Lafayette Elementary School has decided to not allow students to dress up in costume for Halloween this year. Two young men were killed while at least seven other people including a 16-year-old boy were wounded during shootings Friday and Saturday across the city. Early Saturday in the Rogers Park neighborhood,a 34-year-old man was walking on a sidewalk in the 6900 block of North Ashland Avenue about 2:30 a.m. when someone inside a red sport-utility vehicle fired shots and hit him in the abdomen, according to Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.He was taken to Saint Francis Hospital and his condition was not known. No one has been arrested for the shooting, Greer said.
