SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- A sullen Cam Newton was not remotely interested in speaking with the media after the Panthers lost Super Bowl 50 and abruptly left the podium in the middle of his media session.Newton spent two-and-a-half minutes answering questions and basically pouting before standing up and leaving. In fairness to Cam, you could hear the Broncos celebrating loudly over a thin barrier. But he's not doing himself any favors with the way he handled an admittedly difficult time.

Jeb Bush vowed Monday that he will not scapegoat President Obama for any challenges he faces should he be elected president. “My pledge to you: When I’m president I will not blame Barack Obama for a single thing,” he told listeners at the Nashua Country Club in Nashua, N.H. "The day that I’m sworn into office, I’m on watch — whatever it is." “I am really tired of politicians that blame their predecessors,” the Republican White House hopeful added. "I have a personal kind of feeling about it having watched it for a while. “I hope you want a president

When the Watergate tapes were released, some Americans were dismayed at the many “expletives deleted” that Richard Nixon employed in private conversation. But as historian Stephen Ambrose pointed out, Nixon had insisted that even the milder words “hell” and “damn” be deleted from the transcriptions, creating the false impression that his language was saltier than it actually was. “If my mother ever heard me use words like that,” Nixon explained, “she would turn over in her grave.” No inner check constrained Donald Trump from using the F-word during a presidential campaign rally in Portsmouth, N.H. “We’re gonna have businesses that used

Beyonce issued a strong political statement with her halftime show at Super Bowl 50 tonight with backing dancers dressed as members of armed rights group the Black Panthers. The superstar brought the dancers on for her new single Formation which is being widely touted as a rallying cry for the Black Lives Matter movement. At one point during the song, the supporting performers formed an ´X´ on the field - thought to reference black rights campaigner Malcolm X. Beyonce was widely expected to make a political statement during the halftime show which was headlined by Coldplay and also featured Bruno Mars. Anticipation had

CONCORD, N.H. — Marco Rubio’s robotic debate performance Saturday night sparked an all-out offensive on the campaign trail here Sunday over his authenticity and experience, momentarily halting the momentum of the senator from Florida and further muddling the presidential nomination battle. Just two days before the New Hampshire primary, Rubio drew mockery for repeating a rehearsed line four times during the Republican candidates’ debate, even after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie had ridiculed him for being a talking-point machine. Rubio received scathing reviews on the Sunday talk shows and was needled by some of his opponents. On Twitter, he earned the moniker

The most disappointing moment of Saturday night’s debate came when Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, and Marco Rubio each embraced the idea that women should register with the selective service, making it possible for America to draft women into ground combat. The argument for registration is based on the new Pentagon policy opening up all combat jobs to women. Women have served in non-combat roles for decades without any serious push for selective-service registration ensuing. In fact, the Supreme Court, in Rostker v. Goldberg (1981), has used the fact that men and women have different roles as justification for rejecting constitutional
