The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts informed members of the National Symphony Orchestra that they would no longer be paid just hours after President Trump signed a $25 million taxpayer bailout for the cultural center, according to an email obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. Nearly 100 musicians will no longer receive paychecks after April 3, according to an email from the orchestra's Covid-19 Advisory Committee. "The Covid-19 Advisory Committee was broadsided today during our conversation with [Kennedy Center President] Deborah Rutter," the email says. "Ms. Rutter abruptly informed us today that the last paycheck for all musicians and librarians will be April 3

Pretty disgusting that bailout money was held hostage to the Kennedy Center, Planned Parenthood, and NPR DEMOCRAT interests. Democrats really have no shame.

This needs to be investigated. That Kennedy Center is a leftist run pit of liberalism and is probably under corrupt leadership. It's absurd that it should be funded at all. If it can't make it then shut it down, or put it under better leadership and call it TRUMP CENTER...

I am sure the John F Kennedy people are truly concerned about the taxpayers and donating the entire 25 million to the national deficit. How could anyone be so pessimistic about these people.

There may be a strategy at play here.
This is a headline from the WaPo.
"Trump appoints Jon Voight, Mike Huckabee and 8 others to Kennedy Center board."
I'll leave this and let others sort out the remaining eight appointees.

I am sure that on its face the money is supposed to be spent on construction improvements all done with contractors with Union labor. No money for hourly wage earners that work there. Sorry.

Live by the sword, die by the sword. This sucks for them and for all of us who pay for the maintenance and operation of the Kennedy Center.

Agree with Poster#6... May be a political strategy at play(?) The article notes:"... T he Kennedy Center, which recently completed a $250 million renovation, received $41 million from taxpayers in 2019, but faced massive deficits after shutting its doors on March 12 due to the coronavirus outbreak. President Rutter went on a media blitz to highlight the cultural hub's struggles, telling the Washington Post that she would forego her $1.2 million salary during the closure..": > $41 MIL last year in 2019, and then $25 Mil in 2020...
.And they apparently, just finished a renovation of some $250 MIL... And the HEAD Chi {Mis RUTTER]c makes a smooth $1.2 MIL per year.....There definitely is some political 'Monkey Spanking' going on at the Kennedy Center !! Wonder if the Dimms will scream for AN investigation....YEAH! SURE! /sacr !

I wonder how many L-dotters actually have visited or plan to visit the Kennedy Center. Lucianne has readers from around the country, if not globe. Is funding this center with our money and our children's money worthwhile, or are we paying for the effete snobs to entertain themselves? Surely, the motivation for funding this cannot be a genuine interest for the COMMON good!

Apparently Piglousi inserted a provision in the bill that the Kennedy Center wouldn't have to pay back that $25M even if they didn't pay their workers with it. You can always count on her to slip in exemptions for her cronies.

JFK Center charges ticket fees for their offerings. Not enough to keep it going? Then raise your friggin ticket prices!! Ooooh - people can't afford it? Then you are paying your performers way too much. Sink or swim. Get your grubby paws off and out of my wallet. I do not care if your oboist has a good month. If it not so good - she can get a job at the grocers. They need help behind the deli counter right about now.

And what makes these musicians more special than the millions of factory workers, servers, office workers, and others who aren't getting paid during the government mandated shutdown? Apply for unemployment like everyone else.

As Rush Limbaugh told us DECADES ago, FOLLOW THE MONEY.
Into whose pockets is this graft going into?
IF the previous poster's numbers were correct, this certainly isn't going into renovating or upgrading the building!
This is a story that desperately NEEDS to be followed, chronicled, and reported upon as the money comes in--
Like #1 said--it is highly likely that it will be laundered back into demonrat socialist's campaigns for re-election!
