Women all across America are planning to festoon themselves with knitted, pink “pussy power hats” during a march on Washington, D.C. — and other cities — scheduled for January 21, the day after Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration. The organizers of the Pussyhat Project hope to make “a powerful visual statement” at the Women’s March on Washington by having a large number of women show up wearing the hats. The “pussy power hats,” which feature perky cat-like ears, are a cinch to make, organizers say. “Knitters, crocheters and sewers of all levels” can make the hats at home — preferably with neon pink

On the day of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration protesters are planning an anti-capitalist march, road blockades and disruptions to inauguration balls. The protests will likely include property destruction, a source with intimate knowledge of the protest plans told The Daily Caller Friday. The blockades are not limited to roads but will also be at every security checkpoint, the source said. The source added that the protesters blockading each checkpoint will represent a different liberal cause such as climate change or money in politics. A group called #DisruptJ20 is the most active in the planned protests for the inauguration.Organizers for #DisruptJ20 are planning

President Obama said in an interview that the First Family will be happy to be out of the White House, and out of the spotlight. Speaking to Steve Kroft on 60 minutes he said that the ´bubbles´ they are in and constraints posed by Secret Service have ´gotten old´. He said: ´Michelle never fully took to the scrutiny. She´s thrived as a First Lady, but it´s not her preference. ´She was the hardest sell, and she never fully embraced being in the public spotlight, which is ironic given how good she is. His days as president are rapidly shrinking, as

President Obama will leave the White House to President-elect Trump on Friday, Jan. 20, and then according to his schedule he and wife Michelle will embark on their final flight board aboard a presidential aircraft to an "undisclosed location." That Friday morning, Obama´s final weekly schedule says the president and first lady will "welcome President-elect Trump and Melania Trump to the White House for tea." Afterwards, the Obamas will attend Trump´s inauguration at the U.S. Capitol. Then the couple will travel to Joint Base Andrews, via helicopter, where Obama will speak to group of staff gathered there "to bid farewell."

A Senate Republican is blasting President-elect Donald Trump´s criticism of Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), praising the lawmaker for his leadership in the civil rights movement in the 1960s. Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) on Saturday seized on Trump´s characterization of Lewis as "All talk, talk, talk - no action," pointing out that his "talk" made a significant contribution in the civil rights movement. "John Lewis and his ´talk´ have changed the world," Sasse tweeted. John Lewis and his "talk" have changed the world.

A growing number of Democrat lawmakers are boycotting Donald Trump´s inauguration this week, in the wake of his remarks about civil rights campaigner-turned-Representative John Lewis over MLK weekend. There are now 17 Democratic Representatives saying they will spurn Trump´s swearing-in in favor of focusing on their constituents or even taking part in protests and ´resistance´ movements. The uptick in furious members of Congress comes after Trump derided Lewis on Twitter Saturday, saying the lawmaker - who once campaigned alongside Martin Luther King Jr - was ´all talk, no action´. Trump´s criticism came after Lewis´s Friday promise not to attend the

The biggest news story of the day, apparently, is the dustup between Rep. John Lewis and Donald Trump, about which I wrote this morning. Although the story has little real significance, the Associated Press, the most influential news source in the U.S., spins it furiously to drive its anti-Trump narrative. Start with the headline: “Trump unleashes Twitter attack against civil rights legend.” Most people only read headlines, and this one gives no clue that it was Lewis, not Trump, who started the fight by saying on Meet the Press that Trump will be an illegitimate president. And Lewis is identified
