President Donald Trump just made it easier to weed out certain unelected federal employees working in policy-related jobs by cutting back some of their workplace protections. The president issued an executive order that was the product of nearly four years of effort, making it easier to hire – and fire – federal bureaucrats in a move meant to “increase accountability for Federal employees who make substantive contributions to executive branch policy.” The order, issued earlier this week, gives federal agencies “more flexibility” in holding employees accountable but is being denounced by critics who fear it is politicizing civil servants.

Yeah, I'm real scared of politicizing civil servants. Wouldn't want to do something like that! They might start leaking stuff and trying to undermine your administration.
Actually, this EO should be called the "Roto-Router" order. Its time to open up and enlarge the drains on the swamp.

Awwww the poor little resistors are going to find out there is a cost to their smug insubordination. When the president makes a policy decision, they can either get about implementing it or find themselves on the street. ABOUT TIME!
The statement about politicizing civil servants is a sick joke. The federal government is about as liberal as it gets as we have seen with what various groups did to undermine Trump. Even those who didn't participate didn't report them.
Actually, the best solution would be to put severe limits on unions for civil servants, as in NO political contributions and other such constraints to break up the cozy relationships they have with the politicians that control their salaries and benefits. In fact, salaries and benefits should be handed over to an independent, politically balanced group with appointed and approved members that serve limited terms. This body would negotiate wages and the result would have to be approved by Congress as they do today.

JFK allowed civil servants to unionize. That and the 1965 immigration act have destroyed this country.

"politicizing civil servants"...? Sorry it's too late for that whiny excuse from the Shills in government.
They use their position to put their own PERSONAL policy preferences in place. Time to reel them in and force accountability! Lack of personal accountability IS THE key problem with Bureaucrats...some nameless faceless bureaucrat makes a decision and immediately it may negatively impact citizens...That is totally UNACCEPTABLE! If they cost someone their job, life, etc. the Bureaucrat MUST be held accountable, No If's, Buts or other excuses!

Oh please! Like civil servants weren't already politicized. Come for the salary and benefits, stay for the chance to be on the evening news.

Civil servants are already politicized. Just look at the IRS, CIA, FBI and DOJ. Those are the main ones.

Many federal employees have been long past their expiration date. If they are termed are they getting unemployment plus pensions plus SS ? Don't forget that extra unemployment money and another stimulus.

The only way to weed out politicization in government is to move the government to Kansas & have term limits for congress.

Washington D.C. votes almost 100% Democrat. Where do you think Washington bureaucrats live? If you've been in government long enough to be promoted to a policy-level position in the bureaucracy, you are almost certainly a Democrat. PDJT is finally giving diversity a chance in the Swamp by allowing the next Republican President a chance to staff policy positions with conservatives.
