Played at weddings, funerals, Olympic ceremonies and even the annual New Year’s Eve celebrations in Times Square, John Lennon’s song “Imagine” has been the all-purpose anthem of sentimentality for 45 years. But if you’re one of those people who secretly hates it, don’t worry — you’re not the only one. Last weekend, British music fan Edward Carter and some friends were casually discussing songs they hated when he decided to extend the conversation to social media. “Dear Twitter,” he posted. “What is the song you most detest and despise? Thank you.” Within 48 hours, the bemused Brit, who had only around 1,000 Twitter

An Alaska lawyer said Justice Clarence Thomas groped her at a dinner party in 1999, a claim that Thomas said is “preposterous,” the National Law Journal reported Thursday. The publication said Moira Smith posted on Facebook about the alleged incident Oct. 7, the night of the disclosure of Republican presidential nominee’ Donald Trump’s taped boasts about grabbing women. The NLJ report said Smith, at the time a 23-year-old Truman Foundation scholar, said that the incident occurred at the Falls Church, Va., home of her boss. She said Thomas grabbed and squeezed her buttocks several times. “He groped me while I

The FBI has reopened its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s secret emails, Director James Comey told Congress in a new letter Friday, heightening the stakes for the Democratic presidential nominee with less than two weeks before Election Day. Mr. Comey said his agents learned of new emails “pertinent” to their probe while working on an unrelated case. He said his agents need to review those messages to see whether they contain classified information and whether they affect his previous decision. In July, Mr. Comey announced that while he determined Mrs. Clinton did mishandle classified information, she was too inept to know the risks

CNN reporter Phil Mattingly said the Hillary Clinton campaign was “stunned” Friday by the news that the FBI was re-opening the investigation into the Democratic candidate’s private email server, adding the campaign plane did not have WiFi and thus the team had no idea about the news until it landed in Iowa. “It’s kind of an incredible thing,” Mattingly said. “The plane did not have WiFi during the entire flight, so you had senior advisers, as well as Hillary Clinton, on the plane, and as the plane landed they were finding out about this.” One Clinton adviser actually told Mattingly

NEW YORK — Hillary Clinton appears on the cusp of a potentially commanding victory over Donald Trump, fueled by solid Democratic turnout in early voting, massive operational advantages and increasing enthusiasm among her supporters. A new Associated Press-GfK poll released Wednesday finds the Democratic nominee has grabbed significant advantages over her Republican rival with just 12 days left before Election Day. Among them: consolidating the support of her party and even winning some Republicans. "I´m going to pick Hillary at the top and pick Republican straight down the line," said poll respondent William Goldstein, a 71-year-old from Long Island, New

When the news hit on Tuesday that the Trump campaign has washed its hands of fund-raising efforts two weeks before the election, the humiliation of the traditional Republican Party at the hands of Donald Trump was all but complete. His refusal to help fill party coffers just as the last push for voters commences — which is an expensive process and requires cash on hand — is the perfect capper to 16 months in which Trump has gleefully terrorized weak-kneed Republican officials, forced them to comply with his wishes and then screwed them. And it’s probably not the capper, not really; with
