Former President Jimmy Carter referred to the United States as the most “warlike country on Earth” last week during an interview with the nonprofit Aspen Institute. “I think the American superpower goal should be to the champion of peace, and to be the champion of human rights, and to be the champion of the environment and to be the most generous nation on Earth,” he said. “Those are the elements that I hope eventually the United States will set as goals. We are the most warlike country on Earth. We are laggard in addressing the problem of global warming, for

Are key Republican leaders in D.C. from the Senate, House and Supreme Court being blackmailed? Tell me you haven’t thought the exact same thing? Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in DC. Rotten like a dead fish left at the front door of a Congressmen’s office by the Obama Crime Family. Rotten like a photo of a Supreme Court Justice with his robe down at his ankles. Because what’s happening just isn’t normal. Please tell me how it’s possible that President Obama and his socialist cabal suffered the most massive and historic defeat in modern political history only 9 months

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz writes in his new book that conservative voters would be “astonished” if they knew what Republican senators were really doing and saying in private meetings on Capitol Hill. “During my time in the Senate, I’ve been amazed how many senators pose one way in public—as fiscal conservatives or staunch Tea Party supporters, for example—and then in private do little or nothing to advance those principles,” Cruz writes in his new book, “A Time For Truth.” “Indeed, if transcripts of our Senate lunches were released to the public, I think many voters would be astonished,” the Republican presidential candidate

In a commonsense decision, the Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal of a case that decided that people registering to vote in federal election don´t have to prove their citizenship. That means that people registering to vote won´t be bullied into proving citizenship, which now seems to be an irrelevant criterion for voting. “I am very pleased, obviously,” said Dolores Furtado, president of the Kansas chapter of the League of Women Voters. “It’s a good feeling because we’re truly trying to help” people get registered to vote. Furtado said the league’s main interest is in increasing participation in the

Under pressure from Hispanic groups, NBC severed all ties with Republican presidential contender Donald Trump on Monday, and according to a report, the network is specifically eyeing minority candidates to replace him on Celebrity Apprentice. In addition to announcing it would be dumping the July 12 Miss USA pageant, NBC announced Trump would not be returning to Apprentice. “At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values,” the network said Monday. “Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump.” TMZ is reporting as an

When the University of Missouri at Kansas City was looking for a celebrity speaker to headline its gala luncheon marking the opening of a women’s hall of fame, one name came to mind: Hillary Rodham Clinton. But when the former secretary of state’s representatives quoted a fee of $275,000, officials at the public university balked. “Yikes!” one e-mailed another. So the school turned to the next best option: her daughter, Chelsea. The university paid $65,000 for Chelsea Clinton’s brief appearance Feb. 24, 2014, a demonstration of the celebrity appeal and marketability that the former and possibly second-time first daughter employs on behalf of

Jeb Bush on Monday became the first presidential candidate to campaign in South Carolina since a deadly church shooting and was immediately drawn into a key subject of statewide debate: whether South Carolina should remove the Confederate flag from the grounds of its state capitol. Bush had already issued a statement in support of legislation to remove the flag but had not discussed the issue openly in public. After a 30-minute tour of a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant here, Bush walked into a room packed with nearly 200 workers. The younger, diverse, mostly blue-collar crowd was not the kind that Republican candidates usually
