Major League Baseball has been under intense pressure from Democrats to move the annual All-Star Game out of Atlanta over Georgia’s election integrity law and on Friday, the league caved. On the second day of the 2021 season, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred sent a clear message to all MLB fans that his league takes its marching orders from activists and politicians.According to a statement from the commish; “Over the last week, we have engaged in thoughtful conversations with Clubs, former and current players, the Players Association, and The Players Alliance, among others, to listen to their views,” said Manfred. “I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values

I don't know how this stuff works but wouldn't there be contracts to the city or from the city guaranteeing certain conditions for the game to be played in Atlanta? Sounds as if the MLB organization could be sued.

At this point, I could care less about MLB. I very sorry for the employees and the people that it will affect financially. I would sue. However, everyone should follow President Trump's advise BOYCOTT. Don't turn it on, etc. Let it go down the drain.

I'm going to be practical. I think broad boycotts - of all of ML baseball - will be difficult and unrealistic, if not impossible. A broad boycott may look promising in the beginning, but will fade over time, despite the best intentions.
I would target the boycott in a specific lazer-like fashion to specifically the All-Star Game and perhaps MLB products, such as jerseys, cups, and other merchandise. To expect many not to follow their local teams is asking too much in my humble opinion. I will boycott the All-Star Game and forego any merchandise purchases. I think that an effective specific approach will carry a louder voice.

Hard to care about a group who probably helped the Georgia politicians, who stole the nation, get elected.

By all means do not boycott all of baseball. That is asking way too much of American citizens. Freedom and legal elections are not worth missing a ball game. Good grief.

What a coincidence..."I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values" is by no longer watching MLB, attending any of its games, or purchasing any of its products.

Full-blown fascism has emerged in our land while we were looking the other way. Major corporations, including sports, have aligned to become the strong arm of the state - all aligned under a code of 'fairness' and 'equity' that has nothing whatsoever to do with the individual rights that built and strengthened the nation.

I hope to see Atlanta suffer horribly, they are one of the hotbeds of woke socialism. Only fair that they enjoy the fruits of their poor policies.

This is very easy to explain. MLB getz huge tax breaks and Coca Cola and Delta have federal contracts worth millins. The dims threaten to take those away and they fold. It is simply coercion

All this over a law saying you have to identify yourself in order to vote! Are they going to raise such a fuss over the airlines requiring I.D.? BTW, does Delta require photo I.D. to fly? Is this because it makes it harder for the democrats to cheat? I'm confused!

I beg to disagree, #11 and those who say that boycotts do not work long term. We were goaded by the other pro sports teams of the NFL and NBA. Also by Hollywood's know-nothing stars, woke department stores like Target, Dick's, Nike, multiple fast food joints, Fox News, all who took the side of the black rioters, looters and arsonists, those who celebrated trans-madness and a stolen election. They are all suffering financially and it began before the the Kung Flu struck. Stadiums and movie theaters looked the same on game day as they did on off days - empty. Fox has joined CNN and MSNBC in the basement janitor closet. I personally have not visited any of these venues after they made their choice to screw mainstream America in favor of the Woke, Weird and Witless and I see no reason to do so in the future.

Conservatives on the right usually are successful with boycotts because they are the money spenders not so on the left when they try it. I stopped watching all sports like the NFL five years ago the NBA I never watched and last season stopped with my favorite MLB when they became woke on the field of play. I only watch college football and baseball. I boycott brands too and never purchase them again if I ever did let them go broke or lose their customers for a dumb movement like BLM.
Atlanta deserves what happened to them so does MLB.

As the baseball teams find that their fan base and monetary profits have been seriously diminished by Manfred’s politically based decision to move scheduled baseball related events out of Atlanta, signifying that baseball has surrendered to extreme “woke” partisan politics. those teams will start taking about the same position as written in the Braves statement. After that happens the blowback is bound to fall on Manfred’s head.
Remember that most baseball fans either attend baseball games or watch games on TV as a pastime to forget for a few hours factors in their lives such as adversarial partisan politics, and thus they sure do not go along with such partisan politics landing on second base at baseball games that they pay big bucks to attend or spend time watching on TV.

MLB just caved to the dems. Commissioner Manfred is lying. the only "view" he listened to were the democrats!
Does Manfred object to the fact that to get the vaccine, one has to show a photo ID. The poor, women and children are most affected by this rule. Does Manfred object to this ID order?

Don’t be stupid. Boycotts don’t work. If you watching MLB on cable, you’re paying them whether you watch or not through your cable bundle. They couldn’t care less if you watch or not.

I love baseball, but MLB is digging it's own grave here by boycotting Atlanta. Manfred is a weak willed idiot bowing to the player's union. I'm pretty sure most players don't give a dump about the election laws of Georgia, and with a mostly conservative viewership and attendance at games, MLB won't have to worry about large number of fans in the seats after this decision Covid or no Covid. I'm guessing Manfred has already received a blistering response from the owners because of his decision. After losing money last year because of no fans in the stands, the owners were looking to bounce back a bit this year. They can kiss that dream goodbye.

I wish we could separate sports and politics. Sports should be an escape from politics regardless of your political beliefs. Sports is something we all enjoy and could help to unite us despite our differences.
