A black officer had been fired after a random audit of his bodycam captured him using the N-word multiple times, police have said.
Delvin White was fired Tuesday for 'violations of policy that prohibit discriminatory conduct', according to disposition letter released by the Tampa Police Department.
White - an eight year veteran of the department - was a resource officer at Middleton High School at the time of his firing.
He is said to have used the N-word while on the phone and directly to a person he was arresting on November 30, The Tampa Bay Times reported.
White told his supervisor he did not mean for the word to be derogatory.

The "N-word" - - yes, the "N-word." I'm so glad that my grandparents came from Italy - - because there are no slur words for Italians - - ummm - - except maybe for guinea, greaseball, w.o.p., zip, guido, goombah, and spaghetti bender - - and a few others which can't pass this forum's screens.
Italian-Americans have never had to experience the horrors - - the trauma - - of anything like "the N-word."

Can't we all just talk how we want to talk? Live and let live. I control me, you control you. Life is better that way.

The Tampa Police Department does not have one standard for Black police officers and another for all others. Fortunately they are applying this standard equally in this case regarding the N-word. Sorry that Officer White is a beloved and respected member of the community and was fired for using the N word and meant no harm or ill intent. Officer White joins a long list of other good people who lost their jobs for the unfortunate use of and same no ill intent or harm meant of the N word.

I thought that THEY could say it without a problem, and they seem to use it about every third word, whether it makes any sense or not.
Not a word I have used in more than 50 years. And I never said it about anyone in my life.

I think I'll IDENTIFY as a Black person so I can express culture and experiences
among the African American community. If there are 72 Genders there must be thousands of skin tones. Which do you choose?

I have a lot of black friends and they call each other the N word that ends in “ah”, and it is a cultural term of endearment and socially acceptable amongst themselves. However when they call each other or others call them the N word that ends in “er”, thems fighting words!

I guess I'm old fashion. If the N word can't be used by Whites, Hispanics, Asians, Native Americans, Real Indians, Mongolians, Japanese, Polynesians and so many others, it shouldn't be excused just because of the color of one's skin happens to be black Now the flip side of that is I don't think anyone should be punished for using 'offensive' language.

That is like us whites calling each other cracker and white devil, I guess. Use both hands to count the incidences, if you need to.

They are out of touch with reality firing that Black police officer as it is Black ghetto dwellers who have kept have the N-word alive, for every non-Black person who might use that word casually there are hundreds of Black people who use that word routinely, and as the officer reported the N-word has become a way for mostly the Black ghetto communities to express their unique culture and social experiences among themselves.
