If you're going to believe the polls released from CBS/New York Times this morning -- you know, the polls the media's currently using to beat Romney senseless with and to depress Republican enthusiasm, you have to believe that the turnout advantage for Democrats over Republicans will blow away every previous record and common sense. It's that simple. Because these polls are not only telling us that Romney is losing OH, PA, and FL by insurmountable margins; these polls are also telling us that Democrat turnout is projected to blow away every modern record

VANDALIA, Ohio – Trailing President Obama by 8 percentage points in this pivotal battleground state, Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and running mate Paul Ryan are pulling out all the stops on a two-day, five-city bus tour in hopes of making up important political ground. Romney flew to Ohio after spending the morning talking foreign policy and education in New York City. He and Ryan kicked off the bus tour with an afternoon rally here. Both projected confidence to a crowd of more than 3,500 people who waited at the Dayton airport for hours to see the candidates.

The anti-Islam film trailer that the White House has repeatedly blamed for sparking unrest in the Middle East had nothing to do with the attack that led to the death of U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, that nation's president told NBC News. Libyan President Mohamed Magarief said the deadly Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi, which also resulted in the deaths of three other Americans, was more likely pegged to the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. "Reaction should have been, if it was genuine, should have been six months earlier. So it was postponed until the 11th of September,"

Multi-millionaire Ann Romney appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night, professing her love for wholesale retailer Costco, gushing, 'we love Costco!' The wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney told the NBC host that the pair regularly visits the chain, where customers can buy any number of products in bulk. She also said that the election of her husband, a Mormon, would signal that 'prejudices are left behind' just as the election of President Obama had done. The mother-of-five took time out of her campaign schedule to speak with the late night talk show host, saying

Despite the trillion-dollar deficits that keep piling up and recent American deaths in hot spots around the world, President Barack Obama said on Tuesday that Iowans should have confidence that he can whittle the debt and maintain peace and security throughout the world. Obama said if he’s fortunate enough to win a second term, his re-election will send a message to Republicans that Americans want them to follow his strategies, and that includes aiding the economy by spending on education and roads and bridges.

NEW YORK — After an hour of fielding questions about Syria, sanctions and nuclear weapons, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had enough. Now, he said, it was his turn to choose the topic — his "new order" which will inevitably replace the current era of what he called U.S. bullying. Continuing his hectic pace of media appearances and diplomatic meetings, Ahmadinejad presented an air of boredom when it came to the hot topic on everyone's mind — Iran's nuclear program and the possibility of impending war. Whether it was feigned or sincere, he said he would much rather

When it comes to the film Innocence of Muslims, our government and the media use a narrative mired in contradictions and false statements provided by the filmmaker, who himself is an untrustworthy source. If we stick to what can be proven we might obtain the possibility that terror supporters produced the film. Muhammad Al Dura and Paliwood are two cases in point, showing the type of stunts used by Palestinian terrorists. So lets examine facts instead of the filmmaker’s fiction:

Military officials said one of the bombs had caused damage to the main building of the General Staff. The anti-regime Free Syrian Army said they had carried out the attack and claimed dozens had been killed. The army said no-one had died. A BBC reporter in the city said gunfire could still be heard, amid reports that a fierce gun battle had broken out. Syrian state TV quoted a military source saying no senior personnel were harmed by the explosions, but some of the

Matt Damon's new film Promised Land sounds really promising. It's about a cynical young man sent by a large wind farm company to a lovely village in rural Pennsylvania to seduce the locals with tales of the massive sums of money they'll make if they sign a deal to have huge wind turbines built on their farmland. Dollar signs flash in the greedy hicks' eyes. This wind farm scam is crazy: no way would they have made that much money in their entire lives from just farming. Every one rushes to Damon: "Where do I sign?"

Bacon lovers are advised to start bulk buying the breakfast favorite or switch to an alternative, as 'a world shortage of pork and bacon next year is now unavoidable,' warns an industry trade group. So, you ask, tell me why Mitt Romney will make a good president. For background, you say you are a voter who has watched Mitt Romney for a long time and just, well, you know, you just don't like him. (Snip) To which the best response is: Get over it. First, we're not in a position to wait for perfection. Second, the skills of a good candidate do not necessarily translate into the skills needed for the presidency. As Barack Obama and Jimmy Carter both proved, a good campaigner can be a godawful president.

If Ann Romney really is getting tougher, there was no sign of it during her first appearance on The Tonight Show. She did show up in a black leather getup, but upon further inspection there was some frilly pattern stamped into the fabric. As usual, much of the interview focused on the Romneys home life, though her revelation that Mitt is so "cheap" that he turns off the water heater when they leave the house wasn't the most humanizing story she's told. As for Ann's outburst last week, in which she said her husband's critics should "stop it"

The upcoming Presidential debate on October 3 is the most important single event in Mitt Romney’s political career. The elite news media is doing everything they can to convince Romney’s supporters that the election is lost. Americans will be tuning in that evening to see if Governor Romney turns this media narrative on its head. This will be the first time Americans will see President Obama and his challenger side by side. This will be the largest audience to watch the two men side by side without editing or distortion by the media. If Romney wins this debate,

HOBYO, Somalia – The empty whiskey bottles and overturned, sand-filled skiffs littering this once-bustling shoreline are signs the heyday of Somali piracy may be over. Most of the prostitutes are gone and the luxury cars repossessed. Pirates while away their hours playing cards or catching lobsters. "There's nothing to do here these days," said Hassan Abdi, a high school graduate who taught English in a private school before turning to piracy in 2009. "The hopes for a revitalized market are not high." Armed guards aboard cargo ships and an international naval armada that carries out onshore raids

Elizabeth Warren’s Senate campaign is, I think, going rapidly down the drain. On top of her affirmative action fiasco comes another scandal: it appears that she has been practicing law in Massachusetts without a license for some years. Credit William Jacobson, who, like Warren, is a law professor, for the discovery. Jacobson has been one of the most effective members of the blogosphere over the last couple of years, and this story is a tribute to his dogged investigation. His initial post is here. Jacobson establishes that Warren is not licensed in Massachusetts, and never has been;

The late U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy filed bills to require bankrupt companies to honor their pension agreements to retirees and specifically cited the company Warren worked for, LTV Steel, for using bankruptcy to shirk payments to retired workers. “Many companies are using bankruptcy courts to abandon their pension plans,” Kennedy said during a speech on the Senate floor

Beginning two weeks ago and going on for 12 days, the White House was adamant that the horrific Sept. 11 attacks on our embassies in Egypt and Libya, which resulted in four dead Americans (one an ambassador) and included burnings of Barack Obama in effigy, were caused by outrage at a 14-minute "film" that had been made by an obscure private citizen and seen only by a handful of people on YouTube. The film, about as offensive to Muslims as "P**s Christ" is to most Christian (and many non-Christian) Americans, was seen by the administration as a perfectly plausible reason

Over in National Journal, pollsters respond to the accusation from John McLaughlin (the pollster, not the television host) reported here last week: John McLaughlin, a Republican pollster and consultant to GOP candidates, told the conservative National Review last week that Democrats are lobbying media pollsters “to weight their surveys to emulate the 2008 Democrat-heavy models.” “The intended effect is to suppress Republican turnout through media polling bias,” McLaughlin said. Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., is unconvinced.

So let’s fact check the Fact Checker. The facts After hearing from sources in the intelligence community that President Obama was not attending his daily intelligence meeting on a daily basis, I asked researchers at the Government Accountability Institute, a nonpartisan research group headed by Peter Schweizer (who is also my business partner in a speechwriting firm, Oval Office Writers) to examine at Obama’s official schedule.
