Lebron James Is No Michael Jordan, And That’s Why ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’ Is A Failure

On paper, making a new version of the beloved 1996 “Space Jam” looks like an easy layup. The movie should be a cash cow, targeting nostalgia-loving millennials who are now parents wanting to introduce Looney Tunes to their own kids. We even have a cocky NBA superstar to boot. Yet Hollywood executives managed to misread what exactly made the original “Space Jam” so great, and spike their version with shameless money-grabs along the way. Instead of Michael Jordan, “Space Jam: A New Legacy” stars LeBron James. And instead of playing an intergalactic basketball game to secure freedom for the Looney Tunes,

Comments:

I love the old Looney Tunes, but I probably wouldn't have been running to the theater to see this movie regardless. The fact that LeBron is the star only made it a certainty. I wonder if it will be a hit in China...

My son was four years old in 1996. He loved the old Space Jam, idolized Michael Jordan, and watched the video endlessly and bought products related to the movie. Today we wouldn't dream of letting our four year old grandson have anything to do with this detestable jerk's vanity project. And we're not alone. Warner Bros really does have their hands on the pulse of the public.

I respected Michael Jordan for his ability, he is the greatest, and his demeanor. He seemed to love his country and had respect for it. This other clown hates America and will never appear on any device that I won. I hope that one day he will wake up and change his ways, however, I doubt it.

In the ESPN documentary on Jordan and the Bulls, Jordan got a lot of flack for not being woke. He kept his politics out of it. That's the reason this is not a slam dunk.

I was lucky enough to be able to go to Chicago Stadium a number of times to watch the Bulls, and Jordan, play. He was so awesome it took my Breath away! But what I also admired about him was he was a gentleman, he was a great Role Model and he loved his Team and his Country. I think we would be hard pressed to find any NBA, NFL or MLB player who could measure up to Michael Jordan now!

What makes James such a pouty baby is that he knows there is no way he will ever measure up to Jordan as an athlete or as a human being.

Michael Jordan was a great basketball player and teammate. He didn't get involved in politics. He just played basketball, treated everyone fairly, and was much loved and respected for it. So, of course, when they made the original "Space Jam" movie, it was a big hit for young and old fans alike. LeBron James is a terrible human being. He is the most hated man in sports these days for his racist attitudes and poor sportsmanship. Why would anyone think anyone would want to see him in a movie?!?!?!? The lie-berals that run Holly-weird these days have to be insane!!!

My son wants me to see this movie with him, so I probably will. If they bring back that gag where Bugs and Daffy are in MJ's house looking for the lucky shoes and the two see a bunch of Looney Tunes mdse. I think Daffy says something like Are you getting any of those royalty checks? Bugs says, nah. And Daffy says I think we're getting screwed. That scene alone could save this picture.

Buccaneers say they’re using red wristbands for vaccinated players, yellow for unvaccinated 19 replies

So much for HIPAA. (That’s sarcasm, by the way.) The Buccaneers have informed PFT that the Super Bowl LV champions will be using two different wristbands at practice to distinguish vaccinated players from unvaccinated players. According to the team, vaccinate players will wear red wristbands and unvaccinated players will wear yellow wristbands. As the Bucs begin practicing today, photos inevitably will emerge from the session — and many will be looking for the yellow wristbands. (It’s hard to spot them, if they’re even there, in practice videos posted by the team on social media.)

Communist China is refusing to comply with further investigation into the Wuhan lab, located in the city the pandemic originated. While the Chinese Communist Party throws a fit about the “shocking” and “offensive” proposal by the World Health Organization to audit Chinese labs claiming it projects “arrogance towards science,” some U.S. legislators haven’t given up on finding where COVID-19 came from and who needs to be held responsible for unleashing the virus on the world. After a conservative backlash, Republican senators negotiating an infrastructure bill have objected to an increase in funding and authority for the IRS. In lieu of additional revenue obtained from auditing taxpayers, how do lawmakers now propose to fund increased federal spending allegedly on roads and bridges? Through a budget gimmick. In short, Congress now wants to repeal a rule that 1) hasn’t gone into effect and 2) likely won’t ever go into effect, so it can take the phony “savings” associated with repealing something that won’t happen anyway and use it to “pay for” real increases in spending.

We love this country, but are growingly concerned with its top-down control. We love freedom, but that same freedom is abused by immoral and evil people, with an end result of far less freedom than before. The confluence of philosophy and reality weaves a complex – sometimes hopeful, sometimes bleak – future. Lately, I have found myself holding mutually exclusive thoughts regarding the current status and prospective future of America. The problem for many conservatives, as I see it, is that we are resolute in our defense of many American principles but simultaneously recognize a growing problem

The economist Thomas Sowell distinguished himself in the early 1970s as a critic of the traditional civil rights leadership, but in earlier decades he had been optimistic about the direction of the civil rights movement. Sowell was born into an extremely poor family in rural Gastonia, North Carolina, during the Great Depression and raised in a New York City ghetto in the 1940s. Like many other blacks of that time and in those places, his family was uneducated. The men mostly worked as laborers or in the service sector, and the women typically were domestics. Racist laws had reduced opportunities for black Americans and thus limited their upward mobility. CORRECTION*

Perhaps it’s because I grew up surrounded by extraordinarily tough people, but I found myself singularly unmoved by the spectacle in the House on Tuesday, which reminded me of a bad mash-up of Dr. Phil, Oprah, and BLM-produced soap opera, rather than a legitimate inquiry into an event that Democrats have seized upon to consolidate their power by destroying their opposition. As sobbing congressmen and Capitol Police officers took turns talking about their psychic injuries, I was alternately embarrassed for them if they were really that weak, and frightened of them if they were that sociopathic as a pathway to power.
