More than 300 veteran Republican lawmakers, operatives and consultants have filed a friend of the court brief at the Supreme Court in support of same-sex marriage late Thursday. The amicus brief, organized by former Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman, was filed for the four same-sex marriage cases the Court will hear on April 28 that could legalize the unions nationwide. (Snip) Sens. Susan Collins and Mark Kirk have signed onto the brief, as has Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman. Other notables include former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, retired Gen. Stanley

Supreme Court justices divided sharply Wednesday as they heard a third challenge to Obamacare, grappling with the law’s poorly drafted language and trying to decide how broadly Congress intended for the government to pay subsidies to help Americans buy insurance. The court’s more liberal justices offered vocal support for the Obama administration’s holistic reading of the Affordable Care Act, saying they believed Congress intended for customers in all of the exchanges to be eligible for tax credits even if their states relied on the federal HealthCare.gov exchange instead. But a pair of conservative justices said the law — which says

A House committee investigating the 2012 attack on a U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, has subpoenaed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton´s personal emails, The Associated Press reported. "The Select Committee on Benghazi today issued subpoenas for all communications of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton related to Libya and to the State Department for other individuals who have information pertinent to the investigation," said Jamal Ware, the committee´s communications director in a statement. "The committee also has issued preservation letters to Internet firms informing them of their legal obligation to protect all relevant documents."The announcement comes after it was

Hillary Rodham Clinton’s brother, Tony Rodham, sat on the board of a self-described mining company that in 2012 received one of only two “gold exploitation permits” from the Haitian government—the first issued in over 50 years. The tiny North Carolina company, VCS Mining, also included on its board Bill Clinton’s co-chair of the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC), former Haitian Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive. The Rodham gold mine revelation is just one of dozens featured in a forthcoming bombshell investigative book by three-time New York Times bestselling author Peter Schweizer, according to a Thursday statement from publishing giant HarperCollins. Chelsea Clinton went by the pseudonym Diane Reynolds, and Hillary used the same email account that was dedicated to her work at the State Department to plan her daughter´s wedding, a new report has revealed. At the center of the controversy is Hillary Clinton´s email account - hrd22@clintonemail.com, which was set up a day before she was confirmed in 2009 by a Senate committee to join newly elected President Barack Obama´s cabinet. The New York Times reports that Clinton used the address for everything from official government business to matters relating to the Clinton Foundation, and the State Department confirmed

President Barack Obama’s deputies hid the rapid-fire start of his November amnesty from the Texas judge who is now weighing the amnesty’s legality. The cover-up was exposed March 3, the same day that top GOP leaders pressured GOP legislators to pass a toothless budget bill for the Department of Homeland Security, which doesn’t block funding for Obama’s unpopular and possibly illegal amnesty. Obama signed the funding bill March 4. On Feb. 16, the Texas judge froze Obama’s two-part amnesty, which was intended to provide residency, work-permits and tax-rebates to roughly five million illegals.

In his address to a joint meeting of Congress this week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “My speech is not intended to show any disrespect to President Obama or the esteemed office that he holds.” Forgive me for believing the latter and not the former. If the circumstances of how Netanyahu came to be in the well of the House two weeks before he stands for election were any more shady, they would constitute an eclipse.Tuesday’s spectacle got me thinking about all the instances of folks throwing shade at the current occupant of the Oval Office.
