New Ad Questions Obama:
'Politics Before Patriotism?'
Weekly Standard, by Daniel Halper    Original Article

THE WEEKLY STANDARD has obtained this new political ad that knocks President Obama for saying the al Qaeda terrorist attack in Libya is a bump in the road: The thirty-second spot will soon be airing in the battleground state of Virginia, and possibly elsewhere. It is courtesy of Special Operations OPSEC PAC, which is made up of former military and intelligence officials. "President Obama wanted credit after our military killed bin Laden," the ad's narrator says. "Highly classified secrets were leaked, endangering real heroes and their families. But when terrorists killed SEALs and diplomats in Libya, this

NBA star Antoine Walker blew through the $110million he earned in a successful basketball career so quickly that he was forced to file for bankruptcy just two years after he retired. Walker, who was forced to come out of retirement and play in the obscure development league, says bad real estate deals, gambling debts and 14 years of living the high life have left him all but broke today. It is a far cry from his glory days in the NBA, where he was named to the all-star team three times and won a championship in 2006.

Essex County — Rocio Rivera pleaded guilty to voter fraud last year when she admitted to fraudulently submitting absentee ballots in an effort to elect Teresa Ruiz to the state Senate for Essex County in 2007. As part of a plea deal, Rivera agreed to resign from her job as a clerk in the Essex County Sheriff's Office. She never did. In March, a judge sentenced the 52-year-old Rivera to three years' probation for third-degree absentee ballot fraud. Still, Rivera did not resign from the sheriff’s office, where she has worked for 15 years.

Imagine you hire a company to fix your roof. They proceed to do shoddy work, miss every promised deadline and go wildly over budget. Would you then hire them to add a new room to your house? No, of course not. But that is exactly what President Obama is asking the American people to do in his latest television ad. "If I could sit down with you in your living room or around the kitchen table," Obama says directly into the camera, "here's what I'd say." He then goes on to outline a new "economic patriotism,"

On the campaign trail, Barack Obama is claiming that if reelected, he would save Medicare while Mitt Romney will kill it. Yet the Washington Post's Bob Woodward said on MSNBC's Morning Joe Wednesday the president "is proposing cutting Medicare" (video follows with transcript and commentary):BOB WOODWARD: He is tuned in to his own ambivalence, and in the reporting on this, it's very clear he realizes we face a problem that is not going to go away, that he's got to address. Memphis- Perched in a director's chair placed in Graceland's Jungle Room, rockabilly pioneer Wanda Jackson was at a loss for words. Looking around the Hawaiian-themed space that Elvis Presley had used as a den and home recording studio, she appeared overwhelmed. "Knowing Elvis like I did, this is a bit much," she said. "Everything that was fun about him is crystallized in this house. It's Elvis, but he's not here." Back in 1955 and '56, the singer-guitarist toured with Presley and dated him. Today, Ms. Jackson, 74, is one of the last original female rockabilly stars still performing and recording.

I recently had the the opportunity to talk with Ted Nugent about gun rights, liberty, and the dangers liberalism poses for America. Throughout the course of the interview Nugent repeatedly stressed the absolute necessity of electing Romney/Ryan in 2012 and indicated that we can just look around to us see what terrible results President Barack Obama's policies have had on our nation. Obama and his cohorts are doing to us what other liberals have done to places like Detroit, where a once thriving city has been gutted from within by "liberals [who] train people to be dependent,

On MSNBC "Morning Joe" today, deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter also weighed in on the "buried" comment controversy and said "we're not blaming our predecessor by any means."

In the months before Barack Obama made his now-famous statement that the U.S. government cares less about majority-black New Orleans than other American cities, his longtime spiritual advisor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, made similar claims in public. The Daily Caller has obtained weekly bulletins from Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Church of Christ in which Wright condemns the federal government’s Katrina policy as racist. Until now, those remarks have never been reprinted.

Jared Bernstein, former chief economist and economic adviser to Vice President Joe Biden, said Tuesday that President Barack Obama’s 2013 budget was “the Holy Grail of deficit reduction.” “Here I think I have some good news,” Bernstein said at an event at George Washington University with former Sen. Alan Simpson (R-Wyo.) about the U.S. economy and fiscal problems. “If you actually look at the budget that the president submitted in 2013, which takes a lot from Bowles-Simpson, maybe not enough for Simpson himself and we can hear about that. But it takes a lot from Bowles-Simpson.”

President Barack Obama’s reelection effort is not blaming the sputtering economic recovery of the past four years on former President George W. Bush, his deputy campaign manager insisted Wednesday. “We’re absolutely not doing that,” Stephanie Cutter said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “In fact, we’re taking credit for the 5.1 million private-sector jobs that have been created over the past four years despite being handed the worst economy since the Great Depression. We’re taking credit for the million jobs that were protected under the president’s efforts to save the auto industry and the increase in manufacturing jobs

Businesswoman and philanthropist Susan Crown, a former Obama supporter and a member of one of Chicago’s most influential families, told an audience of over 300 women and men, “In the midst of the Obama administration, I became profoundly disappointed, disillusioned and actually a little angry.” Democrats, Republicans and self-described independents recently came together to hear how one of President Obama’s own prominent supporters is now using her considerable talent and energy to get Gov. Mitt Romney elected the next President of the United States. They gathered at a modest complimentary luncheon in the ballroom of a hotel in Naperville,

We now have the US government dictating who is and who is not sufficiently religious to escape the ObamaCare abortifacient mandate. The Obama administration is claiming that a dedicated Christian publisher of Bibles and ministry material is insufficiently religious to qualify for an exemption to the contraception mandate in the president’s health-care overhaul. According to a federal lawsuit filed Tuesday in the District of Columbia by Tyndale House Publishers, the company has been refused a “religious employer” exemption because the Health and Human Services Department categorically maintains that any for-profit publisher is not a “religious employer.”

But in her new book, “Mugged: Racial Demagoguery from the Seventies to Obama,” Ann Coulter says it is Maddow, her MSNBC colleagues and other liberals that are “the real racists.” On Mark Levin’s Tuesday radio show, Coulter elaborated on that view and pointed to the way Maddow had introduced Melissa Harris-Perry (then Melissa Harris-Lacewell)

JACKSON, Mississippi -- Attorney General Jim Hood says the Department of Justice has asked for more information on Mississippi's voter identification law. Hood said in a statement Tuesday that the bottom line is that the law will not be pre-cleared by the Justice Department in time for it to be enforced for the Nov. 6 election. Mississippi's law provides for a wide range of photo identifications that could be used at the polling places. Supporters of voter ID say it's needed to help ensure the integrity of elections by preventing people from voting under others' names.

When the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution, they made it clear that the only time the president would have the authority to use military force without prior authorization from Congress was when, as James Madison recorded in his notes from the Constitutional Convention, it was necessary to "repel sudden attacks." It was thus fittingly symbolic that when Barack Obama announced he had ordered the U.S. military to intervene in Libya's civil war, he did not do so from the Oval Office or the well of the U.S. House of Representatives,

Letters obtained exclusively by Fox News appear to show the State Department refused to get involved when the company tasked with protecting the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, raised security concerns, the latest indication that warning signs may have been ignored in the lead-up to last month's terror attack. The letters pertain to a dispute between Blue Mountain Libya, the security license holder in Libya, and its operations partner Blue Mountain UK, which trained and provided the local guards. Former Vice President Walter Mondale was reminiscing about his defeat at the hands of Ronald Reagan in the second largest lopsided electoral vote total in history, 525-13. [Snip] Some people think Mondale's defeat occurred on election day, Nov. 6, 1984. But Mondale told me that he'd realized his doom weeks before the election. It happened during his debate with President Reagan 28 years ago this month. With a straight face and laser focus, the Republican incumbent had launched his pre-planned zinger: "I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent's youth and inexperience."

Unless Congress acts, the trust funds that support Social Security will run out of money in 2033, according to the trustees who oversee the retirement and disability program. At that point, Social Security would collect enough tax revenue each year to pay only about 75 percent of benefits. That benefit cut wouldn’t sit well with the millions of older Americans who rely on Social Security for most of their income. Where they stand: President Barack Obama hasn’t laid out a detailed plan for addressing Social Security. He has called for bipartisan talks on strengthening the program, but he didn’t
