Chicago - Detroit authorities on Wednesday ordered drinking water shut off at all city public schools after elevated levels of lead and copper were found in water at more than a dozen buildings with antiquated plumbing systems. Amsterdam’s city council has asked Syrian refugees and civil servants to serve as substitute teachers in order to combat shortages in the classroom. The Dutch capital has been hit by a teacher shortage, which has particularly affected primary schools. Before the summer holidays, schools were looking to recruit 300 teachers, a number which has now dropped to 122. In order to tackle the shortfall, the council said it would draft in 60 civil servants, only four of which are qualified teachers, to help out. It also said 15 Syrian refugees who had previously worked as teachers would teach maths, chemistry and physics.

Drunk driving is bad. Like, very bad. Don’t do it. You put others´ lives in danger if you do. There´s no excusing it. There´s no downplaying it. What’s ridiculous, though, is the attempt to compare former President George W. Bush’s 1976 DUI to Texas Democratic Senate candidate Beto O’Rouke’s 1998 DWI, especially in light of new reporting on the latter. There’s no comparison between the twoHere’s what the Washington Post reported in 2002 on Bush´s DUI: The arresting officer, Calvin Bridges, told The Associated Press in a telephone interview that he recalled driving home from work after midnight and spotting

Continual emphasis on the severity of Canadian politics is needed to understand the latest developments in the U.S-Canada trade negotiations. The Trump administration set a deadline of today for Canada to join the U.S-Mexico trade agreement and make the NAFTA replacement agreement a three-way pact. The concessions needed by Justin Trudeau and Chrystia Freeland to join the agreement were politically devastating. In order for Canada to accept or join, via a NAFTA 2202 modification, they would need to agree to the U.S-Mexico modification terms. Reactions to Ariana Grande´s performance at Aretha Franklin´s funeral were mixed -- but President Bill Clinton and Rev. Al Sharpton seemingly enjoyed the show. Now, before looking at the photos, let´s cut some slack: Clinton´s smile is particularly noticeable because the most of the other men onstage were so unapologetically stone-faced. Several of them appeared dismayed, perhaps because Grande´s dress was just a bit short for a funeral service. (Or just church in general.) Seated next to Clinton was Rev. Jesse Jackson, who was clearly unamused by Clinton and Al Sharpton´s faces. Twitter users were quick to comment on
