Here's one thing we can be sure of about the Benghazi affair: almost everything we've been told since by the mainstream media is a lie, invariably one designed to shore up the creaky and desperate Obama administration. Consider how quickly the story was spun by Obama's amen corner in the liberal MSM. It should, according to any objective news sense, have been a shocking tale of how a woefully unprotected ambassador was murdered in cold blood by Al Qaeda affiliates. Instead, it almost immediately became--of all things--an excuse to demonstrate why Mitt Romney was unfit to be president. Here, for

Fort Lauderdale - The Texas attorney general, Greg Abbott, has threatened to arrest international election monitors invited by liberal groups to observe the conduct of next month's presidential vote in states accused of attempting to disenfranchise minorities. Abbott has written to the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe warning that its monitors have no right to monitor the vote even though they have observed previous US elections. "The OSCE's representatives are not authorized by Texas law to enter a polling place. It may be a criminal offence for OSCE's representatives to maintain a presence within 100 feet of a

Credibility: When President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton stepped into the Rose Garden the morning of Sept. 12, they likely knew the attack on our Benghazi consulate the day before was organized by terrorists. They knew because they were likely privy to a flurry of emails among administration officials discussing the attack in real time. Yet they said nothing about what they knew and, worse, had done nothing to mount a rescue despite American forces being less than an hour away during the seven-hour blitz. According to Fox News, 300 to 400 national security

The presidential race in New Hampshire remains neck-and-neck, with Mitt Romney stretching to a two-point lead. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely New Hampshire Voters, taken the night after the final presidential debate, finds Romney earning 50% support, while President Obama has 48% of the vote. One percent (1%) likes some other candidate, and another one percent (1%) is undecided.

“Posting something on Facebook is not in and of itself evidence,” she says, responding to last night’s e-mail leak about Ansar al-Sharia taking credit for the attack. True enough, but that’s not the only link to AAS. As I reminded you yesterday, intercepts caught members of the group talking to members of Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb during and after the attack. Libyan eyewitnesses saw the group’s founder outside the consulate while it was happening; he later admitted to having been there while insisting that he was merely directing traffic. There’s plenty of reason beyond the

A speech this Friday, then the last jobs report next Friday. I wonder what trivial issue Team O will seize on tomorrow to steer the media away from those economic bookends. Back to the car elevator thing, maybe? We haven’t heard about that in awhile. Mitt Romney will deliver a significant speech on the economy Friday, according to a top campaign aide, when just 11 days remain in the presidential race. His speech will be delivered in Ames, Iowa, and is aimed at “reinforcing the big choice in November,” a top campaign adviser told CNN… “We’ve had four debates and he

With just 13 days to go until the presidential election, Mitt Romney continues to tighten the race with Barack Obama, according to the latest daily tracking poll from ABC News and the Washington Post. Overall, the poll shows the race unchanged from Tuesday, with the candidates essentially tied among likely voters. But deeper within the results, the poll shows Romney opening up his lead over Obama on key economic questions, particularly among white male voters. For the first time since August, the poll found that likely voters now trust Romney to handle the economy over Obama, 50-44 percent.

Yesterday morning, a few hours after the debate, Obama crashed on InTrade, from around 61 to 57. Last night? Another one. He briefly crashed to 51, before stabilizing where he is now in the mid-50s. There is some talk that there was some speculative manipulation attack. Who knows. But for people who keep score on this, Obama is dropping like a stone.

The first in a slew of Army units designed to expand American military presence across the globe is heading Africa Command, tasked with forging and increasing military cooperation with U.S. allies on the continent, according to Deputy Defense Secretary Ash Carter. The Army's initial regionally aligned brigade assigned to the command will be part of an overarching Army realignment to focus on specific hot spots across the globe, Carter said in a Wednesday speech at the Association of the U.S. Army's annual conference in Washington. Members of the Army's 2nd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division will rotate

Patrick Moran, the son of Virginia Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) and the field director for his father's reelection bid, resigned abruptly Wednesday after a video linked him to voter fraud. The video — released earlier in the day by Project Veritas, a conservative organization headed by the Republican activist James O’Keefe — revealed that the younger Moran had weighed options for helping an undercover operative cast votes on behalf of 100 people who allegedly weren't planning to vote. "There will be a lot of voter protection, so, if they just have, you know, the utility bill

Just one hour after the seven-hour-long terrorist attacks upon the U.S. consulate in Benghazi began, our commander-in-chief, vice president, secretary of defense and their national security team gathered together in the Oval Office listening to phone calls from American defenders desperately under siege and watching real-time video of developments from a drone circling over the site. Yet they sent no military aid that might have intervened in time to save lives. Why? The attack began on September 11, at about 10:00 p.m. Libyan time (4:00 p.m. in Washington). Hurricane Sandy's rampage through the Caribbean today and Thursday is only the beginning: Forecasters say the storm could morph into a monstrous nor'easter and slam the U.S. East Coast next week — or it could miss us entirely. If it hits the Northeast the day before Halloween, as one computer model shows, it would be a disastrous storm, bringing coastal flooding, drenching rainfall, high winds, downed trees, power outages, travel mayhem and even Appalachian snow, according to AccuWeather meteorologist Alex Sosnowski. Could that happen? Unfortunately,

Kennedy, who was dating actress Cheryl Hines while in a divorce battle with wife Mary, said he’s not moving out of New York. “I’ve been living in a different house [in New York] for many years,” he said. “I’m going to stay in the house I’ve been living in with my children.”

LOCKHART, Texas - Drivers, start your engines! The green flag has dropped on the last leg of a Texas toll road with the nation's fastest speed limit. With a 3-foot-long pair of ceremonial scissors, Texas Gov. Rick Perry snipped a ribbon Wednesday on the privately built stretch of the Texas 130 toll road , famous for its 85-mph speed limit. "There are very few people that get up and say they love road construction, but I think everyone is happy when you open a road up," Perry told those gathered for the dedication.

Liberal cable anchor Chris Matthews, who in 2010 used the phrase "shuck and jive," on Wednesday assailed Sarah Palin as racist for using the phrase "shuck and jive." Referring to a Facebook post the former Alaska governor wrote about Obama and Libya, Matthews ranted, "You know, a dog whistle is a dog whistle...A trumpet call is another." The MSNBC host insisted that "shuck and jive" has "a particular ethnic connection" and "to throw it at the president as an ethnic shot is pretty blatant." Cedar Rapids, Ia. – It’s not hard to find stylistic differences between the campaigns of President Barack Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney, but an especially noticeable one comes in live music. Obama frequently has live acts perform ahead of his campaign appearances – from local bar bands to some of the biggest names in pop music. And for Romney … well, not so much. That changed during his rally at the Eastern Iowa Airport on Wednesday, though. Opening up for Romney was Ricky Skaggs, the country, bluegrass and gospel star

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 50% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns the vote from 46%. Two percent (2%) prefers some other candidate, and two percent (2%) are undecided. This is the second straight day with Romney enjoying a 4-point advantage. Prior to that, with the exception of the convention bounces, neither candidate had led by more than three points for months. However, it is not clear whether this represents a lasting change in the race or is merely statistical noise.

The Obama campaign is invoking former Vice President Al Gore's loss in the 2000 presidential race to encourage Americans to vote. The ad, "537", warns that the margin of victory in the 2012 presidential race could be only a few hundred votes, similar to former President George W. Bush's margin of victory in Florida over Gore during the 2000 presidential race. "Five-hundred thirty seven: the number of votes that changed the course of American history," a voice-over in the ad says. "The difference between what was and could have been.

Boca Raton, Fla. - On an electoral map that still poses challenges for Mitt Romney, one heartening trend for the Republican nominee can be found in Florida, whose 29 electoral votes constitute the largest prize among the battleground states. In recent weeks, the Sunshine State has moved clearly in Romney's direction. After President Obama led in every Florida poll released in the second half of September, Romney has been ahead in nine of the last 10 surveys conducted, leading his opponent by 1.8 percent in the latest RCP Average of polls here.

Color North Carolina light red. CNN is moving its classification of the swing state from true "toss up" to "lean Romney." Four years ago then Sen. Barack Obama became the first Democrat since 1976 to carry North Carolina in a presidential election. And this summer the Democrats held their nominating convention in Charlotte. While the Obama campaign continues to run ads in North Carolina, spending just over $1.2 million to run spots over the past week, according to Campaign Media Analysis Group, which tracks ad spending for CNN, the president hasn't made a campaign stop in the state since his
