Gore's Current TV Up For Sale

Al Gore's Current TV is up for sale. According to the New York Post, there has been enough interest in the television channel nobody watches let alone heard of that CEO Joel Hyatt has decided to shop around for offers.“Current has been approached many times by media companies interested in acquiring our company,” Hyatt told the Post. He's apparently had three inquiries. "As a consequence," said Hyatt, "we thought it might be useful to engage expertise to help us evaluate our strategic options.”

With less than two weeks left before election day, it is frighteningly clear that there has never before been a more critical choice between two candidates for president; between what America has been up until 2008 and what it will become if President Obama is reelected. Now we know that our choice goes beyond big government vs. small government; fiscal irresponsibility vs. fiscal sanity; national security weakness vs. peace through strength; energy shortages and dependence vs. energy independence; joblessness and dependence vs. jobs and self-reliance; a sinking economy with catastrophic debt vs.

Obama's Homeless

Those of us who lived through it will never forget the left's unceasing campaign blaming Ronald Reagan for the homeless in the 1980s. It was a vicious campaign, replete with the typical name-calling and nasty hyperbole. To this day, liberals haven't let go. "Reagan deliberately created 'homelessness,'" (Snip) There are more homeless right now, at this point in Barack Obama's presidency, than there were at this point in Reagan's presidency. That's significant because the homeless, at this point under Reagan, were used by liberals to torpedo Reagan's reelection bid. And yet, today, liberals are completely silent about the homeless under Obama.

Please come in, have a seat. May I call you Debbie? So what's troubling you today? Yes. Yes, I understand. I hear this story from women all too frequently these days. While he was wooing you he seemed like such a good listener, as if he really cared. He knew all the right things to say. It was enough to make a girl swoon. I know: His vows seemed so sincere. He seemed like he'd be such a good partner. And it turned out that all he cared about was your "lady parts." I know, Debbie, that this may seem like a terrible coincidence

Mental Hospital Voter Sign-Up Questioned

Cherry Hospital, a state-run adult inpatient psychiatric facility in Goldsboro, welcomed a federally funded nonprofit organization to conduct a voter registration drive of mental patients, likely a violation of state law. Moreover, a memo from a hospital administrator indicated the nonprofit, Disability Rights North Carolina, assisted patients in completing absentee ballots, which may have been illegal as well. Records from the Wayne County Board of Elections obtained by Carolina Journal show 34 persons using Cherry Hospital’s address — 201 Stevens Mill Road in Goldsboro — are registered to vote.

The arrest of over 53 people in the United Kingdom is the beginning of the end for once-great Britain. The leaders of the English Defence League (EDL), Tommy Robinson and Kevin Carroll, were among those arrested, as well as Paul Weston of the British Freedom Party (BFP). I spoke with Kevin Carroll about his recent arrest and that of Robinson and Weston, and he told me the appalling details. Carroll told me that British authorities tried everything in the book to stop him from running for police and crime commissioner (PCC) for the Bedfordshire Police Authority.

Obama's Second-Term Plan
Is Nothing But A Stage Prop

Election 2012: Anyone wondering why President Obama waited to reveal his second-term agenda should read his "plan." It's nothing but a stage prop full of recycled policies, failed ideas and stuff he ignored in his first term. [snip] But since he's waving around his 20-page, seven-point (two more than Romney's!) plan at every campaign stop and acting like it's a credible strategy to create jobs, we feel it deserves a careful reading. Here's what we found.

New S.C. immigration unit

COLUMBIA--A new state immigration unit is working largely in secret, avoiding public oversight and refusing to release information about the work it does. The S.C. Department of Public Safety, which oversees the Immigration Enforcement Unit, will not reveal any details on cases the unit has handled in its first few months of operation. Public Safety spokeswoman Sherri Iacobelli said in a statement Thursday that “Like any investigative unit, when we give specifics of these cases, we potentially compromise our ability to get to the root of some of these larger, underlying issues.”

Despite the poor economy, high unemployment, and the overall state of national malaise, Barack Obama has been hinging his prospects for reelection solely on the fact that the architect of 9/11, Osama bin Laden, is dead. Rather than giving most of the credit to Seal Team Six, who actually risked their lives by entering the global terrorist's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, President Obama has spent months extolling his own steely determination. Few would argue that after September 11th 2001, George W. Bush's handling of the terrorist attack on American soil is what likely won him a second term. Be it

When historians look back at the presidency of Barack Obama, they will not begin with his campaign announcement in May 2007. They will not start with his election to the Senate in 2004 or with his celebrated speech to the Democratic National Convention that year. Instead, these historians will identify the beginning of the Obama phenomenon in the antiwar speech he delivered in Chicago, on Oct. 2, 2002. To understand Obama’s political career, these historians will say, you must first understand the visceral opposition of the Democratic base to the decisions made by President George W. Bush.

Hurricane Sandy, which left 21 people dead as it barreled through the Caribbean, could likely metamorphose into frightening storm that is one part hurricane, one part winter squall, and one that experts say could cause $1billion in damages. Experts say the tempest--dubbed Frankenstorm--has a 90 percent chance of hitting the East Coast of the U.S., having the potential to wreak havoc with heavy winds, rain, flooding, and downed trees and power lines. In fact, longtime weatherman Chad Myers, who works for the NOAA, wrote: ‘After 26 years in TV weather and two years with NOAA, Sandy may pose the greatest

British officials have rejected US requests to use UK military bases for the growth of forces in the Gulf - as fears continue to grow over Iran’s nuclear capabilities, it was reported last night. The Americans are also said to have asked to use British bases in Cyprus--and fly from US bases on the British territories of Ascension Island in the Atlantic Ocean and Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. But British ministers have referenced legal advice from the Attorney General, insisting Iran--which is still denying any plans for nuclear weapon development--does not pose ‘a clear and present threat’.

Hospitals are paid millions to hit targets for the number of patients who die on the Liverpool Care Pathway, the Mail can reveal. The incentives have been paid to hospitals that ensure a set percentage of patients who die on their wards have been put on the controversial regime. In some cases, hospitals have been set targets that between a third and two thirds of all the deaths should be on the LCP, which critics say is a way of hastening the deaths of terminally ill patients. Mitt Romney said it best in the last debate when he informed the President that, "attacking me isn't an agenda," which prompted the Obama campaign to immediately release what they call a plan for the second term. This 20-page repackaging of speeches notwithstanding, President Obama remains perhaps the only president in history to run for reelection who not only can't talk about his record but also can't discuss his real agenda for a second term. Now it's not that he can't because he doesn't have any ideas about what he wants to do.

President Barack Obama’s bad October isn’t just jeopardizing his own reelection hopes. House Democrats making a last-gasp push to capture the majority say their prospects have dimmed in recent weeks, too, as Mitt Romney has surged into contention.Democrats say their congressional candidates have seen a downturn over the last month or so, as the presidential race has tightened. Whether Obama’s widely-panned performance in the first debate is the culprit or if the shift was the result of inevitable tightening in the final weeks of the election is a topic of debate among party strategists.

Greensboro, North Carolina- The skinny black girl skips sylph-like up the stairs to the polling station, taking the white marble steps two-at-a-time in her eagerness to cast the first vote of her young life. President Obama has spent far more lavishly on White House state dinners than previous chief executives, including nearly $1 million on a 2010 dinner for Mexico's president, according to documents obtained by The Washington Examiner. Presidents have long used formal dinners to court foreign heads of state and to dish out fine food and wine to reward political, financial and show business celebrities and supporters. But current and former government officials said the documents obtained by The Examiner point to an unprecedented upsurge in White House spending on such events. For those following the polls, the evidence of the last few weeks has been pretty obvious. Following the first presidential debate, Mitt Romney began to eat into the lead that President Obama had amassed. In the last week, he has caught and passed the president in most national polls, especially those without samples that are not overestimating the number of Democrats who will turn out to vote. The race remains very close, and the president is still ahead or tied in a number of the important swing states. Evidence that the Obama campaign thinks it is trailing is everywhere,

This administration's proudest foreign policy boast is the assassination of Osama Bin Laden. But the Benghazi fiasco and the simultaneous mob burning of our Cairo Embassy by Al Qaida on the eleventh anniversary of 9/11/01, proves to radical Muslims that Osama bin Laden has won. His jihad has gone from strength to strength, gathering more militant fanatics than we killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Osama bin Laden is now a hero, and Barack Obama is a weakling who never stops trying to surrender and apologize.

Republican members of Congress are demanding to know why the State Department selected a prominent anti-Israel Muslim leader to represent the U.S. at a recent human rights conference in Warsaw, Poland. Salam al-Marayati, president of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), was recently selected by President Barack Obama’s administration to deliver remarks at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s (OSCE) annual human rights conference, a 10-day gathering focused on the “promotion of tolerance,” according to the group’s website. The selection of al-Marayati quickly drew condemnation from Jewish leaders and others who objected

As an artifact of the diminishment of President Barack Obama, it is hard to top his newly released pamphlet, “The New Economic Patriotism: A Plan for Jobs and Middle-Class Security.” The plan purports, first, to be a plan, and second, to outline a second-term agenda distinct from his first-term agenda. It fails on both counts. It cobbles together his current policies with some ill-defined new bullet points to barely cover 20 pages largely devoted to nice pictures of the president. Make no mistake: What the Obama agenda lacks in substance, it makes up in graphic design. The pamphlet has as much gloss

Washington – The presence of international monitors observing next week's presidential and Congressional election has caused a firestorm among voter ID law supporters and, particularly, the Texas attorney general. The reservations came after the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) announced it is sending dozens of monitors from around the world to monitor the upcoming presidential and Congressional elections. The OSCE, which sends monitoring teams to elections around the world, has been observing U.S. elections since 2002, when the Bush administration invited them after the hotly contested 2000 presidential election.

U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice has been pretty low-key over the past three years. With Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s personal appeal, strong personality and extensive relationships in Washington, there hasn’t been much opportunity for Rice to make her mark. Her opportunities to appear on Sunday news shows have been pretty rare. Everyone has known for at least a year that Clinton intends to leave her job. And, if President Obama wins reelection, there would be a fierce contest within his administration to be nominated to take her place.

Is it a big story that the president of the United States, in an interview with a respected historian, referred to his rival on the record as a “bulls-----er”? Well, of course not, because he’s a liberal Democrat. Move along, nothing to see here. In 2000, when then-candidate George W. Bush was caught on a mic calling New York Times reporter Adam Clymer an “a--hole,” it was a three-day story. But Bush was a conservative Republican attacking a liberal reporter (author of a hagiographic book about Teddy Kennedy). Therefore, he had to be punished.
