Medical Mandates: A Hideous Strength

One recalls C.S. Lewis’ dystopian novel That Hideous Strength, a longtime favorite of mine, where he speaks of “false writings” and “men maddened with false promises and soured with true miseries.” Lewis held to an apocalyptic vision of moral and intellectual surrender to the idols of mere self-sufficiency and hedonistic indulgence, of a time characterized by the death of meaning and the weakening of belief in a just and merciful God. “The shadow of one dark wing is over all Tellus,” the human spirit is being progressively “enclosed,” as he describes it. There is not much of the Rapture here, little indication of the new Jerusalem prophesied in Revelation.

What an enlightening and uplifting piece! I many months ago related This Book to This Plandemic. One of my favorite books by my favorite author. It's as though, Lewis knows exactly what I'm up against! :-)

I read the piece. I do not agree with forced vaccinations anymore than forced amputations (1914 Supreme Court Cardoza) I do wonder though if the writer would have saying these things in 1918, or in the middle of the Black Plague? Runningdoc!

I piece resonates with my current thought about the situation. I think that if the likelihood of death were on the order of 1/3 rather than 2/1000 (comparing the black plaque to covid-19) that people would freely submit to experimental inoculations and no government mandate would be required. Live Free or Die.

I am not anti-vax as a rule but I am anti-coercion and anti-tyranny. I am also heartily ashamed of our "medical" and "scientific" community that have become the gleeful instrument by which this tyranny and authoritarianism is acclimating the public herd to our abattoirs.

Absent positive and thoughtful actions there will be no end to these illegal and arbitrary intrusions on our lifestyles and our health. There are going to be other pandemics. State legislatures are being lazy, careless and stupid OR are being devious to retain their currently existing tyranical powers. Far too few of the 50 United States have revised their statutes and/or respective Constitution to prevent the millions of violations of our rights that have been taken away by the federal government (inluding federal agencies) individual states (and their agencies), counties, municipalities, towns, villages, townships, other pipsqueak local governments, business entities, religious entities, educational institutions, landlords, etc. Imagine! Elected city governments enacting ordinaces to mandate wearing of masks and social distancing. 99.99% of those elected officers have NO CLUE what they are doing imposing such hasty, ill-considered (knee-jerk) mandates. The overreaching and the arbitrariness is astonishing. The arbitary picking of winners and being based on politics and having nothing whatsoever to do with any considered medical decisions. Many (most?) State Goverors went wild with arbitrary political power! A few examples: Telling physicians some medicines (pvoven safe for years or decades) they could not prescribe to their patients; classifying businesses are being "essential" or "non-essential": Essential liquor stores but non-essential tobacco stores; Essential (politically powerful) Big Box stores but non-essential smaller stores selling essentially the same products. Essential furniture manufacturing plants but non-essential arts and craft stores. There are tens of thousands of examples. Only a handful of courts of law have stood up to these illegalities, including the U.S. Supreme Court, which acted like some snivelling coward hiding in a dark closet. The various states should carefully study - and based on such studies - pass detailed statutes that clearly limit the powers of the state's Governor, its legislature, and all local governments. by clearly specifying (in detail) the measures that SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED, and, if allowed, specifying unambigous standards of the mandatory underlying conditions that SHALL BE adhered to prerequisite to imposing the respective limitations on our lives and our bodies.

Where is the great Judeo-Christian experiment to establish a system of individual liberty and rule of law, grounded in natural and divine justice advancing these days? Not in Europe. Not in Australia, New Zealand, Canada or Great Britain. Certainly not in the USA, where some political or civic failure is the story du jour. Those who shout loudest about "human rights" are the first to wrest natural rights from all who disagree with their views - all in the name of tolerance, equity and kumbaya.

Australian Daniel Ricciardo won the Italian Grand Prix in a stunning McLaren one-two with Lando Norris at Monza on Sunday while Formula One title rivals Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton took each other out of the race. The victory was McLaren's first since 2012 and Ricciardo's first since he was at Red Bull in 2018. "About time," smiled the happy Australian. "To lead literally from start to finish, I don't think any of us expected that. "To not only win but to get a one-two, it's insane. For McLaren to be on the podium is huge." Ricciardo, now an eight times grand prix winner,

Retaliation. Witness tampering. Felony criminal conduct. These charges are being aimed at the man Travis County, Texas, voters elected to prosecute criminals in November 2020. And the charges stem from one of José Garza’s highest-profile and most controversial cases. On the night of July 25, 2020, a group of protesters illegally took over an intersection in downtown Austin. They approached a car as it was trying to make its way past the crowd through the intersection. One of the protesters, Garrett Foster, was carrying a loaded AK-47 rifle. As Foster approached the car in the darkness that night, apparently pointing the rifle at the driver, the driver, Army Sgt.

Old Joe Biden’s handlers are in the process of bringing 94,000 Afghan refugees into the UnitedStates, and really, only a racist, bigoted “Islamophobe” could possibly object to such a grand humanitarian gesture, right? Yet a migrant couple in Pennsylvania illustrated Thursday that there is ample reason to temper our enthusiasm over Old Joe’s welcome mat: Shahidul Gaffar, a naturalized citizen, and his wife, Nabila Khan, a legal permanent resident, both from Bangladesh, were sentenced to federal prison for sending nearly $5,600 to Khan’s brothers, who happen to be Islamic State (ISIS) jihadis. As Gaffar was sentenced, he declared: “God bless America, God bless the United States.”

In Afghanistan the world is again seeing that radical Islam is an ideology premised on murdering non-believers and using that example to intimidate everyone else. Historically, the same has been true of leftism, when its adherents have achieved totalitarian control in a country. Leftists don’t have totalitarian control in America yet, so over the last few years they have mostly given us a heads-up about their desires by rolling out mock guillotines during their protests and riots, posing for photographs with mock-ups of President Trump’s guillotined head, talking about burning down the White House, and on social media wishing death upon Trump, his supporters, and Americans who express

In a move reminiscent of the moral panics against Elvis Presley, Little Richard, and rock ‘n roll in the 1950s, the Chinese Communist Party is vowing to get tough on effeminate men because “revolutionary culture” is in danger. The Chicoms are a little vague on who or what constitutes “sissy men,” but the real goal of the directive is to eliminate pop culture influences from South Korea and Japan and reinforce traditional Chinese Communist Party views on morality. The campaign is part of a larger program initiated by President Xi that he refers to as “national rejuvenation.” Associated Press: Broadcasters must “resolutely put an end to sissy men

Biden's speech was poorly written and even more poorly delivered, communications experts told Fox News.

I held off on writing about the “F*** Joe Biden” chants that began at college football games a couple of weeks ago. I had three reasons. First, I’m not a fan of obscenities because I think they cheapen speech. Second, these chants were initially small groups at Southern colleges, which really didn’t seem like a “thing.” Third, I wasn’t going to get excited until I learned whether the chants had legs. Well, it turns out they do have legs and they’re becoming large chants at multiple games (including New York baseball games). And most importantly, Joe Biden knows about them and isn’t happy.
