A former forestry student-turned-shaman and yoga teacher has been charged with starting a huge California wildfire that has destroyed 41 homes - and was being investigated in connection with other fires - after claiming the blaze was triggered accidentally while she tried to boil bear urine so she could drink it. Alexandra Souverneva, of Palo Alto, was charged Friday with felony arson to wildland with an enhancement because of a declared state of emergency in California, Shasta County District Attorney Stephanie Bridgett said. The 8,500 acre blaze the 30 year-old is accused of starting has wrecked 41 homes, and 90 other structures.

definite nut case. everyone knows you don't boil your urine before drinking it. Boiling it destroys the beneficial components. best to drink it fresh at body temp

I am unclear on how she got the bear urine in the first place....
Is she the Bear Whisperer? Just asked the bear to pee in her cooking pot?
I am not surprised AT ALL that she is from Palo Alto. The home of ultra rich ultra lefties.

Former Forestry student that's because she burned down the forest now there is none. I would like to hear an interview with the bear she retrieved the urine from that would be interesting. There must be some good weed to smoke in that area that would make Cheech and Chong jealous.

I'm glad they finally caught one of these arsonists. I say "one of" because I believe that the vast majority of the forest fires in the last 5 years have been purposely set by people who have an agenda (eco-nuts or jihadists) and are essentially waging war on "normals" and the USA in general. There is no way that the sheer number and vast geographic distribution of near-simultaneous forest fires can be due to natural causes.
Frankly this should be a capital crime.

The lights are on, but nobody's home, based on the photos. Lots of cute ways of saying it, "elevator doesn't go to the top floor", "three bricks shy of a load".
Another example of why a certain number of people need to be in a mental ward with locks on the outside of the doors.

I went to forestry school for a while. I don't remember too many women in the program. Most of the students were already very outdoorsy people who liked to hunt, fish, hike, and generally loved camping out far from anyone. They weren't loners, and were interested in protecting forests. I left the program simply because at the time, finding a job in that field was very difficult. So I went and studied something else.
