There are all kinds of reputable pollsters whose results never seem to get anyone at the corrupt Politico excited enough to launch a headline -- this includes Scott Rasmussen. But man alive, the corrupt Politico sure does love them some left-wing pollsters, especially PPP, which is associated with the Daily Kos and SEIU. You would think that would be bad enough, but the corrupt Politico just hit a new low by disguising as serious news an affirmation of strategically leaked internal polling from the pro-Obama Super PAC Priorities USA.

Today's personal income report may not get much attention for a lot of reasons. If a piece of government data falls in a forest and nobody's around because they're bracing for Hurricane Sandy, does it make a sound? But investors and consumers should not completely ignore the latest figures for September on consumer spending and saving. Personal expenditures rose 0.8% last month, well ahead of the 0.4% increase in personal income. As a result, the saving rate fell to 3.3% from 3.7% in August. This is the third consecutive month of declines in the savings rate. As recently as June,

On Saturday, NewsBusters asked if it would be fascinating if Barack Obama's interview with MSNBC's Morning Joe ended up being an easier one than he recently got with the ladies of ABC's The View. We got our answer Monday, and in the end, co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski asked absolutely nothing of the President that could be perceived as a hardball (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary). After Brzezinski set the taped interview up, her first question to the President was, "Why has it been so easy for critics to say

The presidential campaign has featured plenty of talk about terrorism in the Middle East, but one lawmaker is warning that the federal government is ignoring a growing Hezbollah presence in Mexico, with the Lebanese terror group increasingly joining forces with drug cartels. One report shows hundreds of thousands of Middle Easterners living in Mexico, and a small percentage of them may be radicals using routes established by drug networks to sneak into the U.S. (Snip) "I don't have a lot of faith in the Department of Homeland Security," said Myrick. Erie, Pa. - The Republican campaign bus roared into the party headquarters parking lot in the northwestern Pennsylvania town of Erie on a chilly afternoon for a rally that had all the trappings of a close contest. Hundreds of people wearing Romney-Ryan buttons and hats, plus one man carrying a “NObama” sign, crammed inside the headquarters and cheered loudly as party officials blasted President Barack Obama. Volunteers manned telephone banks imploring people to vote. Why the Republican hubbub in a state that’s voted Democratic in presidential elections for two decades? They think it might be in play.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Gov. Chris Christie says some people are stranded in Atlantic City and he's blaming the mayor. Christie says Mayor Lorenzo Langford erred by allowing people to shelter on the barrier island rather than moving them inland. "So I asked these people to leave, for some reason, the mayor, in his initial conversation with the public, told him he didn't want his people leaving Atlantic City, so you have people staying," Christie said. (snip) Anyone left on that island is stuck there and will have to ride it out until Tuesday.

Back in August, an enormous floating mass of pumice was spotted in the South Pacific Ocean off the coast of New Zealand. New evidence of changes on the seafloor confirms an erupting undersea volcano created the sprawling rock raft. New Zealand scientists aboard the research vessel Tangaroa recently mapped the underwater volcano, Havre Seamount, which erupted on July 19 and was thought to have sent pumice rocks floating over a stretch of ocean 8,500 square miles. Mayor Rahm Emanuel spent the weekend campaigning in Ohio for President Obama – but you won’t get the mayor’s press team or the Obama press team to say just where he spent his time, whom he met with and what he had to say. We've asked. A Google search reveals a cookie crumb trail of events for the Chicago mayor in Ohio this weekend. Emanuel visited suburban Cleveland, Youngstown and Toledo during a trip through the Rust Belt swing state currently acting as Obama's firewall. He may have been among the final campaigners.

Has the relentless basher of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, conservatives in general and undecided voters on HBO's "Real Time With Bill Maher" really been flipped? U.S. Sen. Scott Brown is pulling out of the fourth and final debate of the Senate campaign. A Brown spokesman said the Republican incumbent decided not to participate in the campaign "out of concern for the hardship faced by people in the path of Hurricane Sandy." The campaign said Brown felt it was not appropriate to go forward with a political debate when a disaster strikes. Just last week, Brown pledged to attend the debate and even offered Democrat Elizabeth Warren a ride to the debate in his truck.

President Obama has received one of the most aurally pleasing forms of endorsement with less than 2 weeks away from the election. Stevie Wonder has released “Keep Moving Forward,” a song urging American citizens to vote while reminding them of President Obama’s accomplishments and why he should be given four more years. Over an entrancing, snake charmer, Bollywood-like beat, Stevie sums up the President’s reelection campaign in four minutes and eight seconds. “Keep moving forward, we can’t afford to go backwards now,” he sings. He touches on Obama's removing of US troops from Iraq

I’ve written previously about the opportunity that the Democratic Party seemed to have in recent years to woo libertarians into their camp. Even right-leaning libertarians were frustrated by the Bush administration’s spending and some of the national security infrastructure put in place after September 11. In addition, the surging support on the left for gay marriage and other social issues seemed to present an opening if the Democrats nominated in 2008 an even modestly pro-market candidate. They didn’t, and instead nominated Barack Obama, who promised to increase the federal government’s reach into private life, enact a top-town government-run

It’s embarrassing enough that Democrats held their 2012 convention in North Carolina, a state that Mitt Romney will probably carry. Adding to the "uh oh" factor: the Charlotte host committee raising money for the Democrats' convention has come up $12.5 million short of its original fundraising goal, according to election filings from the FEC made public Oct. 15. Of the amounts still owed to public and private venues and vendors, the host committees owe $161,000 to the City of Charlotte — $133,000 for convention center operations and $28,000 for volunteer shuttles. The Charlotte Observer reports that,

AccuWeather CEO Barry Myers urged the National Hurricane Center (NHC) to reverse its decision not to issue hurricane or tropical storm warnings for Sandy north of North Carolina. "To indicate that there is a landfalling hurricane and to issue warnings about it is the most effective thing that can be done to warn the public," Myers said. There has not been one hurricane watch or warning issued by the National Hurricane Center for New Jersey despite the anticipated landfall of Hurricane Sandy near Atlantic City this evening.

Last Thursday, Hugh Hewitt interviewed John McIntyre, principal contributor to Real Clear Politics, for an overview of what all the recent wave of polling data tells us. The transcript of their interview is here. The two takeaways were this: 1) In the ten most recent national polls included in RCP’s average, one number was remarkably consistent – Barack Obama’s number is pegged at 47%. Asked what that told John McIntyre, he replied, “[Obama's] likely to lose.” 2) Hugh questioned J-Mac what he made of Ohio numbers that don’t necessarily square with the rest of the national numbers,

Traffic in and out of airports and train stations from North Carolina to Boston have virtually shut down today, and may not be back in service until later this week. More than 10,000 flights have been cancelled as a result of Hurricane Sandy, according to FlightAware, effectively shutting down commercial air traffic along the East Coast. These cancellations are creating a ripple effect that is being felt across the entire country, forcing delays as far west as Seattle and San Francisco. Sandy is even grounding planes in Europe where flights to the U.S. are being canceled because
