America’s underlying pandemic is getting worse.
New data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) out Wednesday shows the number of states with high obesity rates nearly doubled in the course of two years, with at least 35 percent of residents in 16 states consisting of adults with obesity in 2020. The number of states is up from a dozen in 2019, (snip).
added last year include Delaware, Iowa, Ohio, and Texas, each now home to a population where more than a third of people are obese. States that had already reached that benchmark by 2019 include Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina,

High-fructose corn syrup is very profitable, using a crop heavily subsidized by tax dollars. Huge corporations are making wild profits, and as all Good Americans know, profits are good. Big Medicine makes a killing, too, which again is good.

FTA: According to a study out in August from researchers at the University of Southern California and the University of Michigan, nearly half of the nation’s children aged 5 through 11 now qualify as either overweight or obese.
I wonder if the parents of these overweight children are the same people who, for the sake of the children's health, are demanding masks be worn in school and want vaccines for children.

All part of the plan - locking people down and keeping them from enjoying life. And the news media making them so scared to go out that they sit in front of the boob tube and eat potato chips.
Why? They're making Americans more dependent on the government. And a dependent American loves a government that gives them stuff.
If you are gaining a few pounds please please please start an exercise program. Talk to your doctor first.
Want to lose weight? Easy you have to know 2 things. How many calories you take in a day and how many you burn. Make sure you burn more than take in. Obesity leads to so many problem - diabetes, heart disease and depression.

Create a problem and send in the Government to fix it. Once the OSHA rule is in place for mandatory vaccine to "protect " the workforce is established, next will be the smokers, then the obese, and it will not end until your life is totally at the mercy of the Government.

"Major General Garrett Harencak, adds: “We have a problem with obesity in kids.”
The Mission: Readiness report previously cited reports that 27% of young Americans are too overweight for military service, and of the total number of those who attempt to join the Armed Forces, approximately 15,000 are rejected every year because they are overweight.
These statistics are likely to climb."

The article finds that Washington DC is one of the lowest places for being overweight. Really?

So, why don’t we start treating the obese the same way we treat smokers?

Go tell it to ADM. Most everything you buy is hyper-processed garbage loaded with HFCS.

Too many people out there sticking their noses in other people's business. How about this for a novel idea? Leave people alone to live their lives the way they want. Stop inventing crisis after crisis to keep people stirred up. Dont like fat people? Avoid them. The only way they are hurting you is by offending your delicate little eyes.

#6- Yes. Before the Wuhan lockdown DC residents were VERY slender. But last spring, when I was in Dupont Circle (DC), I was shocked at how fat everyone looked. We all have Faux-chi to thank for the rise in obesity.

Worried about your weight??? I found a book written by a cardiologist named William Davis called 'Wheat Belly'...read it and weep for our waistlines...wheat is really bad for you, pushed by huge agri business and parma business and chemical business (read Monsanto) for pesticides...it is genetically engineered since the 30's (with no oversight by the FDA) in an effort to increase production to 'feed more people', sort of like the mantra 'it's for the chillun' but instead is posioning us. The government even moved wheat products to the base of the food pyramid to get people to consume more (it was on the top)
There is a byproduct of wheat that is like dope, crosses the blood brain barrier and makes you an addict to eat more wheat..and it is in everything around us...
I'm not celiac but I did go wheat free, I did 4 weeks ago and I've lost 12 pounds, feel better, sleep better and eat less...a win win situation...

Some of this is surely from lockdowns. Gym's and other exercise avenues closed, people stuck at home eating more cause their bored, etc.

78 percent of Covid deaths are among the overweight and obese. Plus, the USA is the 14th most obese county on the planet. Those ahead of us? Mostly island nations in the SW Pacific.

Yep, looks like a lot of states in regions where fried chicken is considered a health food. But there's hope, the babe in the purple tank top is smoking to lose weight.

I was telling a family member that I've been noticing a certain phenomena of late - GROSSLY overweight people - mostly women - and extremely teeny tiny dogs. No correlation between the two, though, I believe, there are less babies being born.

# 1 - I remember when corn syrup started showing up in everything we eat or drink. It was in the '70's. Up til then, we had a few plump people. Rarely saw the fat like we do today. FYI, did you know this stuff is even in toothpaste? It's in cans of green beans and every thing else. There is no reason for it to be there. I always wondered why it was put there. Still don't know why but it should be removed.

I guess this is why my doc, at my last physical was so pleased that I had lost about 3 lbs during the Dem-panic rather than gained weight.

My late Mother - thin as a rail all of her life and my Dad the same, as well as we kids - used Karo in her delectable fudge (a special treat that wasn’t around all the time) and, because it was cheaper than real maple syrup, Karo was flavored with maple extract to make our pancake/waffle syrup. None of us gained weight. We were all active and our diet was good fresh nutritious foods with little dessert and no snacks other than an occasional graham cracker or homemade cookie - and few of those. Soft drinks were a very seldom treat as well.
Weight comes on when you eat more than you burn up. Especially empty calories (including alcohol).

Not so, #9. They are hurting all of us with their medical expenses and frankly, I’m tired of paying for them.
