'60 Minutes' Interview of Mexican President
Reveals a Lot About Our 'Friends' to the South

Original Article

You might assume that any "60 Minutes" interview would amount to a puffy softball-lobbing affair with some known left-wing politician or celebrity. Unless, of course, it is some random and rare conservative they can play a game of "gotcha" with. But on Sunday, CBS News' Sharyn Alfonsi interviewed Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. What Obrador had to say about fentanyl coming across the southern border from Mexico and the border crisis itself was a perfect study of the idea that just because someone is your neighbor doesn't necessarily mean they're your friend. It is also an example of just how weak America appears on the world stage.

Don't blame him a bit. He needs to be a tough guy while he can. If Trump wins in November, he's going to have to go back to being our best friend again (or else).

I also saw the interview. AMLO is a typical Latino president: Arrogant, full of himself, pumped up on his own sense of self importance and, as usual, critical of the "great Satan" to the North. I am convinced he is personally corrupt and doesn't give a "Darn" about how he comes off to the American public. He could not be the President of Mexico if he wasn't in the pockets of the cartels. So on that happy note......me despido.

El Presidente Obrador said a big FU to the American people in so many ways without directly saying it. How far we have declined in the worlds eyes since January 20, 2021. Obrador said what he said because he could; and he meant every word. Lets see if he sings a different tune if/when Donald Trump wins the election in November.

I remember one of the Mexican Presidents saying they want the border to be moved north up to Colorado. That told me what I needed to know. They aren't our friends. Recently saw an interview with one of the cartel bosses, and they stated how much drugs drives the Mexican economy. Many people in Mexico are benefitting from the drug trade. Shows how screwed up things are.

Those of us old enough to have been taught real history remember the "Zimmerman Telegram" from WWI. Mexico being offered collusion and troops to invade the US. For helping Germany, Mexico was to receive the return of Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. Mexico has a history of anti-US sentiment and still does. The telegram got decoded by the Brits and when it hit the front pages it created such an outrage and was the impetus for the US to fully join the war.

Mexico has NEVER been a "friend" to the US. Even after a Revolution and a war and a treaty handled business, they absolutely refuse to acknowledge the loss of Texas and the drawing of the border. LULAC and MeCHA actively work to stir the pot that they were jipped and stolen. We GAVE THEM MONEY for pete's sake and they still refuse to acknowledge history. They like to keep their populace dumb and resentful.

Following the lead of the Communists in the Soviet Union, the American Left for three-quarters of a century has been incessantly and mindlessly accusing Conservatives, and anyone opposed to their statist agenda, of being Nazis. Which, together with the accusation of racism, has become the ultimate invective. As history is always written by the victors, the Soviet Union, an ally of the Nazi Germany from 1939-41, sought to obfuscate its role in initiating the Second World War. They, with the cooperation of United States and Great Britain, succeeded in recasting National Socialism, or Nazism, as being on the right-wing of the political spectrum.

FOX News reports: Jen Psaki erupts over comparisons between her and Ronna McDaniel: ‘Truth versus lies’. During Monday night’s installment of “Inside with Jen Psaki,” a segment on McDaniel began with Psaki decrying those who likened her to the former Republican Party leader. Engineers have blamed the deadly collapse of Baltimore's Francis Scott Key bridge on a design flaw that is present in tens of thousands of US bridges. Several experts told DailyMail.com that the Maryland bridge was missing critical protection systems that would have stopped the the nearly 105,000 ton container ship from smashing into the bridge's support. The Francis Scott Key Bridge was built in 1977 and anti-collision devices like fenders or protection cells were not introduced until the 1980s.

At least eight states are planning to ban the sale of new gas-powered cars in the next decade - and others are considering joining them. Only zero-emission vehicles can be sold in participating states beginning from the 2035 model year, according to the Advanced Clean Cars II legislation. The rule, which was first adopted by California, means that automakers and dealerships would be banned from selling new gas cars in these states from that point onwards. Americans will not be forced to take their gas-powered cars off the road, however, and will still be able to buy used and secondhand gas vehicles. These states have gone further

Then again, everybody does better – wherever they are – than they would in the toilets of downtown Chicago or Baltimore.
