White evangelical churches 'have become
political instruments': George W. Bush

Original Article

Former President George W. Bush said Thursday that churches, and particularly the evangelical movement that powered his election victories, have become too invested in political battles. “Churches have become, particularly the White evangelical churches, have become political instruments,” Mr. Bush said in a conversation at the Bush Center about immigration and his new book of portraits. He was being prodded by Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s ethics & religious liberty commission, who wondered why some religious adherents’ support for immigration in the U.S. has flagged.(Snip) The comments were striking for a president whose 2004 reelection campaign relied in part on energizing those White

Comments:

The fork-tongued lying globalist re-emerges from his spider hole to take shots at the decent people who were tricked into voting for him. Are black churches not political? What about mosques, considering how many there are now thanks to his mass importation of Muslims. Best of all, this fraud billed himself and his wife (said to be even more conservative of the two) as pro-life and pro-real marriage, but the moment they're out of office, they announced they were pro-abortion (no surprise since federal funding for Planned Parenthood hit record highs on his watch) and fully supportive of homosexual sham marriage.

Well that’s because we Christians have to pick a side. God or Satan. God does not support abortion. So on that one issue alone we can only support non baby murderers. Pro life candidates only. Take a hike Bush. You seem to have lost your moral compass, if you ever even had one.

FTA: In his conversation Thursday, Mr. Bush said the transformation among White churches mirrors what’s “always been the case” in African American churches. Was he upset in the past that black churches were "political instruments" or has he only become worried now that white churches have joined the game?

Its been disappointing to me to hear barely any pushback for the horrific things he has been saying on TV. In another interview, he said he was worried for the GOP if they continue in the “Anglo-Saxon Protestantism” path. EXCUSE ME? Hey, he has HIS cheap labor working hard on his Crawford tree farm, he has no worries. He is PROUD of it. He is trying to assert leadership now that our President Trump is gone. Words fail me. Satan has all abortionists believing what their NEA leadership of “Humanism religion” states. We must convince all Christians that their belief is merely a rotting corpse of failure because their God allows Satanists to run roughshod over their faith with apparent immunity. Christians allow Satanists to educate their children in every evil depraved thought and action conceivable in the human mind put there by evil Satanists calling themselves social progressives who are the evil ones we Christians must stand against. Christians have failed to control the Gates of the city (Government) allowing Satanists inside an among the leadership. Ephesians 6: 10 - 18  10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

He has turned his back on the people who pulled for him and prayed for him, only to cozy up to the Clintons and Obamas, who never had a good thing to say about him while he was in office and for a long time afterwards. He only became worthy of being spoken to by those exalted beings when he got his nose out of joint about Jeb(!)s treatment by Trump during the 2016 primaries.

GWB has been a major disappointment. He has no loyalty and pants like a dog, after the people who repeatedly kicked him in the media for eight years. It's disgusting and servile. He would have been better to sit down and shut up, because his past as a much maligned hero president of 911, would have carried him into posterity. Instead, he increasingly becomes a little man who was probably supported and guided by men far more competent, while he took the credit and shielded them from the criticism that would have made their efforts more difficult - an early Joe Biden, perhaps. Not a good conclusion or a good legacy.

Evangelicals have become too political? Good grief. The Episcopal Church in the US has become so ‘woke’ and political that they are now nothing but propagandists for the radical left. Gay marriage, homosexual bishops, open borders and devoted Marxists. As posters above mentioned, the black churches have become a wing of the Democrat Party. Strange, he holds the exact opposite opinion from me. I'm a Southern Baptist and I've been angry for over 40 years that my beloved America has been going down a rat hole morally and spiritually and I have pleaded with my church and denomination to address the issues that are bringing about this depravity only to be met by crickets, by people who buried their heads in the sand and refused to even acknowledge or recognize the issues, much less address them. I even know people in my church who voted for Obama and Biden, especially older folks whose only concern seems to be whether or no the Social Security checks kept coming. It has been very sad, heartbreaking, and disillusioning. And, now to hear this ex-president who owes much of his success as Texas governor and president to the support of evangelicals make such comments is too much!

No #26, the Bushes were always loathsome. I tell you when I sensed it. Bush I dreamed of being POTUS since he was young. He got nowhere running for the GOP presidential nominee on his own. RR was talked into choosing a Deep Stater. What ramifications we have suffered ever since. Anyway, note NONE of the Bushes ever complimented the Reagans. Also Bush Republicans dismantled Reaganism conservatism soon as he got into office. He LIED telling us it would be RR’s third term. Right there we should never have given any Bush the time of day.

What's wrong with that? The poster already said it in the comments above. There is nothing wrong with Christians supporting candidates that believe as they do. They wonder why support for immigration has flagged? How about because we like being Americans and having our own values. Perhaps we're tired of hearing mexican music all day and night, illegal aliens crowding us out at the hospital, the dmv and everywhere else, and just knowing that they are purposely allowed in just to dilute out vote. Gas prices are already starting to spike in the wake of the suspected Russian cyberattack that shut down America's largest fuel pipeline four days ago as experts fear the attack could turn a 'cyber disaster into a real-world catastrophe'. The attack on Colonial Pipeline, which runs from Texas to New Jersey and transports 45 percent of the East Coast's fuel supply, is the largest assault on US energy infrastructure in history and has sent shockwaves across the industry. It has left Colonial and the US government scrambling to restart the network in a bid to avoid fuel shortages and drastic, long term price hikes.

Maryland Gov. The gunman who fired a barrage of rounds into crowded Times Square was trying to kill his brother but wound up wounding three innocent bystanders—including a 4-year-old girl, police sources said Sunday. The suspect, identified by sources as 31-year-old Farrakhan Muhammad, was still on the run Sunday after turning Manhattan’s tourist hub into a shooting gallery, the sources said. Muhammad, who peddles bootleg CDs at the Crossroads of the World, had gotten into an argument before he pulled out a pistol and started shooting wildly, sources said. The largest gasoline pipeline in the country was shut down on Friday after a sophisticated ransomware attack, which experts are calling the most dramatic cyberattack on U.S. soil to date. In a Saturday statement, Colonial Pipeline said that it 'proactively took certain systems offline to contain the threat, which has temporarily halted all pipeline operations, and affected some of our IT systems.' The hackers are likely a professional cybercriminal group, and a group dubbed 'DarkSide' was among the potential suspects, two U.S. government officials told Reuters.(Snip) DarkSide is known for deploying ransomware and extorting victims—while avoiding targets in post-Soviet states.

When you’ve never had to think about the hardship of voting, then yes, these conversations on voter suppression seem absurd to you. It's already ridiculous that the foundation of this country relies on who the president is when one of nine geriatric Supreme Court justices either dies or retires. It's doubly ridiculous then, that a Supreme Court justice would understand this fickle structure, see its constant abuse by one political side, and yet refuse to retire when the party that most aligns with their judicial philosophy is in power. (Snip) Apparently, history really does repeat itself, as another left-leaning, 80-something year-old Supreme Court justice is refusing to retire at a time when the Democrats have a precarious hold on the Senate, and
