Simi Valley, California -- "I know in my heart that man is good, that what is right will always eventually triumph and there is purpose and worth to each and every life." Those words from the late President Ronald Reagan appear above where he and his beloved Nancy's earthly remains rest here at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum. Visiting before the National Review Institute's annual Buckley Prize dinner, I unexpectedly found these words a little jarring. What leading politician believes such things anymore? At the groundbreaking of the library, Reagan said: "The journey has not just been my own.

Our country weeps for a man such as Ronald Reagan, as we all do. But, alas the liberals would tear him to shreds today with ridicule and scorn.

Excellent words and wonderful ideas. And this is why the extreme leftists work so very, very hard to destroy the family. Disney is working hard for this now, where they were once a good source of fun and normalcy.

Former President Jimmy Carter turned 98 on Saturday and celebrated in Plains, Georgia — where he was born in 1924, while Calvin Coolidge was in office. A picture posted by the Carter Center showed Carter smiling and observing the parade from a wheelchair. Florida cops arrested a group of looters in a devastated section of Fort Myers Thursday, according to a local reporter. Reporter Gage Goulding of NBC 2 tweeted out a video of five young suspects seated in handcuffs in the stricken city’s beach area. “Sheriff’s deputies told me Thursday afternoon these people were arrested for looting on Fort Myers Beach,” Goulding tweeted. Local officials warned of the potential for looting after Hurricane Ian tore through the area and left countless buildings battered and exposed. Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno issued a stiff warning to would-be thieves this week as the Category 4 storm made landfall in his jurisdiction.

Emilee Carpenter is a gifted photographer whose lavish images celebrate all kinds of people — Christian, Jewish, black, white, straight, gay and everything in between. She aims her lens at clients without fear or prejudice — with one notable exception. She refuses to take pictures of same-sex weddings. That’s non-negotiable. And it could cost her — big time. “I serve everyone, including those who identify as LGBT. But I now face threats of up to $100,000 in fines, a revoked business license and even jail time simply because of my Christian beliefs about marriage,’’ Carpenter, who lives and works near upstate Elmira, said this week.

On Friday Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) warned would-be looters that they would be risking their lives by trying to enter the homes of Ian victims, saying, “We’re a Second Amendment state.” FOX News quoted DeSantis saying, “I can tell you in the state of Florida, you never know what may be lurking behind somebody’s home. And I would not want to chance that if I were you — given that we’re a Second Amendment state.” During a press conference in Fort Myers, DeSantis said, “We are a law and order state, and this is a law and order community.

Like Pavlov’s dogs, when liberals saw a hurricane heading towards Florida, their immediate reaction was, slobber slobber drool drool. “Man made climate change caused this hurricane!” A few weeks ago, I wrote about the Weather’s Channel’s report that August had no hurricanes at all. Unusual, but not unknown. That fact produced no rush to deny MMCC (“man-made climate change”). The lack of hurricanes doesn’t disprove MMCC, one big hurricane, though, does prove it. No scientific evidence (other than the hurricane) is offered, just sheer demagoguery by psychopaths. “When in trouble, when in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout.” And people will listen to you,

Wake up and smell the coffee. Can’t you see what’s happening in our country? We elected you to do precisely the opposite of what you are doing. Your priorities should be God, country, community, family, and self. In that exact order. I believe that’s what Tom and George and Ben and the guys that got together in 1776 decided that America was supposed to be. A country made-up of strong individuals, coming from different phases of life, working together to construct legislation that benefits everyone. That is not the situation in our Congress, and you know it. As a citizen, taxpayer, and voter in this country, I am a US government stockholder,

We’ve reported about how Joe Biden seems to be frequently lost, to not know where he’s going after he makes remarks; that frequently his wife has had to lead him off the stage. On Thursday, we saw him delivering remarks about Hurricane Ian from the FEMA headquarters. But at the end of the remarks (his wife wasn’t there), he suddenly turned off to his right and wandered off as the FEMA Director called after him and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas looked worried and surprised. The handlers had to chase after him and pull him out of the staff area. Now, not only is he getting lost,

Goldman, a prominent advocate for vaccines in Europe, was driven to go public with his beliefs by his desire for open and honest discussion about the COVID-19 vaccines. He told The Atlantic that the Pfizer booster shot he received on September 22, 2021, appears to have accelerated the progression of his angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL). After being diagnosed with AITL, Goldman, 67, believed it was the right thing to do to get the COVID booster

A large study conducted by the National Institutes of Health found that women of childbearing age who got the Covid vaccine are at heightened risk of 14 different conditions including having a miscarriage, fertility issues, fetal cardiac arrest, and menstrual abnormality. “Pregnancy and menstrual abnormalities are significantly more frequent following COVID-19 vaccinations than that of Influenza vaccinations. A worldwide moratorium on the use of COVID-19 vaccines in pregnancy is advised until randomized prospective trials document safety in pregnancy and long-term follow-up in offspring,”

Rep. Mark Pocan, a Wisconsin Democrat, is pushing legislation that would establish a national museum of American LGBTQ+ History and Culture in the nation’s capital. The lawmaker has filed bills that would establish a commission to study the potential creation of the museum and house it within the Smithsonian Institution. The eight-member commission would have 18 months to study the viability of creating and constructing the museum in Washington. Mr. Pocan, who is gay, said the LGBT community must be able to tell its stories. “As our community faces unprecedented attacks and attempts to erase our history, we must preserve and protect our stories for future generations,”

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) signed a law Friday that will decriminalize jaywalking across California, ending the familiar practice of police handing out tickets to pedestrians on the argument that the law is enforced more often against minorities than other people. The new law, AB 2147, known as the “Freedom to Walk Act,” could bring an end to a cultural difference that has marked otherwise libertine Californians as being uniquely deferential to laws governing pedestrian traffic. The difference between Californians, who ostensibly tend to obey “don’t walk” signals, and urban dwellers elsewhere in the country, who are notoriously defiant when it comes to crossing against traffic signals, was lampooned

Given the current political realities in the United States and Canada, this report should surprise no sane person paying a modicum of attention to the attack on personal freedom in both countries. Still, it’s chilling as hell that Communist China continues to compromise territorial integrity around the world. As reported by The New York Post, China has opened dozens of “overseas police service stations” around the world to monitor its citizens living abroad, including one location in New York City and three in Toronto. Never-learning Europe is home to most of the police stations, including locations in London, Amsterdam, Prague, Budapest, Paris, Madrid, and Frankfurt.

WASHINGTON — Republicans are abandoning their long crusade to repeal the Affordable Care Act, making the 2022 election the first in more than a decade that won’t be fought over whether to protect or undo President Barack Obama’s signature achievement. The diminished appetite for repeal means the law — which has extended health care coverage to millions of people and survived numerous near-death experiences in Congress and the courts — now appears safer than ever. With slightly more than a month before the next election, Republicans in Congress and on the campaign trail aren’t making an issue of Obamacare.

Wall said the Department of Justice (DOJ) would be consulted about whether 'to initiate an action for the recovery of records unlawfully removed' by White House officials. Further information about what action could be taken remains unclear, but the DoJ's warning raises the specter of another potential raid

German Federal Economy Minister Robert Habeck expressed concern over the looming energy crisis this winter, telling German media that the situation was extremely tense and there is a possibility that Germany may run out of gas. Habeck spoke on Friday, appealing to Germans to reduce their consumption of natural gas ahead of this winter a day after the German government launched a new price break programme to help Germans with the rising costs of energy. The new price break policy will cover 80 per cent of regular consumption in a bid to try and get Germans to use less gas and make the scenario of shortages less likely.

There’s always some mystery in the news that provides a blank page for fantasy thinking. This week’s mystery has initiated a storm of speculation: What happened to cause leaks in Russia’s Nord Stream 1 and 2, designed to send gas to Germany? The speculation runs from rational to delusional. A good example of more rational speculation is by Jed Babbin at the Spectator: He thinks Russia is the most likely suspect: Germany, Sweden, the United States, and other NATO nations would not have attacked the pipelines. There has been some speculation among U.S. conservatives that we were responsible for the pipeline attacks.

But a member of Truss' Cabinet said the government and palace were in agreement about the decision.
