The television audience for Hollywood's virtual Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday fell sharply from last year's event, with preliminary estimates on Monday indicating that about 60 per cent fewer viewers tuned in to the widely panned award show. Ratings data reported on Monday by The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline showed that only about 5.4 million Americans watched the three-hour telecast on the NBC network.[SNIP] In 2020, 18.3 million Americans, the smallest audience in eight years, watched the Golden Globes ceremony on television, according to final Nielsen data.

Let's see... Unfunny, shrewish hosts? Check. No political humor attacking the current president or his administration? Check. Awards for things I would never in a million years watch or care about in the least? Check. Yeah, that about made sure I was not going to be wasting a second of my time watching this Hollyweird love-fest!!!

Since nobody has ever heard of anything that was nominated for or won an award, and we are all sick of Hollywood / Liberal Elitists telling us how to live, how woke we should be, or about the latest LGBTQ / BLM/ Antifa grievance and how it is our fault, it is no wonder nobody chose to watch. If I am interested in who won what, I can skip the PC woke speeches and just look it up on the internet in the morning.

I'm sure the Awards show and the network will find a way to blame Trump. For once they would be right. 75 million and their families are no longer a potential audience. And that's lot of lost marketing power to advertisers. Still, liberal cheerleader fest like this will never catch on. Just like Comey's FBI!

Like most liberal/progressive democrats, they'll find some way to rationalize, justify, and excuse, the horrendous ratings. Yet, the resounding conclusion is no one cares about them any longer. Probably because they don't really care about the average person either. Does anyone's obituary actually state they won a Golden Globe?

The Justice Department and FBI are gathering evidence to try to build a large conspiracy indictment against members of the Oath Keepers for their roles in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, according to people familiar with the matter, but the group’s sometimes fractious and fantasy-laden internal workings may complicate efforts to bring such a case. In the wake of the short-lived insurrection, the Oath Keepers is the most high-profile, self-styled militia group in the country. While members use the jargon and trappings of a paramilitary organization, in daily practice they are often more akin to a collection of local chapters with a similar, conspiracy theory-fueled ideology..."

A number of high-ranking military officers are using their official social media accounts to denounce Fox News host Tucker Carlson over recent claims that maternity flight suits for pregnant fliers and new directives that loosen hair regulations to accommodate females in the ranks are “making a mockery” of the U.S. military. [SNIP] On his popular show that aired Tuesday, Mr. Carlson said Chinese military officials are pushing for their armed forces to toughen up while the Pentagon is more focused on programs aimed at increasing diversity and inclusion in the military — such as updating hair regulations and testing flight suits for pregnant women.
When Minorities Commit "Hate Crimes" 8 replies

The media loves to churn out, "What we don't talk about when we talk about X" pieces. Those pieces are invariably talking about the things that the media talks about non-stop. Meanwhile, many of the things that it does talk about have notable omissions. Anti-Asian hate crimes are constantly talked about, but not who's committing them. Oakland’s Chinatown had suffered over 20 attacks against the elderly and women in two weeks. The wave of attacks against Asian people in Oakland, like the previous attacks in New York that I documented, are being carried out by minorities with a criminal record, not by conservatives.

I have been telling parents for decades that sending a child to almost any college is playing Russian roulette with his or her values. But it is a different version of Russian roulette. In the traditional version, only one of the gun's six chambers contains a bullet. In the college version of Russian roulette, 5 of the 6 chambers contain a bullet. If your child attends almost any university in America (or Canada or anywhere else in the English-speaking world), the odds are that your child's decency, intellectual acuity, faculty of reason, character and moral compass will be damaged, perhaps permanently.

Taking aspirin pills may help protect against coronavirus infection, a study suggests. The common, cheap and safe drug is often prescribed to prevent heart disease and stroke as well as a regular over-the-counter painkiller. Data from more than 10,000 people who were tested for Covid between February and June 2020 revealed one aspirin tablet (75mg) a day led to a 29 per cent lower risk of catching the virus. It remains unknown exactly how aspirin may prevent coronavirus infection but the authors believe its antiviral properties come from an ability to change how the immune system responds to the pathogen.
