Ryan’s Benghazi Surprise
National Review Online, by Larry Kudlow    Original Article

The irony of ironies: The Biden-Ryan debate was more about foreign policy than the economy and jobs. And yet another irony: Paul Ryan, an expert on all things fiscal, revealed a much better knowledge base of foreign policy than anyone thought existed. Shows how smart and well-rounded he really is. In fact, Ryan’s Benghazi slam, right out of the chute, won him the debate. This terrorist attack is going to be a huge presidential-race issue. Americans are furious at the Obama-Biden-Clinton stupidity and mismanagement surrounding the tragic Benghazi deaths.

A Republican House candidate from Oklahoma said Saturday that Mitt Romney will help small businesses that President Obama is burying in costly red tape. “If we’re serious about keeping jobs here and bringing jobs home, we need to stop burdening small businesses with excessive and unnecessary regulations. We need to get government out of the way,” said Markwayne Mullin in the GOP's weekly address. “Mitt Romney gets it; he’s made supporting small businesses a key plank of his jobs plan. And the Republican majority in the House has passed several bipartisan, common-sense proposals to address excessive regulations

A billion dollar children's show empire will lead a march of puppets on the Mall on November 3 to demonstrate support for continued government assistance to PBS stations. Plans to save Big Bird, the fuzzy yellow character on U.S. public television's "Sesame Street," from possible extinction are taking shape in the form of a puppet-based protest next month dubbed the "Million Muppet March." The demonstration is planned for November 3 at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., three days before the general election. Before the presidential debate between Democratic President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney

"Rudeness is the weak man's imitation of strength," the longshoreman cum philosopher Eric Hoffer once observed. Hoffer died in 1983, so he probably wasn't referring specifically to Joe Biden's performance in last night's debate. Still, the observation is fitting. In addition to the vice president's boorishness, a lot of observers noted that he frequently smiled and chuckled at inappropriate times--even during a discussion of Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons. The Republican National Committee quickly put out an ad consisting of nearly a minute of such clips followed by the caption: "Vice President Biden is laughing . . . Are you?"

President Obama touted his administration's bailout of the U.S. auto industry as American car companies are beginning to sell their 2013 model year vehicles."Every year around this time, American car companies start rolling out their newest, shiniest models, hoping to entice you into buying one," Obama said in his weekly address. "And this year is no exception. They’ve got some pretty good-looking cars coming out. "But something is different this time around – and it starts with the auto companies themselves," the president continued. "Just a few years ago, the auto industry wasn’t

Danville, KY - Three hours before the vice presidential debate here on October 11, Stephanie Cutter, a top spokesman and deputy campaign manager for Barack Obama, previewed Joe Biden’s explanation for the administration’s ever-changing narrative on the deadly 9/11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. In short: The intelligence made us do it. The reason administration officials repeatedly told the country a story that was untrue—in virtually all its particulars—is that they got bad information from the intelligence community. Or so they say. At the debate, moderator Martha Raddatz noted “there were no protesters” that day in Libya,

Have Americans had enough yet of Hillary Clinton being placed on a phony pedestal as the political star who would beat any presidential candidate, were she only to agree to run? How is it that Mrs. Clinton continually polls as a most desirable and trustworthy leader? Just this past July, a Gallup poll found that Mrs. Clinton’s favorability rating was 66%, a full 12% higher than that of Barack Obama! What has Hillary Clinton done to invite such high levels of praise and esteem? HillaryCare? Stuck by her husband (who also polled at 66% favorability!) who lied, straight-faced

But something is different this time around — and it starts with the auto companies themselves.

Before becoming vice president, Joe Biden declared his intention to “restore the balance” between his office and that of the president. In his view, Dick Cheney had essentially created a separate power base, nearly independent of the Oval Office. Biden’s vice presidency was going to restrain those impulses. He would integrate his role and staff more smoothly and fully with the White House, more in the style of Walter Mondale during Jimmy Carter’s presidency and, to a degree, Al Gore in the Clinton years. But Biden has hardly taken a back seat. Instead, he has become President Obama’s workhorse

In the film of Paint Your Wagon, Clint Eastwood sang: I talk to the trees But they don’t listen to me… Neither do the media left. They were all agreed that Clint’s empty chair routine was a bust. A month later, Obama shows up for the first debate as the empty chair. So, in that apparently disastrous and embarrassing appearance at the GOP, did Clint have anything to say about Joe Biden? Why, yes, he did: Just kind of a grin with a body behind it. And what does Biden show up as?

It was not until after I arrived in New York on Friday night by way of bus that I learned the Yankees had beat the Orioles 3-1 in Game 5 of the ALDS to advance to the ALCS against the Detroit Tigers. The ALCS commences tomorrow night here in NYC. I would have much preferred to see the O's & the A's. After all, the Tigers and Yankees have faced each other in the ALDS in 2006 and 2011. Since 1995, the Yankees have been in the post-season every year (save for 2008).

A hit documentary film challenging President Obama will be screened in tax-exempt churches, whether the IRS likes it or not. 2016: Obama’s America, which takes a critical look at the president and includes an interview with his half brother in Africa, has already grossed a strong $33.5 million at the box office. Now those behind 2016 are creating a new distribution window, if you will: Licensing the movie to churches at the tail end of its theatrical run and before it hits DVD or VOD.

It sure looks like Vice President Joe Bidenput the blame on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, his potential 2016 rival, for the security failings Benghazi. “We weren’t told they wanted more security,” Biden declared. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney backed Biden up, saying it’s a State Department (i.e. Hillary) issue. Will Hillary now retaliate and protect herself by leaking word that the White House did too know? Will her husband continue to tour the country trying to pull Obama’s bacon out of the fire (as he did at the convention) even as Obama points a finger at his

The leader of al-Qaida has called for holy war against the United States and Israel over an anti-Islamic video which triggered mayhem in the Muslim world. Ayman al-Zawahiri praised as demonstrators who breached the US embassy in Cairo and the attackers who stormed the US consulate in Benghazi last month in violence linked to the film as "honest and zealous". The Benghazi attack on 11 September, in which the US ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens, and three others were killed, is now believed to have been carried out by al-Qaida-linked militants.

Hello, I’m Markwayne Mullin. I was born and raised here in eastern Oklahoma. I met and married, Christie, my high school sweetheart here. I run a small business. And I’m the Republican candidate for U.S. Representative here. ‘Representative’ is a title I take very seriously. A lot of people call them ‘congressmen,’ but I don’t want to be a man of the Congress. I’m asking to go to Washington to represent the values and priorities of my neighbors. And right now, after nearly four years of broken promises and failed policies, their top priority is jobs.

ST. PETERSBURG -- There are two million Hispanic voters in Florida. It's a constituency that has the power to shift a tight election, so both political parties have tried to sway the Hispanic vote their way. President Barack Obama has held a comfortable lead with Hispanics. But now there has been a significant shift in the polls. An exclusive Tampa Bay Times/Bay News 9 statewide poll shows many Hispanic voters dropping their support for Obama. Last month, 52 percent of Hispanic voters polled said they would vote for the president. That has now dropped to 44 percent.

State officials in Illinois have revealed that they paid over 1,100 inmates more than $2 million in unemployment benefits while they are in jail. According to the Associated Press, the Illinois Department of Employment Security said one inmate in the Cook County jail in Chicago was able to collect nearly $43,000 in unemployment benefits, however most of the inmates were paid less than that. While the fraud happened in county jails all around the state, the majority of the fraud occurred in Chicago’s Cook County jail system where nearly 296 inmates appear to have collected over $722,000 in benefits.

If demographics is destiny, the Republican Party has a rendezvous with irrelevance — unless its policies change. This is the message some Republican leaders have been sending in the closing weeks of the presidential campaign. “The demographics race we’re losing badly,” Senator Lindsey Graham recently told the Washington Post with characteristic bluntness. “We’re not generating enough angry white guys to stay in business for the long term.” The numbers tell the tale. Minorities have accounted for 85 percent of the country’s population growth over the past decade, according to the US Census Bureau. A record 24 million Hispanics

Let's roll the tape. On Iran, Mr. Biden broke new ground, though most of the media missed it. To a question about the Administration's willingness to stop the Tehran regime from going nuclear,
