Donald Trump should put his money where his mouth is. The real-estate mogul says he’s worth “in excess” of $10 billion. I think he’s lying, as does pretty much every expert and financial journalist who has looked into the question. Forbes has put his net worth at $4.5 billion. Bloomberg says it’s below $3 billion. Billionaire Mark Cuban has cast doubt on whether Trump is even a billionaire at all. I’ve read the analyses, but common sense always told me he was full of it. Actual multi-billionaires tend not to waste their time recording videos hawking steaks in the Sharper

Next to the propagation of the big lie, one of the most elementary and common devices in manufacturing propaganda is the notion that the truth is something you are not being told. From conspiracy theorists to those selling patent medicine on the Internet, everyone who whispers the words “secret” and “mystery” is using this device. But what happens when you already know you’re not being told the truth? The psychological impact is that much greater. Your normal inclination to be taken in by conspiracy theorists is all the more heightened when you know you are not being told the truth.

President Obama is continuing to tweak presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, saying in a new interview that no successful businessman in America actually thinks Mr. Trump is the most successful businessman in the country. “There’s no successful businessman in America who actually thinks the most successful businessman in the country is Donald Trump. I know those guys, and so do you, and I guarantee you, that’s not their view,” Mr. Obama said in an interview with Bloomberg Businessweek published this week. Mr. Obama had said he tells interns and young people that as tough as things seem right now, they shouldn’t

Last Updated Jun 23, 2016 11:05 AM EDT BALTIMORE -- A Baltimore judge found Officer Caesar Goodson, who drove the police van where Freddie Gray´s neck was broken, not guilty of "depraved-heart" murder on Thursday. Circuit Judge Barry Williams also acquitted Goodson of manslaughter, assault, reckless endangerment and misconduct in office in the bench trial. Twenty-five-year-old Gray died a week after suffering a spinal injury in Goodson´s wagon last year, where officers left him handcuffed and shackled but unrestrained by a seat belt. His death set off protests and violence, and prompted State´s Attorney Marilyn Mosby to bring charges against

British Prime Minister David Cameron has said he will resign as prime minister after Britain voted narrowly to leave the European Union. Mr Cameron tried to reassure businesses around the world that Britain´s economy was fundamentally sound but world markets were thrown into turmoil on Friday after the final vote was announced. Donald Trump arrived in Scotland on Friday morning and said the British people had ´taken back their country´ and added: ´It´s a fantastic thing´. Later, when asked his opinion on Cameron quitting, Trump said: ´Well, that´s too bad.´ But Britain´s former Prime Minister Tony Blair said Brexit would

Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, received an endorsement Wednesday from a heavyweight foreign policy adviser to Republican presidents. Brent Scowcroft, who served as National Security Adviser to Presidents George H. W. Bush and Gerald Ford, and who worked in the White House of Presidents Richard Nixon and George W. Bush, said Clinton "brings truly unique experience and perspective to the White House." His endorsement was released hours after the Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump launched a broad attack on Clinton´s experience, honesty and foreign policy experience in a 40-minute speech. Scowcroft directly rebutted Trump´s claim that Clinton does not have
