Prince Harry and Meghan have been damned today after spending £2.4million of public money doing up their new home in the grounds of Windsor Castle with the cost expected to balloon to £3million.
(Snip)
The £2.4million 'substantial overhaul' of Frogmore Cottage - a gift to the couple from the Queen - was approved by Her Majesty but it is still not complete with the costs set to rise by up to £600,000 because of landscaping and more decorating.
The spending emerged as the Royal Household's 'Sovereign Grant' accounts were published today,

i think it is probably more disheartening for many over there that Meghan redesigned her engagement ring - which Harry had designed with his mother's diamonds. that was hard o read. Harry has his hands full.

Oh, NOW they’re worried about how much the royals spend. Is it because Meghan is black? /s. Hmmmm. Come to think of it though, maybe she is an insurance policy for the Windsor’s.

She will destroy Harry's reputation.
A few years from now, he will have to issue numerous mea culpas to the British people. She's a gold digger and landed a royal title with it. That she isn't outshining Kate is killing her! She thought that would be easy.
What she didn't realize is that the Brits love having a beautiful, classy woman as their Duchess/Princess and eventual Queen. Meghan is neither and it shows more and more every day.

Tacky. The supposed epitome and definition of that dreadful word ‘class’ appears to have none.

The Brits need to get used to it. Meghan isn't one to take "no" for an answer. There are only two people who can tell her no, and one is besotted with her, and the other (QEII) is probably holding back for now. I suspect the eventual Meghan/Harry breakup will eclipse the Diana/Charles breakup for nastiness.

The British royal family is made up of people of no special education, intelligence or accomplishments, and they cost the British taxpayers a fortune. It should end with the Queen’s passing.

I don’t believe her blackness has anything to do with it. There is a lot of opposition to the expenses of the royal family as a whole. For these, so far down the food chain, to have immediately spent all this money, far more than originally estimated, could create a tipping point. The Queen certainly would not have given them an open checkbook, and so far Harry seems to be putty in Meghan’s hands. I was going to mention what #1 did. Loving women do not usually do an almost immediate redesign on an engagement ring designed by their husband and with so much personal significance. My unsolicited opinion is that the ring he designed was handsome, very well-proportioned. Her redo is delicate and fussy, as well as thoughtless. She will now have to constantly play with it to keep the main stones from shifting inside her hand. Heavy stones call for a better-proportioned band.

I'm trying to figure out how anything on Windsor Castle grounds would need three million dollars of renovation. They could have built a new place for less.

Megan is hooked on OPM. She is full of herself and who she is. It really galls me when she talks about doing things for people who don't have much and then goes out and spends millions of OPM on herself. She is selfish and vain. Harry should have listened to his father and brother instead of his you know what.

This marriage is not destined to be the 'til death do us part' kind. If it lasts 2-3 years I'll be very surprised.
There are credible rumors to indicate that MM was never pregnant but that a surrogate gave birth to Archie while MM wore a moonbump to look like she was pregnant. She was said to give birth at home; she refused the palace doctors; she did not want to go to a hospital specifically the hospital where Kate had her children.
Typically after a royal birth the document announcing it is signed by witnesses to authenticate the birth. Archie's document has no signatures. Although I take these types of rumors with a grain of salt it does seem odd.
The royal family will have to pay BIG for MM to go away quietly. If she won't go away the RF may make her go away a la Diana. These are not good people. They do know how to make things look like accidents.

There will come a time when the citizens of England get tired of supporting the royals. After the queen passes, I predict the monarchy will fall. And Charles, who would be king will not reign very long until the taxpayers revolt. I think the queen is loved by the Brits and I would not suspect they will do anything while she is still living.
Charles and Camilla may find themselves unemployed.

No good ever comes from driving a wedge between family members - someone is then usually hurt for no good reason. Harry was always very close to William & Kate, can that be mended?

Anyone who keeps track of the British Royals knows that every few years another soap opera breaks out in this dysfunctional
Windsor family. Unnamed sources, supposed “Royal insiders” say about Meghan and Harry are now a media cash cow. The whole family lives in ostentatious splendor but media only picks on the one in disfavor at the moment. Too many DM stories from these “insiders” at the Palace have turned out to be lies.

At one time Kings and Queens in England owned England. They were world-wide rulers. They are currently worth billions even without anything from taxed British. I don't know all the particulars, but with the giving up ownership of the country, I'm sure there was a quid pro quo on finances. The Queen still owns, that's owns, part of Scotland. Even if the taxpayers stopped supporting them, royalty will be just fine. Markle is a disaster, master manipulator and pathological narcissist. Harry needs to wake up!

My theory is that the royal family accedes to Harry's every wish to keep him from talking about his real father.

This match seems ill-advised. I would guess Harry has already realized his mistake.
Felt the same about the Charles / Diana mismatch. Diana was too young and unstable. Her instability led to her downfall.

Interesting comment from one poster regarding a surrogate mother....hadn't thought of that, but I was always wondering if the new baby would be black....if Harry and a surrogate did the deed to avoid that problem, hmmmm could be...that could explain why she didn't want it to be born in the usual hospital with witnesses...hmmmmm
