Hillary Clinton will use a customized lectern at Monday’s debate to mitigate the glaring height difference with Donald Trump. New photos from inside the Hoftstra University debate hall show two lecterns — a short one and tall one raised internally with plywood. “Clinton is 5’4” and Trump 6’2” and her team wanted the podium modified or a box added for her to stand on so she won’t look short next to Donald Trump,” WABC radio host Rita Cosby emailed with snaps of the doctored podiums after getting a sneak peak inside the Hofstra University debate site. It was not stated which podium would

While white voters are Donald Trump´s stronghold, he´s not winning the country´s largest voting bloc by the same margins as his Republican predecessor, 2012 nominee Mitt Romney. Four years ago, the former Massachusetts governor received support from 59 percent of white voters, while President Obama, who won re-election, earned 39 percent, according to exit polls. Right now Trump is winning 50 percent support, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, while Clinton stands at 39 percent, the same number as President Obama. Among the other two large voting blocs, blacks and Hispanics, Trump is actually performing better than

When Donald Trump began his improbable run for president 15 months ago, he offered his wealth and television celebrity as credentials, then slyly added a twist of fearmongering about Mexican “rapists” flooding across the Southern border. From that moment of combustion, it became clear that Mr. Trump’s views were matters of dangerous impulse and cynical pandering rather than thoughtful politics. Yet he has attracted throngs of Americans who ascribe higher purpose to him than he has demonstrated in a freewheeling campaign marked by bursts of false and outrageous allegations, personal insults, xenophobic nationalism, unapologetic sexism and positions that shift according to

The recent deterioration of George Soros’s public image has been astonishing. Following coverage of his subversive operations across the world – including his efforts to destabilise Poland – now even the establishment media have picked up on his destructive activities, with Bloomberg recently covering his plan to marginalise Israel. Similarly, the list of Soros’s safe havens has also been shrinking dramatically. Until recently, out of all the EU countries, only his native Hungary had the courage to suggest his carefully crafted image of ‘global philanthropist’ may be a smoke screen.

Hillary Clinton plans to "get under Donald Trump´s skin" and provoke him into losing his temper in front of 100 million people at the first US presidential debate, but experts warned the strategy could backfire if she descends to her opponent´s level. Rather than focusing on policy Mrs Clinton´s campaign has decided to turn the epic showdown on Monday night into a referendum on Mr Trump´s temperament and character, hoping to goad him into an outburst that will make him look "unhinged," her allies said. Any wild reaction by the Republican nominee, who has a history of responding explosively to

One day after endorsing Donald Trump for president, Texas U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz refused Saturday to say whether he thinks the Republican nominee is fit to lead the country. In an interview with the Texas Tribune’s Evan Smith, Cruz said he endorsed Trump because the November election is a binary choice between Hillary Clinton and Trump. The junior senator from Texas and unsuccessful presidential candidate said he is voting Trump because he worries Clinton would appoint liberal justices to the U.S. Supreme Court and do damage to the country. Smith asked: “Do you consider Donald Trump to be fit to be president?” Cruz
