Fox News host Tucker Carlson´s book, "Ship of Fools: How a Selfish Ruling Class Is Bringing America to the Brink of Revolution," has vaulted to No. 1 on the New York Times best-seller list, unseating Bob Woodward´s "Fear: Trump in the White House" after four weeks in the top spot. Woodward being toppled from the top spot is notable, as it was Barnes & Nobel´s fastest-selling book in over three years. On its release day of Sept. 11, for example, it sold more than one copy per second. Carlson took to Twitter to thank readers for the success of the book.

Federal authorities have arrested and charged a New York state man who they say planned to build a 200-pound bomb and detonate it on Election Day on the Mall in Washington. Paul M. Rosenfeld, 56, of Tappan, N.Y., was charged Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York with unlawfully manufacturing a destructive device and interstate transportation and receipt of an explosive, according to the FBI. Officials said he planned to use the bomb to kill himself and gain attention to a political belief called sortition, in which politicians are chosen at random instead of by elections.

Justice Kavanaugh unlikely

Justice Brett Kavanaugh is unlikely to heed calls by critics to step aside from certain politically charged U.S. Supreme Court cases in which his fairness and independence might be questioned after a divisive confirmation fight, according to legal experts. U.S. law requires justices to step aside when there is a conflict of interest or genuine question of bias, but it leaves the recusal decision in the hands of the individual justices. Kavanaugh, Republican President Donald Trump´s conservative nominee who was confirmed by the Senate on Saturday to a lifetime job as one of the nine justices, took part in

The RINO is an interesting political phenomenon and relatively new. It stands for Republican in Name Only, meaning that although the office-holder is a registered Republican, his voting record and public statements are too often aligned with liberal causes. Charlie Baker, the current governor of Massachusetts, is a classic example of the RINO. He openly and proudly supports the Bathroom Bill (a Mass. ballot question that will allow any person of any sex or "gender identity" to use any public bathroom he chooses); refuses to come out strongly against sanctuary cities; and will not champion the rollback of Massachusetts´s onerous

Singer Kid Rock, Kanye West and other musicians arrived at the White House Thursday for the signing of the Music Modernization Act. The Music Modernization Act ensures “artists who released records prior to 1972 are paid royalties from digital services, and streamlining the process for those services to obtain music-licensing rights,” the White House said. Kid Rock, a YUGE Trump supporter, got a little snarky with a reporter as he was walking into the White House Thursday morning. “Kid Rock, should Trump fire Jeff Sessions?” yelled the reporter. Kid Rock shot back, “He should fire you!” VIDEO: (Tweet/Video) A list

US Postal Service wants 5-cent

Washington — The US Postal Service is seeking to increase the price of its first-class stamp by 5 cents to 55 cents to help stem its mounting red ink. If approved by regulators, the 10 percent increase to the cost of mailing a 1-ounce letter would be the biggest since 1991. The price of each additional ounce would go down, from 21 cents to 15 cents. The proposed increase would take effect in January. It comes as President Donald Trump has criticized the Postal Service for “losing a fortune” by not charging higher shipping rates for online retailers such as Amazon.com.

Melania Trump is one of “the most bullied” people on Earth she asserted in a wide-ranging interview set to air Friday. “I could say that I’m the most bullied person in the world,” the first lady told ABC News correspondent Tom Llamas in Africa, where she traveled solo to promote her “Be Best” campaign, which raises awareness about online bullying. Pressed by Llamas about her assertion, she pulled back a bit. “One of them — if you really see what people are saying about me,” she said without citing specific examples. Sen. Heidi Heitkamp perfectly summed up Hillary Clinton’s insistence that Democrats can’t be civil to Republicans until they regain control of Congress. Quoth the North Dakota Democrat: “That’s ridiculous.” Actually, “ridiculous” is an understatement. Clinton — clearly desperate to regain a foothold in national politics — has openly embraced the far-left mob and its calls to wage relentless war. Her justification: Republicans, she suggests, started it — and she’s been unfairly on the receiving end for 25 years. So, she told CNN, “Democrats have to be tougher,” because “

America stands at a precipice. It´s a moral precipice of our own making: We´re not facing any external existential threat, or any serious economic crisis. Nonetheless, we´re at each other´s throats in a shocking and unique way. At least in the 1960s, serious issues divided us: the national attempt to grapple with legally enshrined racism, the sexual revolution, the Vietnam War. We have no such excuse now. Yet to view the sheer chaos surrounding the confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh is to realize that we may simply have nothing in common anymore, other than our sheer blind luck at having been

Evidence is accumulating that Democrats have seriously overplayed their hands in their treatment of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and their calls for violence. This is the result of the dangerous combination of two factors: 1. Trump Derangement Syndrome has blinded them to the possibility of a significant number of people disagreeing with them. 2. They lack any feedback mechanisms to warn them of the reactions they are provoking, because their allies the mainstream media share their TDS. Moreover, they regard Fox News

Any mention of Campa-Najjar´s rather spectacular terrorist heritage (Grandpa was a top leader of the extremely gruesome Black September terrorist massacre of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics) is brushed off as not his circus, not his monkey, something he´s repudiated,

Everybody did it in Agatha Christie´s novel Murder on the Orient Express, and the same problem bedevils the US stock market today. A dozen co-conspirators killed the victim in the Christie novel. Here are a dozen factors that bedevil the stock market: 1) Bond yields continue to rise even while the broad stock market indices tank an unusual event. That, as I argued earlier this week, is in part due to the overstretching of bank balance sheets, which makes it hard for foreign investors to hedge currency risk in US portfolios. 2) Corporations spend more buying back their own stock than

President Trump, already the most media-accessible president in memory, is talking to journalists almost nonstop as his successes pile up ahead of the midterm elections. Take Tuesday, for example. Mr. Trump opened an Oval Office meeting to the press in late morning to accept the resignation of Nikki Haley as ambassador to the United Nations. Such a high-profile departure ordinarily wouldn’t be a positive for the White House, but the president and Mrs. Haley made clear that the separation was friendly. They took questions from journalists for 20 minutes on a variety of subjects. “Anything else?” the president asked when

The U.S. Supreme Court will allow a North Dakota law requiring voters to produce government ID with a current residential street address when casting ballots to take effect. The decision, which came Tuesday and drew a brief dissent, will affect one November’s most critical Senate races. A group of American Indians challenged the residential street address requirement, arguing that it imposes “impossible and severe burdens on the franchise for Native American voters,” as many live on reservations or otherwise lack ordinary street addresses. A federal judge agreed and prohibited the law. The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals lifted that

Nearly a half-century ago, President Richard Nixon’s secretary of state, Henry Kissinger, established a successful U.S. strategy for dealing with America’s two most dangerous rivals. He sought closer ties to both the Soviet Union, with its more than 7,000 nuclear weapons, and Communist China, with the world’s largest population. Kissinger’s approach was sometimes called “triangulation.” But distilled down to its essence, the phrase meant ensuring that China and Russia were not friendlier to each other than each was to the United States

Ever since Donald Trump wisely scuttled the meaningless Paris Climate Accord last year, climate alarmists have been desperate to revive the public’s interest in this once-dominant political issue. It’s time to update the GOP’s Marquess of Queensbury Rules. If you saw Ruth Bader Ginsburg at Brett Kavanaugh’s swearing-in ceremony, you know that we may need to fill her seat in about 4 1/2 minutes. Naturally, I hope she lives to be 300 — although parenthetically, it seems she already has. The confirmation hearings for Kavanaugh made Robert Bork’s hearings look like a day at the beach. At least liberals only lied about Bork’s judicial philosophy. They didn’t accuse him of being Ted Bundy. The next nomination hearing will make Kavanaugh’s look like an ice cream social.
