who is personally close to Clinton. This is the 107th time Obama has been golfing as president and the 15th time this year. After avoiding the fairways during a reelection campaign that portrayed him as a warrior for the middle class, Obama has returned to golf

Why do some atheists embarrass themselves year after year trying to eradicate Christmas from American culture? Why do they make themselves societal hemorrhoids during this hallowed season? Is it because they are crusaders for equality, secularism’s saviors and humanism’s heroes? I’m sure that’s what they tell themselves when they’re pouting on their couches all alone on Christmas Eve after every single one of their friends has dumped them for being a rabid jackass.

However, running in parallel is another culture on the rise -- one far less well-identified, which bodes ominously not only for the GOP´s future prospects, but, more importantly, for the democratic process itself.(snip)Pseudo-idealism is a term coined by the Australian biologist Jeremy Griffith to describe apparently charitable behavior that on scrutiny is revealed as selfish, because the giver is engaging in it only so that he or she can feel good about him- or herself.

The 2012 presidential election victory (by fact, by fraud, or by both) will be America’s decision of the current millennium. The nation is now divided. Not between or among the classes promoted by the Democrats who have routinely sorted groups by race, income, wealth, digital access, and a thousand other sub-classes in their unending search for victims to label, save, and subjugate. No, not talking about all those. Because there are only two classes now: “Christians” and “Romans”.

But he wanted the Jackson contest to coincide with municipal elections already planned for April 9 so he had to seek lawmaker approval to change the timeline. Lawmakers approved legislation for the date change. Quinn says the move saves taxpayer money.

"Doma ... is one of the uglier blemishes on your record, an act of indisputable discrimination that codified unequal treatment of gay men and lesbians," Bruni wrote, calling the law "a nasty bit of business."
