Aging hippies have a penchant for recalling the 1960s as some amazing, idyllic moment in time. As Jonah Goldberg writes in Liberal Fascism, it’s “bizarre how many people remember the 1960s as a time of ‘unity’ and ‘hope’ when it was, in reality, a time of rampant domestic terrorism, campus tumult, assassinations, and riots.” Goldberg hits the nail squarely on the head when appraising why aging hippies feel that way. Their “liberal nostalgia” for the 1960s is more about a longing “for victory” than an interest in “unity.” Leftists love the 1960s for the same reason that they love the 1930s, a decade also marred by “political unrest, intense labor violence,

My only quibble with this article is the idea that President Trump "left the GOP stage in disgrace." President Trump has NOT left the GOP stage, and the only disgrace is on those who refused to allow a legitimately elected President do his job without being harassed, plotted against and betrayed on a daily basis!!

Well you’d need to have elections that are free, fair, and not rigged. That’s never happening again.

Back in 1980 Reagan said it wasn't enough for him to win - the voters needed to want the Democrats to Lose! Republicans need to emphasize policies that are complete rejection of liberalism.

Define "conservative resurgence"...there will be a reaction to the events of Biden's term. Will it be a conservative reaction? Likely not what you think. Government spending will grow. Federal government will grow. Public demands to "do something" will continue. Remember the heat Reagan took for "fixing" inflation? Who has the guts to jack up interest rates and reduce the money supply after decades of cheap money? Not the guys who threw TRILLIONS at the COVIDS hysteria. We're all socialists now.

That is where history's pendulum is swinging. Left wing excesses amounting to insanity should really seal the deal. Integrity of future elections is the obstacle that is blocking this outcome which should be as natural as flow of water downhill. Let us hope PDT takes it up as a No. 1 task before 22/24.

Maybe.....maybe not. More so called Americans today favor socialism than ever before. In the 70's and 80's, most democrats were still professing a belief in G-d and denouncing communism. Today, a sizeable chunk of the population is atheist, believe in critical race theory, are in favor of infanticide, openly discussing reparations, ( not if reparations are a good thing. But how much to pass out) believe that not parroting the treasoncrat party talking points Du jour makes you a white supremacist, they believe that men menstrate, capitalism must end to save the planet, any dissent is censored and censured. They encourage rioting and violence. And the list goes on. As previously pointed out, without free and fair elections, there will be no conservative resurgence that doesn't come about thru violence. Elections for the past 20 years have be questionable. 2020 killed what "was" a conservative resurgence.

OP, the author qualified that Trump left in "arguable" disgrace and noted that he won more votes than anyone in history, (except Biden...doubtful). There are indeed many who believe in socialism, but the advantage we have is that the young people in this country who rejected the indoctrination of lunatic professors, have more access to information and are definitely paying attention. While my 23 year old didn't listen to Rush, he regularly follows Ben Shapiro and the like in his generation. Many of his friends do as well. They like to say there are more of them than us but they couldn't be more wrong and the young people are starting to engage!

Sadly, in the past, when we have had conservative resurgences, we did not also have a Demon-Rat Party that had absolutely mastered the art of election theft!!!!! Sadly, since the Demon-Rats so masterfully stole the November election, without so much as a whimper from 99.999% of the swamp creature Republi-Can'ts in DC, they will never lose another presidential election or control of either house of Congress. Sure, they will still allow a few impotent Republi-Can'ts to win to keep up the appearance of a 2-party system. But they will easily cheat their way to victory in any important election that would shift the power in the DC swamp!!! Secession or Civil War 2 -- those truly are our only options for saving our republic at this point!!!

Supreme Court shuts down police attempts to

The Supreme Court on Monday shut down a police attempt to enter homes without a warrant, siding against the Biden administration. The court, in a unanimous decision, found that police, using the "community caretaking" exception to the Fourth Amendment's prohibitions on unreasonable searches and seizures, were not allowed to enter a Rhode Island man's home and take his guns. Justice Clarence Thomas wrote the court's opinion, saying that police had violated the "very core of the Fourth Amendment." The case arose out of a 2015 incident in which a Rhode Island married couple argued over attempted suicide.

Texas recorded zero COVID-19 deaths on Sunday, months after President Joe Biden criticized the state for relaxing pandemic restrictions too soon. State healthcare data shows that the state’s zero COVID death day was its first in about 14 months. The state also saw a 13-month low in cases and an 11-month low in hospitalizations, according to Gov. Greg Abbott. “Thanks, Texans!” Abbott said in a Twitter post accompanied by the new data. The news comes just two months after Biden accused the state of “Neanderthal thinking” for relaxing restrictions earlier than other states, including ending the mask mandate and allowing businesses to open at 100% capacity.
States are wise to turn down Biden's poison
unemployment money

It is quite rare to see a state turn down federal money. It is rarer still to see states turn it down in the name of improving their own economies. Fortunately, several states are now doing just that. Why? Because President Joe Biden’s economic stimulus is making what’s rational for workers irrational for the economy as a whole. At this point, the fact is unavoidable: The Biden administration’s foolish decision to extend increased unemployment benefits through the summer is clearly retarding the job market’s recovery. It made sense to pay out something to workers in exchange for government restrictions on their livelihood.

We are already seeing colleges and universities requiring the COVID-19 vaccine for students to attend classes in the fall. The vaccine is being tested for children under 16, and there may be school districts that attempt to require it in the fall. All of this pressure to vaccinate the young, given their relative resilience to severe disease and near-zero fatality rate from COVID-19, is unprecedented. The health bureaucracy is not nearly as insistent about the flu vaccine, even though it often makes children much sicker and often carries higher fatality rates in children.

Critical race theory is the absurd idea that the United States is a fundamentally racist country and that our society is designed to uphold white supremacy. While the reasonable among us dismiss this idea, schools across the country are teaching it and big liberal corporations like Disney and Coca-Cola have tried pushing it. And sadly, it seems like our nation’s “top infectious disease expert” is pushing it, too. Over the weekend, Dr. Anthony Fauci delivered a virtual commencement address to the graduates of Emory University.

Rittenhouse faces murder charges in the deaths of two men. On May 7, Kelly’s lawyers filed a due process grievance against the decision to fire him, demanding a full reinstatement, restoration of benefits and seniority, and more. Kelly had been 10 months shy of 20 years with the department. At that point, he could have received retirement savings without a penalty.

I’m on vacation. No TV, no computer, just my phone, my iPad, my kids, and my grandchildren -- although, of course, I still skim the headlines every day. I am also seeing how eerily familiar the way people in another state are living, but it’s another blue state, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Since the trip began, I’ve been struck by the abject abandonment of common sense in favor of rote obedience to absurd rules. We are trained monkeys, following senseless pronouncements that improve nothing. Start with the airport. For some reason, my TSA Pre-check status didn’t make it onto my ticket.

Remember the old 1970s sitcom "Welcome Back, Kotter"? It aired on ABC from 1975 to 1979. The president of the United States throughout half that period was the infamous peanut-farmer-turned-worst-president-ever Jimmy Carter. Perfect timing. Because 2021 is clearly the new 1977. The new version of that sitcom is "Welcome Back, Carter. Except Add Dementia." It stars our current president, Joe "Basement" Biden, as today's hapless, pathetic, destructive Jimmy Carter. Basement Biden and Jimmy Carter are alike in so many ways it's almost surreal.

Today’s lesson was another from Nehemiah — we’ve spent several weeks in that book.
