Why Romney Doesn’t
Need a Poll Lead in Ohio
National Review Online, by Josh Jordan    Original Article

The race for Ohio is slowly tightening, but Mitt Romney does not hold a lead in a single poll in the current Real Clear Politics average (he is tied in two). Two polls from Time and CBS/Quinnipiac have grabbed headlines by showing Obama a five-point lead in each. Romney is chipping away at Obama’s poll lead, but the Democratic advantage in party-ID has increased across these polls. When looking at the polls in Ohio, it is becoming entirely possible that Mitt Romney should be able to win Ohio without

For somebody who claims to be known as a ‘firecracker’, Maureen Sullivan is a woman who has been burned more than her fair share. Aged 61, she has been swindled out of $168,000 by a conman, lost a $5m fortune and missed out on a stock market jackpot worth double that. She has gone bankrupt with just $50 in her hand, been sued for defamation and had a string of toyboys, one of whom got her name tattooed on his right arm as a token of his devotion.

Deconstructionist culture warriors of the left continue their relentless assault on western civilization. It’s impossible to cover it all in a weekly, 800-word column, so here are just a few tidbits. A new California law outlawed therapy to help people overcome same-sex attraction. Signing the bill, Governor “Moonbeam” Brown declared: “These practices have no basis in science or medicine.” Reparative therapy, as it’s sometimes called by conservative therapists, starts with the premise that homosexuality is, as Catholic Church puts it: “intrinsically disordered.” It’s not normal.

Dear Lord God – We, Your people, who acknowledge Your name seek Your face, and ask forgiveness. We, Your people, acknowledge we have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed. We acknowledge Your Judgment upon our country. You have pulled back because we have removed You from our schools, and court rooms, and public forums. You have allowed godless leaders to assume positions of leadership in all institutions. God deliver us now. We have insulted you, by replacing Your holy person with the subtle false gods of fairness and secular humanism. We are being told that

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said she will serve only one term. But in a new interview with The Wall Street Journal, she suggested it was possible — if “unlikely” — that she would stay in the post a bit longer. “A lot of people have talked to me about staying,” Mrs. Clinton said, declining to be more specific. When asked if current events will force her departure date to slip, she said it was “unlikely,” but for the first time left open that possibility for the short term.

U.S. Rep. James P. Moran’s son Patrick resigned from his father’s campaign after being caught on camera earlier this month appearing to give advice on how to commit voter fraud to a conservative video journalist. Project Veritas, the group headed by conservative activist James O'Keefe, circulated the video Wednesday. Patrick Moran, who had been serving as his father’s field director, said in a statement that he never took the person videotaping him seriously and was simply humoring him.

It's almost certain that President Obama released his agenda, titled "The New Economic Patriotism," the night before a Donald Trump blockbuster announcement designed to derail Obama's reelection. He had to have been hoping dearly the Trump stink-bomb would take all the oxygen away from any second-day stories about the "plan for jobs and middle-class security" the campaign published. It's not just that the plan is the first voters have heard of any Obama has for his second term — two weeks before Election Day — but that the brochure is about as cheesy a cheap shot as they come.

Media Bias: What kind of person would call for manipulation of markets to fool the press into thinking his candidate was in the lead? A sleazy politico? Nope. Try Ezra Klein, a Washington Post writer. Wow. 'If I ran a campaign, I'd have people make big buys on InTrade after debates, conventions, etc. in order to persuade press that we won," tweeted Klein on his Twitter account Tuesday. Such underhanded thinking might be recognizable coming from a nasty political operative alongside advice on how to stuff ballot boxes or intimidate voters.

Former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell on Thursday endorsed Barack Obama in his bid for re-election, citing the Democratic president's efforts to wind down the war in Afghanistan and tackling terrorism. "And so I think we ought to keep on the track that we are on," the Republican, who also backed Obama in 2008, told "CBS This Morning." The move comes just days after Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney clashed over foreign policy in the third and last presidential debate ahead of the November 6 election.

Straight from the heart of the auto bailout, and the city Mitt Romney once said should go bankrupt, the Detroit News endorses... Mitt Romney. In that context, these lines may be the hardest for President Obama's supporters to bear, even if the paper did endorse Sen. John McCain in 2008 and has long gone Republican: A country built on rugged individualism finds itself increasingly under the thumb of a federal government that is ever expanding its reach into the lives of its citizens.

In a previously off-the-record interview with the Des Moines Register, President Obama argued that the economic recovery he's overseen isn't as bad as his Republican opponent, Mitt Romney, claims. "In many ways, because of the actions we took early on, we're actually ahead of pace in the typical recovery out of a recession like this," Obama said.[snip] But the data are clear that Obama's economic recovery — which started in June 2009, five months after he was sworn in — has been worse than any recovery since the Great Depression.

Barack Obama is a Liar

Calling someone a liar is a serious accusation. This is why, aside from the unwritten contract allowing for mutual prevarication, politicians are so reluctant to do it. And not just anyone is a liar. Legend has it that our first president said, "I cannot tell a lie," but, being only human, G.W. no doubt could and certainly did, at some point. A liar, however, is someone who lives and breathes the lie; someone who specializes in the art of artifice; someone to whom lying is his first recourse, not his last. Such a man is Barack Obama.

During the Civil War, when the union's preservation and slavery's abolition were in doubt, President Lincoln roused the nation with his dream “of a place and a time where America will once again be seen as the last best hope of earth.” In rekindling our founders' vision, Lincoln helped assure that America would become the freest and most prosperous nation on earth, a status that successive U.S. presidents have dutifully maintained, or they were cast aside by voters. As Americans Think Again about President Obama, consider that no president has won re-election amid such economic stagnation, declining incomes, high gas

CBS chose not to air the clip for over a month--but did air Obama’s attack on Romney that same night.Obama told Kroft that the attack in Benghazi was different from the violent protest at the U.S. embassy in Cairo: "You're right that this is not a situation that was

There are two great mysteries about US politics as far as I’m concerned. Why do Europeans love Barack Obama so much? And why do European Obama-supporters think anyone in the United States remotely cares what they think? Two recent polls show how much more popular Obama is around the world compared to his rival. If Britain was the real 51st state, according to a GlobeScan/PIPA survey published on the BBC website, it would easily hand Obama its 100 electoral college votes, Britons favouring Obama by 65 per cent to Mitt Romney's 7. And Britain is considerably less Obamaist than France
