it can no longer protect its own workers:

Seattle has become so dangerous that the city can no longer protect its own employees, with security guards now escorting them after they finish work. King County's new 'walking bus' will debut on November 15, and see council workers based in Downtown Seattle and nearby Pioneer Square escorted to a nearby train station and ferry terminal each evening before being left to continue their commute home. An announcement on King County's official website says: 'King County is launching a 'Walking Bus' pilot program where county employees can join their colleagues and a Facilities Management Division (FMD) Security Escort each evening walking to the King Street Station and the Coleman Dock

Well, clearly the solution is to cut police funding more.
Obviously this is caused by too many police officers on patrol.

We love to cruise Alaska. 2 years ago we got to Seattle a few days early to enjoy the seafood, a nice hotel down the street from the Aquarium, and head north - heading out of the Cruise Terminal got to waft some of "Hemp Festival" at the local park....
Going forward we'll look only to cruise out of Vancouver - assuming Canadian Stassi opens the country back up. Scratched off any trips to 'Frisco about turn of the Century when we saw room taxes added $200 to our hotel bill, let alone all the newest 'brown map' issues and pilfering up to $950....

Reminds me of the wife's job at the phone company in st.louis. Armed guards to and from her car in the parking lot. Had a shotgun in every car, pulled it out twice. Those were the days. Never thought seattle would stoop this low.

Wouldn’t it be easier to just do something about the crime? No. That makes too much sense and is above the intelligence level of Seattle’s leaders and most of its citizens.

Sorry to say - I'm devoid of sympathy for Seattle. I guess the "Summer of Love" has worn out its welcome and has turned out to be a whole lot less loving than the mayor claimed. If Seattle wants peace and safety they really, really MUST demand it and then VOTE for it. Nothing will change if they continue to lie down and take it. Complaining goes only so far without being accompanied by action.

They provide security for government workers but not for private enterprises or people. When all private enterprise and people have left who will pay for the government or it's workers?

Hopefully, the good, sane people of Seattle will leave and the rest can kill themselves off,

I moved out of Seattle in 1994, and I´ve watched it decline ever since from afar. It´s the inevitable result of lefty politics run amok - and such a beautiful city. Even in, say, 1990, there were lots and lots of very rude lefties, and I simply got tired of them.
Even 27 years ago the place was woke and idiotic. Conservatives were constant targets of verbal abuse. The word "Republican" was an epithet. As an alternative, the city now pays a pimp $150,000 per to help it deal with shady "folks" and throngs of untreated mentally ill people -- and how does that look to the working poor in Seattle who struggle to get by? Just terrible.

I suggest they get a group of people together to patrol the city, maybe call them police?

Use to go there on business at least once a month. Always walked the streets late at night with no fear! Won’t even fly into SeaTac anymore! Lovely area! Puget Sound, pine tree forests! Taking a ferry over the Sound and driving through timber is unrivaled!
