CDC’s Mask Guidance Will Backfire

Original Article

Begin with one simple fact: The Delta variant of COVID-19 is more contagious than the original virus, but it is not more dangerous or likely to kill you. If you are vaccinated and are exposed to it, you may get infected. This infection is likely to be mild; occasionally vaccinated people get sick. These symptoms are usually mild, manageable, and pass within a day or two. The first case of the Delta variant — previously referred to as “the Indian variant” — in the U.S. was diagnosed at the end of March. Our active COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths have declined since that date, although the daily number

This NR column blames the "unvaccinated". How about blaming the people who created or helped to create this virus and its epidemic? The culprits include Fauci. How about blaming the failure of the government to use a vaccine that is actually proven to be safe AND effective instead of some concoction which the government wants to think is safe and effective. Clearly, the vaccines, if they worked at all, are not long lasting. Where's "the science"?

A bridge too far. Was in a deep sleep, having a dream about getting the kids together to play music. We were setting up the equipment, checking the mikes, turning the amps on. One of my sons was talking to a departed guy I played in a praise band with over 30 years ago. Then I woke up. Within 5 seconds the heaviness returned. Back to the salt mine, flouting mask rules. Good times. /s

The article states: "The Delta variant of COVID-19 is more contagious than the original virus, but it is not more dangerous or likely to kill you. If you are vaccinated and are exposed to it, you may get infected." So according to this, vaccinated people are getting sick. But the article is also blaming the unvaccinated, and the Delta variant (whatever that means) is more contagious . So vaccinated people are getting sick, and of course there is something new and mysterious, a Delta variant. And now the deep-state minions at the CDC have decided that everyone — including the fully vaccinated — should mask up once again to stop the spread. And children under 12 are not allowed to get it because they are in a low risk group, but the older kids are getting it, even though they're in a low risk group too. And even though most students are vaccinated, the CDC is recommending universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to schools, “regardless of vaccination status.” Only Marxists could run a pandemic like this, a constant barrage of twisted logic. I don't believe a word of it. It's all balderdash (BS). The CDC is corrupt and part of the deep state. They will never allow the" pandemic" to end, never.

The purpose of the new mask mandate is to increase support for draconian government mandates...at the moment those would be vaccination mandates, but once they get people used to government mandates they will expand them.

#3, You are right. Close the border, round up the illegals who are carrying Covid around the country or shut up. This is their Achilles heel and I don’t hear many Republicans using the Democrat’s absolutely illogical mandates to challenge them. Who can defend the mandates while allowing illegals democrats know have Covid to be released into the population with no mandatory quarantine while doing no testing at the border. If we are in another “crisis”, what kind of science would approve of their neglect by ignoring these issues. American citizens are mandated to wear masks yet, illegal aliens walk among us free to spread the virus at will. Come on, man! We all know this is not about the science it is all about the politics, specifically the 2022 elections. Democrats are dead wrong on this issue. They are hypocrites and are only interested in shutting down the country so they can mandate mail in voting. Our Republican public servants from dog catcher to the Minority Leaders in the House and Senate who are not fighting this tooth and nail are part of the problem. It is time to push back hard on these ridiculous mandates. Democrats are using anything they can to control us. They want complete control of every elected office and these mandates are just the way to achieve ultimate power. Wake up, get in the battle or forever be under the thumb of these totalitarian democrats. When will our leaders wake up to the fact that democrats are the most existential threat to freedom we have ever faced in our history. This unmitigated assault on our rights should make everyone demand that Republican leadership get their act together and devise a strategy to combat this unconscionable power grab.

A friend is a docent at a very cool place. She got a memo yesterday ordering mask compliance again. It actually stated that if she is in a room alone with the door closed she has the option of complying or not complying. This required a memo? She wouldn't have been able to figure this out on her own? Do these people really think that they can regulate what can or can't be done all alone in a private room with the door closed?

Republican staffers defied Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Thursday evening by playing beer pong (with water) in a Capitol office hallway, smoking cigars, and socializing — without masks, courting arrest by Capitol Police. As Breitbart News reported Thursday, Pelosi ordered Capitol Police to arrest any staff and visitors who refused to comply with new mask mandates, which she imposed earlier in the week, regardless of vaccination status. She ordered the Capitol Police to report members of Congress who refused to comply to the House Sergeant at Arms for disciplinary action. In response, several GOP members of Congress defied Pelosi’s orders by allowing staff to work without masks, or remotely. But

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s latest confused pronouncement about masks is another blow to the embattled agency, whose track record hasn’t been exactly brilliant. For months, the CDC has married a god-awful communications strategy with a determination to cater to the most irrational whims of the paranoid, triple-masking urban gentry: the whims of the archetypical Karen, in other words. The latest stutter-step is an embarrassment for the public-health establishment and for a Team Biden left trying to explain what the CDC meant. But there’s also an opportunity here for Republicans heading into the 2022 election: The GOP should run as the anti-lockdown party — the anti-Karen party.

For the first time in 45 years, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a spending bill funding Medicaid without the Hyde Amendment, a measure that protects taxpayers from being forced to pay for abortion. The spending bill will face a tough hurdle in the Senate, but the bill still sets a terrifying precedent for pro-life taxpayers. The bill, which includes seven of the twelve annual appropriations bills to fund the government for the next fiscal year, which begins on October 1, passed the House 219-208 along party lines. Republicans opposed the bill because Democrats had removed two essential abortion-related provisions: the Hyde Amendment and the Weldon Amendment

He said that civilian federal employees will be required to “attest” that they have been vaccinated. The White House also said they would be encouraging localities to provide $100 to newly vaccinated individuals using leftover COVID-19 relief funds, according to information they released today. At one point, Fox News’ Peter Doocy pinned him down on his previous statements on vaccinations and masks, noting that the president is now saying the opposite. That led to a flailing claim that he didn’t say what he said while insisting the science on masks has changed when it simply hasn’t. But one comment involving the vaccines may be Biden’s most ill-advised yet. Rather, he said, had he endorsed mask wearing (of any kind), mass panic would ensue and lead to a surgical and N95 mask shortage among health care workers, who needed the masks more.
