Barring some dramatic change in the final ten days or so, Mitt Romney will win the popular vote in the 2012 presidential election. In the 22 national head-to-head polls with Romney conducted in the month of October, Obama has hit 50 percent once, 49 percent four times, 48 percent three times, 47 percent eight times, 46 percent once, and 45 percent five times. (He hasn’t hit 48 percent in a national poll since October 20.) Mind you, in most of these polls Obama has trailed narrowly, with Romney at 48 to 50 percent,

During a 20-minute interview with President Obama aired on Thursday's NBC Rock Center, host Brian Williams devoted a total of 1 minute 36 seconds to the subject of the terrorist attack in Libya. At the same time, four segments of soft coverage of the President's re-election campaign received a combined total of 2 minutes 19 seconds. The promotional fluff included the President stopping by a pizza shop in Iowa (1 min 3 sec), appearing on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno (30 sec), having singer Katy Perry perform at a rally in Las Vegas (31 sec), and

Newt Gingrich is predicting that this election will be a near-landslide victory for Mitt Romney. “I believe the minimum result will be 53-47 Romney, over 300 electoral votes, and the Republicans will pick up the Senate,” the former House speaker said Thursday night on Fox News’s “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.” Gingrich, who vied for the GOP presidential nomination earlier this year, named several swing states where he’s expecting success for Romney and his running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan, including Wisconsin, Virginia, Florida and North Carolina. Gingrich added that Michigan and Pennsylvania are “starting to be in play.”

Cleveland - “I watched that speech that Obama gave, the victory speech in Millennium Park in Chicago, and it was, like, one of those defining moments,” says Bob Carroll, a 23-year-old from Westlake who was a student at Miami University in Oxford in 2008 when he voted for Barack Obama. Carroll says the campus was overtaken with Obamania back then. “There was that excitement, that hope and change,” Carroll says. “Everybody was swept up. And I’m completely guilty of it.” Carroll’s life has changed a lot in the last four years. He left Miami U and worked,

There is an old saying that success has a thousand fathers, but failure is an orphan. That gives a lot of insight into the sequestration clause in last year’s debt-ceiling deal, which has not just left Barack Obama’s own Secretary of Defense warning about its “devastating” impact on the military, but also economists warning about the damage it will wreak on the economy. Obama tried to dodge responsibility for the sequestration when Mitt Romney criticized him for it during the final debate, claiming that “[t]he sequester is not something that I’ve proposed. It is something that Congress has proposed.”

On yesterday’s America Live, father of Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods – who was killed in the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya – talked with Megyn Kelly about the current administration’s handling of the situation. Today, Woods returned to the program to react to breaking news exclusively reported by FOX revealing that officials denied military requests to provide assistance three separate times during the seven-hour attack on the consulate. It was Tyrone Woods who disobeyed those orders to stand down in order to come to the aid of his fellow Americans …

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, which endorsed Barack Obama for president in 2008, has reportedly decided not to endorse any presidential candidate in 2012. Sources say the paper is not eager to experience the same kind of heat it received after endorsing Republican Governor Scott Walker in the recall election earlier this year: I asked editorial page editor David Haynes about this and he replied in an email: “I’m writing a column on our decision for the Sunday paper. We may post that early (Friday). As a point of history: The JS did not endorse in the 2000 presidential election,

A shrieking Chris Matthews on Thursday smeared the Republican Party, comparing the abortion stances of candidates such as Paul Ryan and Richard Mourdock to those found under Sharia law. The hyperbolic Hardball anchor snarled, "I don't like to comparing anything to Sharia, but there's something about this theocratic notion that we're going to apply all our philosophical beliefs, our metaphysics, our religious training and turn it into law and turn it into criminalization." [See video below. MP3 audio here.] Matthews continued, "And it's not quite like stoning, but it has that same sort of impulse which is we're

Now we know why civil rights groups like the NAACP, ACLU, and the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights are so upset about election integrity groups like True the Vote monitoring the polls on November 6. Pat Moran gave us a clue yesterday. Moran revealed on James O’Keefe’s undercover video why these groups have been so dishonest, ugly, and desperate to smear True the Vote and keep them out of the polls. Simply, the “election protection” operation of these civil rights groups was seen, at least to Moran, as the final step in committing voter fraud.

According to The New York Times, Romney's speech today, coming just eleven days before the election, will be a closing economic argument framing the race

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama said in an interview released on Thursday that the next important step for making the financial sector safer is to make sure executive pay is less closely tied to risky bets. In an interview to be published on Friday in Rolling Stone magazine, Obama said that despite passage of Dodd-Frank financial reform legislation, there is more to be done to make financial markets safe after the damage caused by the crisis of 2007-2009. "The single biggest thing that I would like to see is changing incentives on Wall Street and how people get Link repaired by staff

On his show tonight, Sean Hannity highlighted President Obama‘s “R-rated” attack on Mitt Romney when he called his Republican rival a “bullshitter” in a Rolling Stone interview. He asked how the man who used to run on the idea of optimism and away from fear-based campaigning is now distracting from the real issues creating controversy over things like Big Bird. John Sununu said that Obama’s use of profanity showed the president has “no class” and he was trying to “appear… cool” to the magazine’s audience. He argued that Obama is not someone who young children could consider their

U.S. economic growth picked up in the third quarter as rising consumer outlays and a surge in federal government spending more than offset weaker business investment, falling exports and drought damage, offering a mixed picture of the recovery just weeks ahead of the presidential election. The nation's gross domestic product—the broadest measure of goods and services produced by the economy—grew at an annual rate of 2.0% between July and September, the Commerce Department said Friday. Economists polled by Dow Jones Newswires had forecast 1.8% growth. Friday's figures are the final GDP reading ahead of November's election

Long before the scrunchies, and constant critiquing of her various political hair styles, Hillary Rodham Clinton was a Sixties college graduate wearing striped pants and John Lennon-style glasses. Today marks her 65th birthday, and to commemorate, LIFE magazine has released a series of previously unpublished black and white images of a then 22-year-old Miss Rodham, taken by Lee Balterman at her suburban Park Ridge, Illinois, home in the summer of 1969. The candid photographs of the current U.S. Secretary of State, former First Lady, and champion of women worldwide, were taken less than two weeks after she graduated,

The Young and Powerful for Obama had hoped to fill Cafeina Wynwood with song and drink and raise a few dollars along the way when it went dark just after 6 p.m. Those already in attendance were told by security to drink up and leave because it was too dangerous.

On Friday, Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough took a look at President Barack Obama‘s current place in the polls, assessing that things could be difficult for the President if numbers remain as they are. After all, he pointed out, Americans have had four years to get to know the President and to gauge whether they support the job he’s doing. Here’s what he said: If the President is sitting at 47 percent in the polls, boy, I’d be shocked if he won. I’ve seen he’s in 48 in some of these polls. So that’s my gut. That said,
